Aww NJ...so glad you are getting stuff going!!! most guys feel weird about it..its like we are doubting their manhood...and I know what you mean about someone knowing you just did it and examining up there lol...always felt weird going to gyno if we had just done it..like she could tell lol...

Question for you too NJ maybe you have some idea...what does it take training/school wise to do obstetric sonography ? all I find are these almost scam like schools and stupid online classes from schools that can not possibly be taken seriously...just wondering..

For ultrasound technicians, it's either a two year associates' degree, or even a four year program, because you have to take anatomy, physics, and a lot of math. Only certain schools are recognized as being "accredited" in ultrasound/sonography.
What you can do is ask the tech who does your next ultrasound. It's a very big field now. It may also be one of those things that's different state to state.
I know what you mean about the online schools. It's like when I did nursing - I have no idea how people do the Phoenix online - how are you supposed to do the hands-on clinical experience? I hated online classes, personally. I can't be held accountable for my actions. :) I was going to go back for my doctorate before DH got laid off, but there's no way I could sit through a classroom anymore. I did 7 years of college, including post-grad, I'm cooked.

I haven't picked out a coming home outfit yet, and am starting to think about getting a hospital bag together, but the nursery is still far from being done! We got our car seat and stroller in the mail yesterday, so weird to think we're actually going to be bringing home a baby!

Here's my naked bump at 29 weeks 4 days: (I was a size 10/12 US pre-pregnancy and so far have only gained 8-9lbs!)

Awww, OMG, your bump is just too cute!!!:winkwink: And you look great hun, you are all baby belly!!! I hope I look that good when I am prego...LOL...

I'm back to the OPKs. I hate these stupid things, LOL. So much easier with the watch. The fertility MD wants me to start with OPKs on CD11 (today). When I get a positive, we're to BD that night, and then I go in the next morning for the mucous test. It's a weird thought that someone is examining my cervix right after BD...embarrassing isn't the right word, but you know what I mean. He said the OV watch should be good, but he wants me to use the OPKs as well. Should be interesting to see how the two correlate. I usually O on CD17 or 18, so we're down to another countdown! This is actually going to make this 2WW much easier.
DH has to take in his :spermy: on Saturday, so he has to abstain for two days. Thinking may try to get in some non-fertile-window BD tonight so he doesn't feel used.
It's so hard - I really only have two friends (who are NOT close friends) who had to see a fertility specialist, or had any real issues. Everyone else is part of the "It happens when you don't think about it" camp. Makes this very difficult as I don't have a huge support group. Yes, my friends are good, but they aren't very understanding of what we're going through; especially DH. He is having a really difficult time with the whole thought that something could be wrong with him.

I am excited for you hun, and so glad you will finally be getting some answers!!!

:hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs: It is hard when none of your friends can understand the pain of TTC and the emotional roller coaster that you go through every month..... But, remember you always have us ladies on the message board to support you hun...:hugs::hugs:

Just remind your DH that the SA is for the greater good, and that it will all be worth it when you guys finally do get pregnant... its great that your DH is doing his part by getting the SA done, and no matter what the results are just be supportive and let him know that you will love him no matter what the outcome might be, and that you guys will get through this together.... Hopefully the results are good, and maybe they can just have you try Clomid to increase your odds, or something else simple.... I got my fingers crossed for you hun.....:flower:

I tried to go to school for an X-Ray technician several years ago, and the community college that was close to my home in the previous state i lived in had a program, but it was very competitive, and you had to take a test to even apply for the program and the competition was crazy, and i had to wait almost a year for the next program to start, so I ended up just doing my BA degree in HR instead. You would need to go to classes in a traditional college for this program, this isnt anything you can do online. If I was you I would check with the local colleges in your area to see if any of them offer the program to start out... Good luck hun...:flower:

watching hoarders and doing commentary on the phone with my brother lol....I love my brother..we have so much fun goofing off...this makes me feel like my house is soooo clean!!!

@wannabe, I don't think it's going to be anything like Clomid for me. I ovulate every month, I'm very regular. It's looking like probably a luteal phase deficit, because when the MD told me I had to schedule the endometrial biopsy 10-12 days after I ovulate, I told him I'd be cutting it close with ten! I usually ovulate CD17 or 18, and AF shows CD28 or 29. But, yes, I am *so* looking forward to getting answers. Not at all to having anything stuck into my cervix again - that was NOT fun - but I know that it's all going to be worth it in the end if it results in :baby:!

NJ...are pap smears ok during pregnancy...or is it ok if I ask my dr to not do it till after the baby?...ive had 6 years of normal smears and also had the HPV vaccine too...just dont want to do anything that could possibly cause miscarriage or anything like that...

It's actually part of prenatal care - totally routine, no risk to fetus whatsoever. They're only scraping small cells from the outside of the cervix, they don't go in at all. Sometimes they do more than one during pregnancy. It's all safe.

k...guess Im also worried it will hurt more than normal..never had one at this dr office so not sure how easy they are...

BTW, I just want to thank all of you girls for being so supportive. It's been difficult for me, and I don't have a lot of people I can talk to or vent to. My mother doesn't even know we're seeing a specialist, because she keeps telling me I'm "too fat to get pregnant." I hadn't spoken to her in about three weeks just because we've both been busy; she must know something is up, because she called me three times this week, and each time has managed to work into the conversation why I shouldn't have kids. None of my doctors think my weight is a problem (they just say to be cautious with how much I gain when I get PG), but she won't let it go. It's gotten to be such a stressor, that I just won't speak to anyone in my family about it.

So, again...:hugs: thanks to all of you. You've really helped me more than you know.

NJ my g-ma is the same way...I told her I ate Wendys the other day...and she went on and on about how she gained so much weight with my aunt and oh I need to be careful and before it was all about how I need to lose weight before we try and all this..and Im like..yeah..I know...no dr has ever said anything because all my stats and blood work and BP is always normal..I may be fat..but im fairly healthy lol..more so than some people that are skinnier than me... but im glad we can all be here for you and make you feel better!! it is so nice to have everyone here and have known each other for so long...dont know what I would do without you girls!!!

well its bedtime for me and hubby..managed to eat some cereal..uggh morning sickness lol..goodnight ladies..talk to you all tomorrow!!!

I'm very nervous right now, what if it doesn't stick? It's the strongest line i've ever had it came up in less than a minute, but i'm scared it'll be another chemical....Is it less likely to be a chemical if it's strong?

LOL Lindsay I didn't realize how high I was carrying till you said that, then I actually looked at the picture! As for the TTC while overweight. I wanted to lose weight before I got pregnant, but it didn't happen. At my first pregnancy appt they told me how much weight I could gain. I was told I was overweight and should only gain 15-25. But wait, if you were 3lbs heavier starting out we would class you as obese, so we would really like you to only gain 15lbs. Since then no one else has said anything about me being overweight, it's not like there's anything we can do about it now! But that was the only time they made me feel bad about it (telling me I really have to watch what I eat since I'm starting out above the normal range, etc). If you wait forever until you get to the "right" weight it would have taken me a few more years probably to start trying. My cousin was more overweight than I was when she ttc and got pregnant. She was good, only gained 15lbs, and she lost it all right away, and since he was born a year ago Jan. she's lost even more weight by dieting and chasing around her LO. There's plenty of time to lose weight and I"m sorry your family isn't being supportive, but glad we could be here for you. Sorry if that was too long!

Sparklebunny! AMAZING LINE CONGRATS!!!!!

OMG SPARKLE!!!! AHH!!! I KNEW KNEW KNEW SOMEONE WOULD GET IT THIS MONTH!!!! YAY!!!!! Thats wayyyy better than my line at 11DPO...oh yay!!!!!!! so what do you do now? dr or what?
