Lettuce hunny, just because your bundle had to come out the sun roof rather than the planned exit of a door does not mean you didn't give birth. You carried your LO until her eviction notice was served and she came from your body....so you did birth her. We all do it differently, heck all 4 of mine were different in some way (some more than others) but just because yours was different to mine or even Jo Bloggs next doors does not mean in any way you are different to us in reality.

Oh I want to give you huge hugs and feed you sugary sweets I have in the fridge

LO: I'm sorry I got frustrated last night and yelled at you to just go to sleep but you need to sleep! Giving Mommy only 30 minutes at a go makes her very very cranky!

Lettuce - I have a lot of sadness for the way my birth experience ended up too (different reasons/circumstances). It sucks and I know what you mean about sadness when you hear of other's birth experiences.

I have been lucky enough to have uncomplicated births, even my compicated one wasnt so bad, still hold he was the easiest. My downfall was setting the bar for breastfeeding, I just don't create a good enough supply for my children. The same with each of them, and the feelings of guilt got worse with each one

Isn't it sad that we feel this way about labours/childrearing.

I dressed Jen in her football strip today and took her to the stadium, where she met some players and joined the youth club. That will really annoy MIL... x

I really wasn't happy about how my birth went... I wanted to be induced because I was 11 days overdue and miserable. Plus my blood pressure was going up, so they insisted. Next time I hope the baby come on their own!!!

To Body: For next baby don't get GD, don't be GBS positive. Go into labor naturally. Don't take 3.5 hours to push baby out! Don't tear so badly. And please poop before labor. Also, if you can magically lose 20 lbs before you get pregnant again, I would really appreciate it! Oh by the way I secretly want to be pregnant sooner than later, but totally not planned!

Lettuce, I know what you mean. My entire pregnancy was hell and the joy of Alex's birth was overshadowed by his heart condition I'm thankful he's ok for now though.

Must say my favourite birth was with Kara, (am I mad for somehow enjoying that part?) we made a last minute decision on a homebirth, well I say last minute it had been bandied about with one midwife I saw but the other was a bit snarky to me as our house isnt exactly big, so I had resigned myself to another trip to hospital where I feel very uncomfortable. A couple of days before birth my OH made the choice for me and told me I was doing it at home as that was what I wanted and the MW could go stick it up her wazzoo.

So what I can't say outloud now (6 months down the line)

to OH - You are bloody amazing and thank you for making me see I was right.

Wow. A homebirth! my DH would have a heart attack... X

My OH is pretty laid back and had been to both the other two girls births so was well prepared. He even bought in his kneel sheet from his works van for me, did all the lugging for the midwife. He looked after the other two girls (drinks snacks etc before business started) then just sat on the sofa with me doing my best not to get my waters on him again Then afterwards made cups of tea and did more lugging for midwife. The spare midwife and the trainee were spare parts and just stood out the way

to my mother: get off my back! making comments when i'm in the jarred food aisle (for emergencies when i run out of homemade) about how you'll never feed him that stuff when you have him on wednesdays really irritates me.
so does taking out his dummy every time you see him. he has it when he's tired or grumpy, stop telling me i'm going to affect his speech development! also, if you go in when i'm trying to get him to nap and talk to him, it doesn't mean he's not tired when he smiles!! now he's just going to get overstimulated and overtired

making comments about how it must be so awful to have a skinny mother who lost her babyweight in days is just nasty. i know i'm overweight now, i'm trying to lose it!!

Grrrrr. OH!! come back at 7ish does not mean wait and ignore my text at 10 past askin you to hurry up and then wait til I phone at 20 past and you still havent left. I am getting a lift off a friend it is going to take 2 hours to get there and back and I don't want to keep him up all night, I want to get back at a reasonable ish time. You can go back out after I get back but you knew I was going out at 7ish! I would have gone earlier if you didn't suddenly decide to go with your friend to go and make his live food order, he could have done that on his own! Hurry the feck up

Your girls are SO CLOSE in age (the youngest 2). How old was Rosa when you found out you were pregnant agin? Was the youngest planned? And what a great OH!!! I think I'm far too nervous to do it at home, plus I liked my epidural!
