Was just thinking on 4D scans you can see the babys face in so much detail ... in fact you can see everything in perfect detail... so it came to me that would this not be a good idea to offer someone if they were found to be high risk for downs or any chromosonal implication? rather then risking a needled through the abdamon? or would it not work? even if they had to a pay like £30 would this not be a better and safer way to diagnose??

Hi hun I don't think a scan would be as accurate especially if baby is facing the placenta, hands over face etc. it would be a waste of time and money if this happened.

The 20 week scan can show indicators of downs syndrome but the only sure way of knowing is by amnio or cvs. x

ohhh just wondered but i suppose you cant see bone etc on a 4D can u? i wonder if one day they will invent a scan that is so accurate they can check babys every detail down to a freckle or birth mark! how amazing! it would save people so much heartache from having to make a decision like an ammnio xx
