I can't see why you'd ever want to take the risk? For what benefit? Just drink some fruity drink in a cocktail glass instead! It's only 9 months! Enjoy it!
Alcohol can hardly be compared to tuna fish or breathing in pollution? pollution to a degree is unaviodable, alcohol is not
So I assume the mothers that drink while pregnant, still eat dangerous foods? Smoke? smh
The point of NOT consuming anything bad during pregnancy is to have a healthy fresh pure baby, who wouldnt want that?
How does that pay any relevance to the conversation? Eating say "soft cheese" one time is hardly comparable to getting blind drunk
Yes, you are entitled to make your own choices. But it's really not about you, it's about your unborn child.

This is what it really boils down to doesnt it. Everything else aside, we should and can put our babies first.
My First..I wasn't judging, but I was stating my PROFESSIONAL opinion. Not only do I raise a child with special needs, but I WORK with kids with special needs. Down Syndrome CANNOT be prevented so how dare you even try to compare Down Syndrome to Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
Yes, it is a personal choice, but what personal choice is your unborn baby making when you willingly and selfishly make the decision to risk passing Fetal Alcohol Syndrome to your child. How is that fair?
I hope for yours and your child's sake that your child is NOT born with FAS, because for the innocence of that child, it would kill me to know that there is yet another child born that has preventable disabilities. That goes for EVERY MOTHER who selfishly chooses to drink during their pregnancy.
40 weeks of abstaining from alcohol is not long, but try to imagine the lifetime of struggle your children are about to go through because of your selfish decision. A lifetime is a LONG time.
^ well im afraid they are basing that on old research, how can they say its okay? Do they personally know for sure? Recent studies have proven that no amount is safe 100%
You might have one a week and your baby may be fine, but how do you really know? Evry recent study i have seen recommends NO alcohol, for the fact that they cant say for sure how much exactly may or may not be safe.
Why risk it? I just dont understand. You dont need alcohol, it does nothing good for your baby? Whats the big deal in abstaining for such a short amount of time?
You have no control tho over your baby ending up with downs syndrome? x

Its a choice, I enjoy alcohol, plus I have not been told to abstain totally. Do I take the advice from my Dr's and Midwives, or do I take advice from a Forum? As I keep saying, its a personal choice...
