To wipe or not to wipe?

I dont wipe wee diapers cause I'm too lazy. so I'm glad to know that its better not too lol.

I full on wash he with warm water and cotton wool each time.

Now I'm thinking this is way too much? Oh dear!

I am so happy someone made this thread haha. I don't wipe that often. H is 2 and has NEVER had a nappy rash at all, not even slight redness! I wipe with poo obviously.

First diaper in the morning I normally wipe, and after a poopy diaper.. but that's it.

The only time I use a wipe if he had only peed, is in the morning when he has slept all night in the same diaper. Other than that I only use them when he poops.

I don't wipe much after he's peed, simply because I don't want to aggravate the skin. I wipe more when he's pooped and he has a bath each night anyway so he get's freshened up and washed then. :)

I've never even thought not to wipe  I don't know anyone in RL that doesn't, unless in a rush/outside etc.

Mind you, we use cloth nappies which don't suck everything up as well as disposables. LO has only had nappy rash when I used Bold washing powder.

im really shocked that people dont wipe their babies after a wee! i wouldnt like to have wee resting on my skin :(

xx

ive always wiped , i know the nappies absorb but i still think wee has been on him so i wipe

maybe thats why i spend so much on them !

I've always wiped  occasionally I won't but only if we're in a rush. I just hate the thought of wee being on her skin and it sitting there until she either does a poo or gets a bath, I like to freshen her up. I always wipe when I have a wee so it's the same for her..

I always wipe Evie after a wet nappy. I always wipe myself after a pee so I do the same for her  Now that she's teething I've noticed that her wee seems to be a bit stronger (possibly more acidic?) and I worry that it could cause a rash.

I wipe but then I only use water with a touch of lavendar on my reuseable wipes :)

I am happy to not wipe if i'm trying to do a quick change in the car etc but 9 times out of 10 i do x

never occurred to me not to wipe, even when i forgot my wipes when we were out one day i wetted some toilet paper and used that.

Wee contains Uric acid it stings the skin if left.
I don't know how this can be the same PH as the skin
HV told me I must always wash LO well after a wee, if possible with warm water and cotton wool ball. :)

I wipe myself after I pee so I wipe Jake when he does too :)

I always thought pee was acidic; that's why you burn plants if you pee on them

Babies can get nappy rash if they are left in a dirty nappy for too long; I assume this is due to pee and pooh, and not simply being clammy. I have only ever not used a wipe a few times; when I'm being particularly lazy. I just think, I don't like not being wiped, so my LO wouldn't either
