Toys/things from childhood

We had one of those red things with the pictures to look at...must have been my older brothers I think cos I don't remember it well

Smokey - that Sindy house is wicked x

Dippytink yes I remember that teapot too.

It's annoying that I can't find the game (with the number, colour cards) or the doll i used to have x

Closest thing I can think to is somthing called little proffesor which did math games and the face on the front looked like a owl but you didnt out cards in it.

That one came up on the google search but it isn't that, thanks hun.

I would've had mine when I was about 3 or 4, I'm sure it was red with an owl on the right hand side with cards that you slot in somewhere one at a time to answer the questions x

Bet she was thinking 'whataloadofshite' gimme the I pad!!!

Isn't nostalgia best left as a memory? It's fun looking at the photos but I bet if we got these things in our hands we'd think.... Is that it?!:haha:

I found some crisps in asda recently, they were 5p ones called Meanies. A friend and I were addicted to them when we were 13/14 . We used to buy 20 packets of them and munch on them on sleepovers. They tasted quite crap at the age of 37:cry:

completly disagree, for most the nostalgia and memories of a sweeter, more innocent time in our lives where we didnt have to worry about much more then not wanting to go to bed yet or eat our veg compltley outways the reality of the modern point to a toy.
Alot of these toys I still have and quite happily sit for ages playing with them with no concern that they dont hold up to memoeries of them or modern day toys (untill my son steals them off me anyway)
I challange anyone that used to play with lego to sit and play with it now (assuming you still have imagination) and think whats the point.
Its not about the funtion its about the memories, excersising imagination and ignoring adult worries.

Nostalgic food is very rarely like this because 99% of the time the ingrediants have changed beyond recignition over time so its not a case of they dont taste as good as you remember but they literaly are nothing like they used to be so dont create that nostalgic feeling like toys.

Yes, I know what your saying but even programmes that I bring up on youtube that were amaaaaaazing back in the day I now think they're a bit rubbish.... It's like the memory of them is better than the actual thing iykwim??!
It's funny when I show my 13 yr old things I played with he looks at me with distaste.... It actually wasn't that long ago!
Don't get me wrong, I love looking at things that remind me of my childhood... I'd just rather look at them though!!

Puppy, kitty and pony in my pocket. Me and my sisters loved them. We had the little tikes doll house, grandparents house and stable. Ive been desperate to find them for lo as she would love them. Did anyone else record there own radio shows on tape recorder me and my sisters did. We also loved care bears, my little pony and sylvanian families

Yay :happydance: my Mum has been round today and after a lot of searching we found the computer thing I was about. Now my next mission is to find one for sale.

It's a bit different from what I could remember, but it all came back after watching a video of it on youtube

I used to love pogs! I had literally thousands of them.

I also had the pogs you could get out of crisp packets. They were looney tunes characters I think. Had them all plus the folder they went in. Think they were called tazos.

I have a collection of retro toys, they are my guilty pleasure. As I was growing up I had to had down my toys to my sister (which she then sold and made a packet on eBay) now I am slowly getting a few back. My tango keyper is my pride and joy
