true blood season 4

told yaaalll :) second episode is much better aint it ? :) x

Oh the disappointment.

OH has read all the books and even he wasnt impressed, he said theyve crammed too much in all in one go and should have explained and elaborated more on things. As someone who cant get into the books, I was totally lost with the plot!

I thought Id better 'spoiler' this one just in case anyone hasnt watched yet:

I hate the 'Sookie/Fae storyline, its ridiculous and the fact that a year has passed now and so much has changed yet not been explained like Lafayette looking like Mr T and suddenly attending Wicca class. Sam being a mean angry old git who seems to be having dinner dates with other shifters, Tara changing her name and turning lesbian, and Andy being on V. I mean, give me strength!

I hate to judge on 1 episode of the new season but I love this show and now I feel they're making a fantastic series into a bit of a farce. Im watching Ep 2 this afternoon so we shall see....

PS I hated Bill but with his new 'role' he's suddenly become interesting ;)

i think they set it up well anuff so that most people knew those things were happening, Andy being on V. that was very obvious(they set it up from season 3) and lafayette being a wicca that was also set up way back in season 3, tara being a lesbian ... well i would give up too if i was her lol, also hbo said that was happening a while back so i wasn't surprised, also Tara as a character doesn't exist in the role she plays in the tv show in the book she is barely there, and is
a married woman who owns a fashionable clothing store :) i think i get on with them just fine, because i completely dissassociate the books from the tv show :) x

Loving Bill using his actual accent in this second ep. Essex lad :)

yeah i liked it to :) .. although in the adverts he sounded alot posher! and i thought that was his "english accent" so to speak lol :/ soo confused! haha x

Nooo it cut out right at the end. Did much happen after Eric asked Sookie why she smelt so good?

yeah i'm on about the Tb withdrawal advert from months ago :)

ps.. have u all seen the promo for the next ep ?! looks good :D x

Iv always hated Bill, he looks more like a zombie then a vampire :)
What annoys me is the tv series is taking over the books, Dead in the family had this realy annoying cover that had nothing to do with the books but the tv series.
If the writters of the tv series are going to mess about with the book so much then they should keep their nose off the book covers.
Lafiette is dead in the books (and was barely mentioned to begine with) so why have a picture of him from the tv show on the cover?
Jessica doesnt exsist in the books so why put a picture of her on it?
And forgive me if I have this wrong but isnt Terra white in the books? so why have a picture of her tv charecter

Sorry rant over the cover annoyed me :)

For those that have no idea what im banging on about

ya know what .. haha i don't think i can remember them saying either way if she is white or not .. bit random but yeah ... haha x

tbh, I've noticed that with most books they turn into a film / TV show - the whole story gets changed slightly. But I think personally they have to bring more substance to the show than what is in the books - the books alone wouldn't make a show, there's not enough there IMO. The twilight books where the films have stuck quite close to the books I find a bit boring even though I loved reading the books - I guess there's not enough going on for a film. I'm not sure I'm putting across very clearly what I'm trying to say - but sticking true to a book is not always a recipe for success for a film / tv show, even though the book readers probably mostly love it..

I try and just enjoy the show and read the books afterwards, then I have nothing to compare it to. It would annoy me if I read the books first. I did that with Harry Potter, and then it irritated me so much when they didn't stick to the book.

I know what you're saying and I agree.

I think we need to look at books vs tv or movies as parts of each other but not replicas. Her books are quite short and really...I don't think would be good for an entire season. They HAD to add things in. And so now maybe they've gone in a different direction. It's not bad, it's just different and I'm glad for that. It means I get to enjoy it all even longer. The same goes for movies vs books. Sometimes things need to be changed. Do I get irritated with "important" things are changed or left out? Sure, lol. But I still enjoy it so long as it's well done!

Okay, just saw Ep2 and yeah.... much better.
Ep1 was pretty nutty in terms of plot(s).
It simmered down a lot in Ep2 and got interesting, rather than just frenetic.

Game of Thrones was an incredible adaptation of a complex novel for a TV series. I was really impressed by how well they translated one medium into the other. The author was a screenwriter, though. That's gotta help! :)

Hate to sound like a parrot on this one, but trying to compare the books and the show is just going to make both come up short. I think most fans will be happier viewing each very separately and enjoying them for what they are.

i only liked the last 2 min of ep 1 ...and i think you all know why :winkwink:

yea i cant believe im saying this 3 seasons now ive been team bill ....season 4 is "team Eric"for me.... all the way!!! :happydance:

ok ok I take it all back, we watched ep 2 last night and OMG it really was better than ep 1! LOVED it. Bring on more! x

:happydance::happydance: :haha: i'm glad ! :) felt like i was in loosing corner :( everyone seems to hate it haha x

i agree lol.. now i have seen episode 2 i can see how the stories are coming together, i found the whole crystal being involved in the jason situation a bit random lol..but yeeeeeyyyyy for erics amnesia :D i liked how they explained more about how bill became king and everything tho. the first episode alone however just seemed a bit messy imo. xx
