Trying to conceive #1 Buddies!

beemeck: I know what you mean, spotting 4 days when you've never spotted before does seem concerning. I think at least talking to someone who can maybe better explain it is the right thing to do.

It reminds me of another lady on another thread who had several miscarriages and then BFNs for 7 cycles and then she went to get a checkup because BD started to hurt and turned out she had an infection on her cervix, she called it cerviticus? That apparently makes conceiving impossible. They just got it treated and it seemed super simple fix. It just made me think like anything that changes like if BD hurts or spotting, or cramping could really be something that's easily explained and solvable but only if someone took the time to check it out.

leson: yay I see the crosshairs yeah I like temping actually :) kind of gives me a sense of accomplishment like yay look at the progression of temp. I have actually been really bad at temping this cycle cuz I keep waking up later than usual and my temps are pretty different if i wake up more than 15 minutes later. I blame it on the cold making me want to sleep in.

earthy: yay for O buddy :laugh2: enjoy the BD

leson- I'm also 3dpo so looks like we will be testing around the same time. Me, super early because I have cheapies.

Temps are lower then normal but I haven't temped properly the past 2 mornings so tomorrow I'll start temping properly again.

Hi girls im totally new here. im attaching my BBt chart here. as u guys can see my temperature seems low and static at 36.2 after ovulation. is something wrong with me? or with the thermometer? im currently 7dpo CD23, and actively trying. thanks! x

Trr - Hooray so happy to have a buddy this time! Looks like we'll test on the same day. I usually test sooner with cheapies too, but this time I feel like I might just wait. I say that now but we'll see :).

Buby - Welcome! I'm new to charting myself. Is this your first cycle temping? That does seem low for a post-O temp, but I think you need to temp a few cycles to look for patterns. I wouldn't worry too much just yet. Best of luck to you!

Beemeck - how frustrating! You know your body better than anyone and deserve to be listened too. I hope you manage to get an appointment and some reassurance.
Looking online can be the worse at similar symptoms so try not to get too worried in the mean time. X

How is everyone getting on? Im 8dpo and keeping extra busy, will always pop back here though just to catch up. :)

4 DPO here, I think. Temps have been a bit off so not 100% sure I o'd when I normally do. Temps are following my normal pattern but that one temp is a bit low. Who knows?! Doing good not symptom spotting though. Think I've been obsessing about when I o'd instead!

Buby are these temps normal for you? If you've just started temping don't worry, we're all different. As leson said try not to stress as it's more about the overall pattern - I should take my own advice! (but maybe check your thermometer just to rule it out)

CD10 for me! I got a flashing smiley today on my OPK, so it's looking like we're going to be cracking out the Preseed until I O. Had some EWCM for the first time since July, and I think I'm going to attribute that to my acupuncture appointments.

I take quite a few antihistamines, and inhalers for asthma. We have a dog and two cats and I'm severely allergic to all three, but we love them to death and with the antihistamines I have no problem being around them, it just means I normally have no CM (antihistamines and inhalers tend to dry you up). I'm just hoping these are all good signs that we're well on our way to our BFP!

Abe: What antihistamines are you on? I was worried about CM since I take Zyrtec and Singulair every day for asthma and a severe grass allergy (I went into shock when they did my scratch test), but I always get ewcm. I'm thinking mb bc Zyrtec is second gen and singulair is not an antihistamine. I totally get the pet thing. I'm also allergic to our cats, but I figure I have to take medicine anyway. Can't really avoid grass here in sunny California. Even if I could, I love the little critters far too much!

Les- I'm on Benadryl right now, I was on cetirizine. My doctor told me to take 1st gen antihistamines if we're TTC, because second gen can be bad for the baby. I'm also on symbicort and salbutamol. I've had issues with CM since switching to Benadryl, so I think it has to do with it being a first gen.

Yea that makes sense then. Interesting that your doctor switched you though. Benadryl and Zyrtec are both class B, which means that no risks have been found in animal trials. My doctor said I could continue taking Zyrtec as usual. My friend's doctor told her she couldn't take either while pg! I've read articles that recommend Benadryl or Claritin, but I think it's just that they're more widely used so there's more data on them.

@Bee everyone is right. you deserve a doctor that will at least look at you when you raise concerns. I feel like i am more in tuned with my body from ttc for a few months now. i learned my patterns and cycles. So if i have a concerns its important for it to be addressed. Hope that clinic is able to give you some answers <3

@Magic 8dpo? im goin to assume i am around the same lol. i didnt really chart this cycle. I have also been trying to keep busy. Its easier now that the holidays hit. So much planning and shopping and wrapping and partying

@abennion are you doing anything to address the cm? i had a few cycles when i dried up and it made tracking my o a little more challenging.

@leson and Aben you guys sound like scientists discussing allergy medication lol

AFM i didnt use opks this cycle and i tried my hardest to not look at my ttc apps. but i did ehem enjoy my husband this cycle. so who knows. I have started taking herbs my mom got for me from china so perhaps it will work by next cycle.
PRay for holiday BFPs!

@super: I started acupuncture, and have been taking green tea and maca. I've noticed quite the difference even if I've only doing acupuncture once a week and only started the green tea and maca on CD3. I highly recommend it!

Aw I wish I had your will power. I keep trying to tell myself to stop taking opks and chill but before I know it ive poas!!! So well done you :)
I ovd early this time @ cd13 (probs after that late af, who knows!) Very odd but we think we are still hopeful.

Glad everyone is doing well and ditto on the bfps.. baby dust to all x

cool it sounds like everyone's trying something new this cycle

abennion: glad to hear that you're getting good cm. I'm actually not getting as much cm this cycle as I usually do, so I've been using preseed.

super: Do you know what your mom's herbs are called? I'm just wondering. I know my cousin in china also tried for a while and then his wife also started taking some chinese herbs but I forget exactly which one and he claims that's what helped them conceive. Also on another note, I think most of my cousins (they're all in china) have taken at least a year to conceive which I actually find a relief. Otherwise I bet I'd be hearing a lot more from my parents about how long it's been taking.

magic and leson@ gluck on the TWW. I really do have a good feeling about at least one holiday BFP.

AFM DH had an annual physical and got blood pressure medication. He's only 33! But I'm kind of glad he's getting that addressed early on at least. As a result though, he has to stop taking L'arginine because it is also supposed to lower blood pressure. So I ordered maca instead for him. He also asked the doc whether he needed to get tested and the doc said not to worry until we've been trying a year. I'm actually really surprised and moved that he even discussed this with the doc. I didn't think he was worried about TTC at all! Makes me feel a little better that he's thinking about it too.

buby: Welcome! :flower: I would actually suggest taking more temps pre-O. Even though sometimes they jump around there's still an overall pattern that can help you. Like for me, pre-O temps could go as high as 97.8F, and post-O temps can go as low as 97.9F so I know that as long as my temps are >=97.9, that's still "normal". And as PP have said, it helps to track for multiple cycles and you'll see a pattern emerge. I even have a pattern for every other cycle; my chart every other cycle looks almost identical in terms of rises and falls. So don't worry about it the first cycle you temp. It's definitely a good idea to continue BD no matter what your chart says :)

Hi guys! So I'm trying to figure something out: I usually ovulate on cd 15. 3 days ago, on cd 10, I tested with an opk and it was visible but not as dark as the control line. I thought I'd test again in a day or so, I forgot to test yesterday and now when I tested today on CD 13, the line barely showed up at all! I'm wondering now if I ovulated earlier than usual and I missed it? I wasn't expecting to o for another couple of days
Does anyone have any thoughts on what may have happened?

We did db yesterday and cd10, so if I did o early, hopefully our timing was still okay!

Continue to test. Hard to say if you missed it but I had that this cycle too. Got darkish then faint then blazing positive for like 2 days.

Thanks Trr. Yeah, I wasn't sure if it was possible to fluctuate back n forth going from dark to light to dark. Good to know :)

Sometimes the body can gear up to ovulate and you can even get positive OPKs but no egg is released. It's possible that you had a bit of a surge but could still ovulate in a couple days. I would keep testing.

Earthy: It's absolutely possible. My best guess is that if you keep testing you'll get your peak around your usual time. Glad you're good either way :). My LH level fluctuates throughout my cycle, but it's only darker than control one day. I only know this bc I charted 3x per day from cd5 until 3 dpo my first cycle ttc. I did this bc I have a shorter cycle so I wasn't sure when I'd O, I had read that the surge can sometimes last just 12 hours so you can miss it if you test just once or twice a day, and also for me it was a super fun science experiment (yes I know I'm a big fat nerd). Anyway, there were several times that I thought it was gearing up and then it went light again. Now that I know that I O around cd12-14 and my surge lasts at least 24 hours, I just test 1x a day starting cd10 until 1 day after peak.

@super: Taking it easy sounds like just what the doctor ordered after that last nail biter! Glad you and DH are still having fun ;).

@psych: Sorry to hear about DH's check up, but glad he's getting help early if he needs it. Also that's super sweet that he checked in on the whole ttc thing!

@magic: Hope you and your DH had a fantastic month so far, and let me know if you find way to relax this tww.

AFM: 5 dpo, finally feeling better after 3 days fighting off a bad virus, and now caring for a sick DH. Of all our cycles so far, this is the one I least expect a BFP...but I guess only time will tell.
