TTC Baby #1 Buddies

That's great laro! Glad everything normal and hopefully you're part of the women who get pregnant super fast after a mc.

My thyroid levels actually improved from 3 years ago. Was previously at 3.1 which is normal but above what they like to see for TTC. Now it's 1.75 which is great. My doctor said anything above 2.5 and she would want to start medication to regulate my levels.

That's fantastic!! How did you do that? I'm not sure if you can answer but can thyroid levels vary from day to day? Do my results are as below.

July 2015: 3.34
March 2nd: 3.79
March 4th: 3.24

Basically my regular doctor did the test in July and it was within normal levels. At my doctor is says anything below 5 is considered normal. Now that we're going to a fertility specialist she required a ton of testing before the appointment. When it came back on the 2nd as "normal-high" she requested more test which included another thyroid stimulating hormone test. I haven't met with the doctor yet and won't until after DHs SA next week.

I quit my super stressful job which was giving me huge anxiety and depression. I was also having what was almost like PTSD a year after my husband recovered from cancer, when he was sick things were also very stressful and I was sort of reliving those feelings. Took a year and did my own thing, tried different hobbies and jobs and eventually found my current job which is much less stressful. I was a huge mess 3 years ago, I could barely leave the house. I did cognitive behavior therapy to get over my anxieties as well as a lot of soul searching to find a job I'm passionate about. I wasn't actively trying to improve my thyroid levels though I guess it was just a side benefit of becoming well.

From my research TSH does fluctuate day to day and even from morning to night though I think it's rare for it to fluctuate more than 2 points in a short time. Under 5 is in the current "normal" range but a lot of endocrinologists are saying the number should really be a lot lower because people with a TSH above 3 are usually not at "optimal" levels and may benefit from treatment. Most OBGYNs and FS like TSH to be below 2 especially for TTC and during the first trimester because that is when you are sharing thyroid hormones with baby, after first tri baby's thyroid starts working on it's own.

That helps a lot. Thank you sooo much. I've found a lot online saying either 3 is considered the top or 5. I'm assuming it depends on where you live, but could be wrong. And obviously we're not doctors lol but that does give me some ideas as to what the doctor will say when I meet with her.

im in the position similar to where you were. Nothing in my life is bad or stressful but I'm soul searching and trying to live a healthier and balanced life.

By the way congrats to you and your DH on beating cancer that's fantastically amazing!!!

Thank you. It was the hardest thing we've ever done but we're both much stronger now and in our relationship. Previously, we were worried the chemo may have affected DH's fertility but all is good there too thank goodness.

Don't be worried if your FS wants you to try thyroid medication. I've seen people have great results with TTC by getting their thyroid levels in check.

Thanks! After hearing from you in definantly not as nervous.
You guys must have the strongest relationship. I'm so sorry you two had to go through that but am so happy his fertility is good to go and you two have such a strong relationship. It'll make you two even better parents!

I'm doing well! DH is doing his SA on Monday so I'll be making an appointment on Monday for the fertility specialist! I'm not sure how long it'll take to get an appointment but I'm excited to be moving in the right direction.
How are you?

:hi::hi::hi: How is everyone doing?! sorry i havent been so active on here. I went to dentist yesterday and i hav one tooth that needs some work done and also like to get my front teeth veneer cover so dentist said it will take us couple months. Plus i started to lose weight and would like to continue before getting pregnant. Long story short, im going ntnp mode until June.

As of this cycle, i think i ovulated already since creamy cm is present. We are going to Cuba next week and af is due the day we leaving:cry: DH was disappointed because of my af timing but at least i will know if im pregnant or not before we go so i can drink.

Golden- AF always shows at the worst time!! Sorry.

Afm- dropped off DH SA and called to make an appointment. It's a voicemail then they call back and they haven't yet. I'm shooting for an appointment either late this week or early next week as AF should be here next Thursday. But I still haven't ovulated and assume I won't this month. All OPKs have been super negative. But oh well. We're getting help so I'm happy.

Even tho ur chart is half done, i see a temp shift. How often do you do opks? maybe ur surge was short and u missed it. Did u get ovulation pain or fertile cm?

I usually do get ewcm, or at least a ton of watery. But didn't get any this month. Also, I do OPKs twice a day. So I definitely didn't miss the surge. They never even got kind of dark.

The only temp that might be is would be today. But like I said it doesn't seem like it.

We will see what ur temp is tomorrow. What time do you do opks?
What are they gonna do after DH's SA results? Do you have any other test left?

I hav really bad headache today, i dont think i ever had this kinda headache before, its making my eyes water and twitch. Working on comp just makes it worse. I hope its a pregnancy symptom :) i should be 5-6dpo today if i ovulated.

I hope it is a pregnancy symptom for you!!!

This was the last test. So once they call back I'll be scheduling an appointment. For us to go in and meet our new doctor.

I do OPKs with smu and at night. Both with about a 4 hour hold and very little to drink in between. If my test have anything more than completely negative I'll even do a FMU one. So I test a lot.

Thats great u are done with all the tests. I hope u get a good caring doctor:hugs:

Thanks golden!
I forgot to fax the paperwork. So they called and gave me the fax number. Now I'm waiting for them to call AGAIN! They're pretty fast but not fast enough for me. Lol

I know! they seem to be fast. Mine took forever because i was seeing a specialist and he is always booked p months in advance.

I think they will give you clomid for sure and that will make you ovulate.

My appointment is next Thursday. Mine is a specialist too. But they don't really hand out referrals very often. You have to be going to the doctor AND actively Ttc for at least a year. The regular gyn try's to help as much as possible and if they can't then they'll send you to the infertility specialist.

Hey ladies! Cd22 today and last night was horrible. I was sweating and shivering cold at the same time, had stomach acne and headache which is still present. I barely slept until 5am and then my brother called saying sister in law is going to labour. Right now we are at hospital waiting for the baby to come.
