Um...what is the Group B Strep test like?

I have an appt. tomorrow and completely forgot that I'm getting this test.

What do they do to you for this test?
Is it painful?
And how long does it take to get results

It's a vaginal and rectal swab..
They'll use a long q-tip like thing and just do a swab.
Not painful or anything!

Alot of doctors/midwives just let you go to the bathroom and do it yourself.

Well from what I have read, some doctors swipe the outside of your anus and your vagina and some only swipe your vagina.
Depends on the doctor I guess.

I bet it's different everywhere. I had mine last week and there was no rectal swab. He just stuck the giant q tip in and out. It was over so fast and I didn't feel a thing. I wasn't told how long it takes to get the results, just that if it was positive I'd have to have antibiotics during delivery.

yeah, good thing I asked on here or else my reaction when getting a swab up my bum would be
ahem....thats not my vagina!

Over here, they give us the swab test to take home to do ourselves. We only have to do our foof, and take it to mw and they send it off to pathology for us. I got my results at my next mw visit.

lol..not that far just a quick in and out of the out edge. It doesn't hurt and you can barely feel them doing it. Took about 10 seconds for the entire test. The worst part is getting undressed and waiting with the paper sheet they give us here to cover ourselves.

LOL...They didn't have to go into my bum!!!
It was like a pelvic exam for me.
Luckily i tested negative.
