Uploading photos?

I have always been able to upload pics from my camera/sd card before (it has been a while though). Today it said the file was too large. How can I get it smaller to upload it?

Nevermind, I uploaded it to photobucket first, then was able to embed it.

Any photo's I use on here are usually on my facebook page too. I download them from there and the file size is much smaller xx
