VBAC info/support

you guys are going to think I am not the brightest lol but what is a cannula?

edit: I looked it up and it's an iv :blush:

Lol. Yeah, the needle in your hand, all ready for a ga in emergency situations :)

I'm at Liverpool women's hospital, there was no mention of wireless monitoring. When I spoke about not being able to move with the monitor on, the dr nodded.

I have a small (but wonky) horizontal scar, the usual kind, closed with staples xx

Ok a couple things.

You're in the uk - here WE decide how we labour and doctors have no choice, they HAVE TO agree. So if you want intermittent monitoring then say so - its your choice.

If your scar is the lower incision, you are at a lower risk than an older vertical scar, so no issues there...

Obviously I'm not medically trained and don't know your complete history but from my point of view you are a perfect candidate for a vbac.

Have u spoken to your midwife? I would ask her to arrange an appointment with the chief or head midwife of labour ward to discuss your concerns. Ask her about wireless monitoring and a water birth. My consultant was exactly the same as yours, no to everything. But the hospital midwife was much better and more accommodating xx

Thanks hun.
I have a meeting with the head mw in the next couple of weeks.
I will be asking for exactly what I want x

Hello ladies
Just a quick post to let you know I got my VBAC on Sunday evening. I am exhausted but so excited and in shock at the same time ;). I will post my birth story as soon as I get a chance.

Hi ladies :flower::flower:
So I had some bleeding and had to have an u/s. Bubs is great and HEAD DOWN!!! I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to have a baby that was head down after my breech baby, but she is head down :happydance::happydance:

Also, she is 4 lbs 11 oz which puts her in the 68th percentile. She is measuring 33 weeks 5 days. My chunky monkey. I shared a picture of her. She is a little squished.
