Do any of you just warm bottles up by sticking the bottle in a pot of hot water instead of using a bottle warmer? If so, how long do you need to leave the bottle in there for (for a newborn baby)?

My mum always did when she looked after mine but I have a warmer as didnt want to be messing with a kettle while holding baby.
How long you leave it depends on the amount of milk, you just need to test it on your wrist.

I do. From chilled it takes a few mins (less than 5) to bring it up to body temperature. HTH

That's all we ever did up until a week ago. We would either make the formula fresh and cool it in a tub of cold water, or make it cold and heat it in a tub. It only takes about 5 minutes either way, but you shoudl check the temperature regularly, or else it will get too hot or too cold, and then you have to get it the right tem again; it's a whole load of faffing you just don't have time for
