Ok, first of all let me say this. I'm not sure if these type of pictures are even allowed on bnb. If they are not I am sorry, my intention is not to violate rules. I just wanted to put my pictures out there for those people going through something similar.

I had my laparoscopy and hysteroscopy surgery on Feb. 16. My Dr. FS/RE is amazing. After surgery he gave my husband a DVD with a ton of pictures and even video of both procedures! I was amazed. It was like having a small post-op appt right when we got home from the hospital. He talks to me in the videos and it's in terms I can understand.

Anyway during surgery he found stage II endometriosis. The worst of it was in my posterior cul-de-sac where the endometriosis had actually made holes! So I thought I would share my pictures because I have searched high and low on the internet and have found close to nothing of anything similar to my pictures.

I also included a picture of what it looks like from the inside when they do a dye test (tubal chromotubation). It's like an HSG minus the x-ray portion. They just see if it leaks out of your tubes or not from a laparoscopic view. The two pictures with the blue fluid looking stuff is that portion of my surgery.

Picture 1 - Two holes caused by endometriosis on the right side Posterior Cul-De-Sac.

Picture 2 - Same scenario, left side.

Picture 3 - Blue dye leaking from my right tube.

Picture 4 - Blue dye leaking from my left tube after Dr. unblocked it.

I'm glad you all fixed now, and good luck!

hey there... I just had this surgery too I was told I have endo on the outside of my uterus (i dont know the correct terms sorry!!) my tubes were clear too. I'm not for the next 6 months being put on a hormonal implant to make me have menopause! how bout u?? are u just continuing to TTC???

Thanks for sharing... I wish I had pics from my surgeries ....hehe I also had one of my tubes removed as it was blocked.

Wow I am currently 2months post lap surgery and still awaiting follow up. Excellent doctors to have given you such detailed post op info. Glad to hear you're feeling better x

Wow, I have heard of some women being put on medication to suppress the endo from returning right after laps but I thought that was only if they were not ttc. Did they remove the endo?? Are you seeing a FS? My dr. knows I want to get pregnant asap so he said to try one natural cycle which I'm at the tail end of, tested - today :(

Next cycle we are doing letrozole(femara) and ovidrel, maybe iui. He said my husbands SA was so good that IUI would only increase our chances about 2%. He left it up to us. I think we will do it though because 2% is 2%, right?!

Good luck to you!

Can I ask if you are you ttcing? Have you noticed any difference in your cycle???

Yes we have been ttc for 14months (just got af number 13 today) and my cycles since the lap have been pretty regular at 30, 30 and 29 so I can't complain. The only difference I noticed was that my first ovulation after the lap was very painful and my first af was quite heavy but otherwise all seems pretty normal. I am now scheduled a follow up next Friday to discuss our next step. I have no idea what that might be...

I'm finding it strange too that we have to go on this meds now after the surgey, as I too thought fertility was supposed to be better after the op...we've been tryin for quite a while now (i'm a bit sad we have to put
ttc on hold while i have these hormonal implants:cry:)

He said he lasered the endo but didn't tell me how bad other than it's on my uterus, tubes clear too. don't why i'm going on this implant injection other than to give my body a rest... literaly i'm having it done in 2weeks after my next AF???

Did your doc tell you how bad the endo was? I have been hearing about a lot of ladies who are taking these drugs to make their bodies go into menopause. I had surgery in November, and have been TTC ever since. The endo didn't cause any scarring or do any damage to my uterus, I assume thats why i was given the go ahead to keep trying.

I wonder what the difference between us is? I'm not a Dr by any means, but its interesting that there are two totally different ways of dealing with endo post op.

Having said this, I've been TTC ever since surgery with zero luck, and will be heading back to the Dr. in May to discuss more options.

I'm wondering what the difference is too. I know that there are different ways of treating endo, but to put someone who is ttc on meds to make her menopause, even if temporary, seems counter-productive to me. I guess I don't really know enough about it all but it would be nice to figure out. Maybe I will look through some bnb threads tonight or have a session with dr. google:)

I'm sorry that you are feeling sad about all of this. I know sometimes we have to do things that don't make us happy for the sake of our health but this seems different. Maybe you could give your dr. a call and ask if this is your only/best option. If so, ask him to really explain why he thinks this is your best option, that way you can be sure of it too.

Those pictures are insane, I can't believe the endo actually made holes!
How did you find your cycle was after the procedure? I had mine over 2 weeks ago, and I was due for AF a couple of days after, but it still hasn't come. Was your period delayed at all? This waiting is driving me nuts....

Thanks for sharing! My gynae brushed off my whole procedure and avoided ALL questions! I have since been back to my FS (who got me pregnant on my first IUI with my son), and he was apalled! He said it appears my gynae did nothing but put dye through my tubes! He found 2 massive cysts and clusters of cysts all over. I suffer from pcos but he said it was likely they were growing for quite some time! Im glad my instinct told me to get a second opinion. It seems you have a great doctor! I certainly wont be moving from my fs again!
