Warning! Graphic Laparoscopy Surgery Pictures

Those pictures are insane, I can't believe the endo actually made holes!
How did you find your cycle was after the procedure? I had mine over 2 weeks ago, and I was due for AF a couple of days after, but it still hasn't come. Was your period delayed at all? This waiting is driving me nuts....

I know! I couldn't believe it either! I was actually put on birth control for about 5 weeks leading up to surgery. I took the last pill on the night before surgery. I wasn't really in a cycle, or I should say I was lost within a cycle. I had the bleed from the surgery, it stopped and then two days later I had another bleed which I didn't think was af until 11 days later when I O'd. That is the cycle I am currently in so I haven't really had a full cycle since op. I got a bfn 10dpo and I am spotting today(13dpo) which most likely means af is about to arrive, hopefully it's not delayed though because I just want to move on to next cycle which will be my first medicated one. Waiting stinks!!!

Did you bleed after surgery? If you did, maybe your surgery bleed ran into af?? Have you been opking? I know I was so confused that I just started opking as soon as the bleeding stopped. I got my +opk and thats how I figured out that I had af right after my surgery bleed. Good luck and baby dust!

Thanks for sharing! My gynae brushed off my whole procedure and avoided ALL questions! I have since been back to my FS (who got me pregnant on my first IUI with my son), and he was apalled! He said it appears my gynae did nothing but put dye through my tubes! He found 2 massive cysts and clusters of cysts all over. I suffer from pcos but he said it was likely they were growing for quite some time! Im glad my instinct told me to get a second opinion. It seems you have a great doctor! I certainly wont be moving from my fs again!

Your son so sooo cute!!!

That's what it is all about! Following your instincts and being your own advocate!!! I wouldn't trade my fs for any other! My gyn is great and he got me started in the right direction but my fs is just amazing. Are you going to have another lap? IUI?? Good luck to you!!!

Well that's the thing I did bleed after the surgery, but this didn't stop just after one or two days, I spotted for two weeks after that! I my view there wasn't a real FLOW within that 2 weeks, but I guess it is possible it could have been AF following on from my 'op' bleed as I always tend to spot post period, which is kinda how they knew I may have had Endo.

Given that I have been waiting for AF to arrive, I haven't done any charting (incl. OPK'ing), but we have been BD'ing over the last couple of days which would fall into my ovulation time (if it was AF after the op)?! Gosh I hate all this wondering/wishing/hoping, I am just dying for the day when my cycle returns to normal.

Baby Dust to you too. I will keep you posted with how things go...:headspin:

hey there... I just had this surgery too I was told I have endo on the outside of my uterus (i dont know the correct terms sorry!!) my tubes were clear too. I'm not for the next 6 months being put on a hormonal implant to make me have menopause! how bout u?? are u just continuing to TTC???

Did your doc tell you how bad the endo was? I have been hearing about a lot of ladies who are taking these drugs to make their bodies go into menopause. I had surgery in November, and have been TTC ever since. The endo didn't cause any scarring or do any damage to my uterus, I assume thats why i was given the go ahead to keep trying.

I wonder what the difference between us is? I'm not a Dr by any means, but its interesting that there are two totally different ways of dealing with endo post op.

Having said this, I've been TTC ever since surgery with zero luck, and will be heading back to the Dr. in May to discuss more options.

That's what i'm wondering what is the difference between us too! He just told me the endo was on my uterus but didn't say how bad scarring, damage etc. The only info I can find is that ppl that have a lap, then find they have endo don't generally go on this menopause treatment unless they're NOT TTC, I'm wondering if he's doing it to make it reduce further??? I don't see the point in doing it so early myself...if it's not really that bad!!:shrug: i thought we could have a few months try 1st...well I just got my AF today a week early than normal, now I have to contact my gyn to arrange the shot, so I guess i'll find out more info in a few days (the poor guy aint gonna know what hit him with all my questions!!!:haha: )

I'm wondering what the difference is too. I know that there are different ways of treating endo, but to put someone who is ttc on meds to make her menopause, even if temporary, seems counter-productive to me. I guess I don't really know enough about it all but it would be nice to figure out. Maybe I will look through some bnb threads tonight or have a session with dr. google:)

Agree with u totally!! Just waiting 1 month to find out if ur preg is bad enough...now 6 months of shots and another 3 months before we can even be safe to try again doesn't sound like any fun to me at all!!!!

From wat I can gather from looking on line is that it's generally used to reduce pain, (I dont suffer from pain, hence only finding out about endo with the lap) not for infertility....:shrug:

Just wanted to update. First full cycle post-op, bfn :( But much less pain than normal cycles except for af which came with a vengeance!! Extra painful and heavier than normal for me. Soooo... tomorrow I have my baseline ultrasound to start on letrozole(femara). Good luck everyone and baby dust!

Just to reassure you my first af was also very heavy and painful but the next 2 have been much lighter and far less painful than before the op... hopefully this will be the case for you aswell! Good luck with femara! Hope it leads to a lovely bfp for you x

Babywishes, Bugger that you didn't get your BFP, ah well onwards and upwards to the next cycle huh! I just came off the back of my ovulation time, wow, it was painful, so I am thinking I will be in the same boat as you when/if AF does arrive. I am not holding out hope for this cycle, but guess we will wait and see. how long did your AF stay around for, was it the same period of time as before you had the op? What was the outcome from the u/sound?

Yes, have to stay positive each cycle! Yeah, ovulation was about the same as normal, but af was killer! I, pre-op, had short(2days) and light/medium af. This af was four days and super super heavy! I couldn't believe how much I was bleeding, it almost kinda scared me until it slowed down. U/S was short and sweet, ovaries and uterus were 'quiet' which is what they like to see before meds. I am on day 3 of letrozole 5mg. No side effects really, just kinda starting to feel my ovaries twinge every now and again. Follicle scan is on Tuesday!!!

So glad something finally happened with you though! I know for a while there you were stuck waiting! Fingers crossed for you! Hopefully lots of O pain = strong O = BFP for you!!! :dust:

Wanted to say thank you for sharing :)

I have had 2 LAPs and also have pics from both of them. It is very interesting to me to see the difference between stages and just how different it can grow in a women's body. :hugs:

I was diagnosied with stage 2 endo at age 18, then stage 4 endo at age 20. We have been TTC for over a year now. We are doing medicated IUI in May. Hoping for better luck then the rounds of clomid we did :(

When I was 18 I also did the 2 rounds (6months) total of depo lupron, the shot definately put me into early menopause. I am currently in a medical program (going to work in an infertility center) and I am just amazed at how many women are having trouble conceiving  it is truly sad and heartbreaking :hugs: if you have any questions, feel free to ask! Good luck girls :)

baby, gosh I am scared now that you say that about how your AF was, as since I came off the Clomid last year I haven't had a decent AF, which is leading me to think my first one post op is going to be a biggin!! I guess this will mean the lining will be thick and healthy in readiness for my little egg to implant itself :baby: Nothing indicating a :bfp: so far this cycle but I guess its too soon since O.

I have really noticed that my body has reacted quite well from the Op, my moods have settled down heaps, which is great! Can't believe I waited so long to have the op done. Still have a couple of weeks wait before I see my specialist, I am dying to hear the extended version of my prognosis!

That's good that you are feeling some twinges here and there, that means SOMETHING is being stimulated, which I guess is better than nothing being felt. Fingers crossed the 2nd scan doesn't show up any nasties... is you other half feeling confident about things?

Hey baby2wishes! Wow, we have similar journeys! I am still ttc #1, but had my lap & hysteroscopy at the end of march. Stage 3 endo was found & removed along with 2 fibroids! My TE showed the pictures to DH and I think he is scarred for life! Lol! I thought it was pretty cool!! Good luck to you!

Thanks for posting on here, just realized I hadn't looked at this thread in a while.

I see there are a couple of bfps! Congrats ladies!!!!

tlm - yeah my husband was pretty taken aback as well. He popped the dvd in as soon as we got home and I almost vomitted. Not what I wanted to see RIGHT AFTER surgery... lol!!! After the initial - ewws - we kept watching it over and over. You are on the Mothers Day IUI thread right? Is this your first IUI? If not, how did the others go?? Were/are you on any meds? I really didn't think that after such a successful lap I would be needing treatment like this but hey, whatever it takes!

Yeah, I know what you mean about having so much endo removed you would think we would get pg the next cycle immediately, right!? Yes, I am on the Mothers Day iui thread too! This is my second iui. Both times I have followed the same protocol, 50mg Clomid days 3-7, Ovidrel trigger, and iui. The only difference this round was we bd the night of iui and the following night, and I am also temping this cycle. My follicles were the largest I have ever seen them and early too this cycle. I went for u/s at day 11 and had 1 on each side measuring 22mm and at least one more good size on the left. I am a little perplexed though, last cycle my boobs started killing me the day after trigger and this time nothing yet... How are you feeling??

P.s. - I think I sent you a friend request too! :)

Wow - you're cycle sounds really promising!!!! I'm not feeling a thing, either. Maybe that's a good sign?!?!? How many cycles have you had since lap?? I accepted your request, you are my first friend!!
