When did you start offering water? Now LO is on 3x meals most days do I need to offer water?

With my first son at 6months, he would get milk first thing in the morning with his breakfast and if he was thirsty in the mean time I gave him water. Then he would have milk with his lunch mainly because he wanted to nap strait after and water with his dinner and milk for his supper with half a slice of toast but he was bottle fed after. 4months so I don't know how it would work with bf?

I will also stalk for advice x

My HV said that we could start giving DS water when he was 12 weeks old, though we haven't yet done this. Even was told to use more old fashioned style sippy cups (Tommee Tippee is the closest we've found) as it should help prepare him for when we start weaning at 6 months, not sure how true this is though.

Once babies are eating solids you can introduce small amounts of water. Before then, EBF babies don't need it.

I've always given a drink in a sippy cup with meals (sometimes needed to wash down chunks of food when BLW!!)

I started offering water in a sippy cup as soon as I started offering food.

I started around 6 months, but not very consistently. Violet still uses breast milk as her primary form of hydration at 14 months.
