weight loss and breastfeeding?

i dont know if its the breastfeeding but i seem to be losing a bit everyday

I lost all but 5lbs of my baby weight in the first month without trying. Then it stalled. I eat loads though and drink too much lemonade, seems BFing makes you hungry so if you don't eat the right things the weight won't shift.

I put on 50 lbs during pregnancy.
After the birth, I was breastfeeding exclusively and by two weeks post-partum, I had lost 25 lbs. At six weeks, I had shed another 10 lbs.
Since then, the weight loss has slowed. I am not BFing exclusively anymore, but I think that once I do stop completely, some of the remaining weight will go. The rest will definitely need diet and exercise.
And while I am now about 10 lbs off my pre-preg weight, I do have some clothes from a few years ago when I was heavier than I am now (by a good 15 lbs!), and they don't fit very well in the bum, upper thighs and belly. The lower belly, in particular. It's like my hips kind of widened and the fat came along to help pad them out even more! :(

i have huge hips and i haven't been preg yet =[

I breastfed Sam for a year and ended up weighing less than I did before I got pregnant with him (without doing anything else to lose weight apart from running around after him!) so I'm sure it helped. It definitely made me hungry too, so I was eating more than usual and still managed to lose weight x

Definitely! I lost all but 10 pounds by the 6 month mark, and by 8 months, I was 8 pounds lighter than pre-preg! :happydance:

Ok I don't breastfeed I express but I guess it will have the same effect? I was 6st 7 pre pregnancy, 8st 7 at 35 weeks and I'm currently sitting at 7st 4. I was v lucky that my stomach was totally flat immediately after my csection but thereagain I only had a teeny bump. In my frustration as to where this 3/4st is hiding I got my OH to hold my boobs up so I could see if that was why I still weighed so much more than pre pregnancy and my weight went down to 6st 11 so without my new huuuuge boobs I'm still 5lbs heavier than pre pregnancy but I'm hoping that will go at some point if I carry on expressing (although the biccies and daily Magnum aren't helping, oops!)

It will work the same Lottie as your body still uses the calories to make the milk :)

Well I had my son 10 days ago, weighed myself today and I'm back to my pre preg weight :happydance: (although I still have have a flabby saggy belly lol) and I've been eating normally and the only exercise I've had is a walk to the shops every day since 2 days after he was born and then one 2mile walk on Thursday, so I've not been working out or anything.
