Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Saying that, I've just read Fifty Shades of Grey and I'm reading the second book of the trilogy now. Wow, thats enough to put anyone in the mood. Have any of you ladies read it? WOW! Steamy and very descriptive!

OMG!! I just finished the first one and started on book two this past weekend!! Isn't it CRAZY!!!??? Intense to say the least!

Oh yes, it is that. I read the first one in 3 days on my new Kindle. I struggled to put it down. I actually cried yesterday in the car at the end of the first one. :sad2: I think I got a bit too involved in it. I've never cried reading a book before. :dohh:

I would have cried had I not had the second book already! :haha:

I have a Nook...Barnes & Nobles version of the "Kindle." Those little gadgets make reading so much easier!! :)

Well, I've just done an OPK and it shows a very feint line, so hopefully I'll be ovulating at some point in the next few days, I'll do another test tomorrow and report.

HEHE.. I just did an OPK and I got the happy face! So not only did the blood say I was surging, now my OPK does too! YIPPEE! :wohoo:!

Yippee for Ali!!! :happydance::happydance::happydance:

:hugs:Can't wait til you post a picture of yout BFP!!!

Let's just hope that it works! Looks like 14 days will be July 24th. So sometime between now and then I'll know! EEK.. scary!

Thanks Ali, I'll think of you on my next Doctors visit, hopefully you'll help me to put my foot down. I've just turned 37 btw.

Yes! Pretend you are me (or Coy) as we are both pretty assertive  I'm turning 40 in October, so I'm a few years ahead of you. I have a friend that said her periods stopped coming but for every 2-3 months, like you. She wasn't trying to conceive so the Dr put her on BCP, and now she is regular. She mentioned that if she had been trying to conceive the Dr was going to put her on metformin if that didn't get things going they were going to add clomid. She was diagnosed with PCOS, which is why she wasn't having her period as often. Could this be the reason your periods are so long?

Ali, yes, I have PCOS, well, I was diagnosed with it about 20 years ago, I mentioned it to the doc, asking him if it was that causing the pain. He just poked around at me and said he could feel an inflamed ligament, so put it down as groin strain. I'm sure its a cyst there causing it, but if the pain is still there, I will go back for that second opinion.

I wish I could be assertive, I'm often being told I'm too soft. Even my Hubby tells me that, but then he is very similar too.

Oooo, I love being assertive! It helps me get my way and what I want :smug: LOL! You can do it- just keep reminding yourself that you are bringing this doctor business and (s)he is getting paid to assist YOU--not the other way around. So demand what you want and see your doc make it happen :haha: My doc has actually been surprised several times at my research and employed some diff techniques that he ordinarily would not have (e.g., certain types of progesterone, etc) so all of your efforts in charting, researching, and just knowing your body is something your doc needs to take note of and use in your favor

Well, its only 8.30pm, but I'm off to bed to read a bit more of Mr Grey, before Hubby comes to bed.

Night all, speak to you tomorrow. x

I think I'm assertive because I've been single so long. So if I want something done, I have to stand up for myself and get it done! I'm with Coy. You are paying for his services (whether through your taxes or directly) so you need to make sure that you are being properly taken care of. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want. You might be surprised and get it :)

Ugh, now I am getting all stressed out again! It's like the world doesn't want me to enjoy the pregnancy process :nope: Every time I feel we are getting to a point where I can relax (neigbors, finances, etc) something hits me hard and has me stressing again. I think the biggest stress of it all is that right now I cannot get out there and be agressive... Anyway, I just needed to rant for a minute! :haha: Helps me out, thanks ladies!

Hope you all don't mind me posting another bump pic? I think it has been about 2 weeks or so since the last one  Is the bump getting any bigger? Sure feels like it! :haha:

Hey Alin, yes, my name is Tracey, I'm sure your 'o' is on its way, my temps have gone all over the place the last few days, very spiky.

Coy, I can't see much, if any difference, but what I can see is that you have such a cute little bump. Gorgeous picture. x

That looks like a perfect bump:thumbup: very cute...can`t comment if it looks bigger as I didn`t see last photo

Afm I think I got a faint positive today..maybe. Not hopeful though getting faint line (if it is one) at 20dpo seems not good for levels

Claire, are you sure you didn't ovulate on CD21? Just had a quick look at your chart and it looks like its possible FF misplotted. Did you do any OPKs? If this is the case, you wouldn't be as far into your luteal phase. I can definitely see a line there. Congrats, I'll keep everything crossed for you that its sticky. x

Thanx x I didn`t do opk but I was wondering if the dip at 4dpo CD21 could have been O day. I was unwell with a stomach bug then so my temps could have been a little off when FF said I Od. Glad other people can see the line tho just gotta keep everything crossed that we get a sticky one. Its just so hard to be optimistic with my history.

How are you today :)

i see it too and that looks like a nice pg chart, agree with coy on the ov date as well

Thanx..I discarded 2 of the temps & FF has moved my crosshairs to CD21. Which does make more sense as Coy & yourself say.
Kinda shell shocked as I had kinda given up hoping on a BFP from this cycle.:happydance:

Coy: you look fantastic!

Claire: YAY!!! Congratulations! Hoping it's sticky :)

Awh! Coy...you are stunning! A vision in green! :)

So Claire!! Is there a BFP? I read where there was a faint line...

Talk to me! I'm so excited for you!!! :winkwink:
