Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali- :haha: You are truly a woman in control! "Waiting for my sperm to be defrosted" is about the most powerful comment a woman can make! :haha:  Way to go girl! lol
Claire- that is DEF a :bfp: lady! Can't wait to see the next fmu pic tomorrow!  Yay!
Jess- thanks for the compliment, it's nice to hear when I am feeling fat and out of shape, lol! How's the work-outs going? I shall live vicariously through your descriptions LOL! Your energy is amazing :) P.S. Your comment to Ali "Are your legs up int he air?" :haha: Too funny! (But practical, yes I did this too, lol)

:hi: to all you ladies today!~ I have a "day off" so am going to try and de-stress and work out in the yard today  Yesterday was a low day (when it rains it pours, right? lol) but today is better :)

Yes, holding the sperm and using the heat from my hands to defrost the sperm was quite a moment! There was a woman in the waiting room with me and she was eyeing me curiously so I explained that these were the :spermy: of a pro golfer and that he was my sperm donor. She started asking me all sorts of questions and then I showed her a picture of him. :haha:  Here is a picture of the donor..

Coy.. glad you are taking a break, and relaxing, you need to do that!

OK everyone I know I shouldn't say this, but I just FEEL that this is it. Hopefully I'm right, or I'm going to be a sad girl in 2 weeks!! For right now I'm going to do the
:happydance::yipee::wohoo::headspin::haha:

So Sorry to hear about your nephew but wow, what a positive attitude for him to have. A great example! Hope he and your family are doing okay.

Ok...so I know I have been MIA for the last week or so. My 14 year old nephew was playing outside with some of his friends and my two younger newphews and a freak accident happened.
The pinky and ring finger of his left hand were severed. It was so hard to deal with. My brother and I are extremely close. We talk every day and see each other at least once a week. My sister in law has been in my life since I was 16. She is like a sister to me. AND our children are close as well. When I got the call on last Tuesday night that my nephew was on the way to the ER in an ambulance I freaked out!! My brother is already nervous about him starting high school because he is so small. He is 4'11" and weighs only 60lbs. He is going to a really BIG high school. And now he has to start high school with two fingers missing.

But, he is an awesome kid and is doing great. If I didn't know before, I certainly know now that he does not have any self esteem issues!! He is making jokes about his hand telling everyone to give him high "3" instead of high 5. He was bouncing around on a pogo stick yesterday, and playing video games with my son all weekend. He has a cast on his hand and has not seen what it looks like, but he knows 2 of his fingers are gone. But like I said...he is an AWESOME kid with a great personality and a fantastic outlook on life.

AFM...I am on CD 24. Don't really feel any different and I am not expecting too much this month. I am still working out quite a bit but I just can't help it. That has been a part of my lifestyle for so many years, it is darn near impossible not to workout.

How is everyone else?

Ali...how is Canada? Do you have your appt scheduled yet?

Coy...how are you feeling?

~~Jess

Looks great!

Hope you all don't mind me posting another bump pic? I think it has been about 2 weeks or so since the last one  Is the bump getting any bigger? Sure feels like it! :haha:

Fingers crossed!

I got to see the little swimmers.. they were really active and flopping and moving all over the place! The were like little silver tadpoles! :haha:
I also got to keep the vial that they came in.
They tested my LH which was 56 and my E2 was 621 and P4 was 3.06
Apparently that is all great! I'll ovulate some time tonight and the E2 is going down and the P4 was rising.
Now I'm just waiting for the swimmers to make their way up the Fallopian tubes before I head back to the cottage!

Ali!! I am super excited for you!! Are your legs up in the air? :haha: I always think about that movie "The Back-Up Plan" with JLo...

 I forgot about that! The nurse insisted that they won't come back out. That the discharge in feeling right now is my EWCM, even the Dr commented on how much was up there! YAY! I wonder how long I need to stick around?

They didn't tell you how long to stay? So are you just chillin' in the waiting room?

Just hanging out in the exam room lying on my back with my knees up.. I guess they want you to wait for a while do the swimmers find their way!

Today is my third day on follistim and I have had horrible headaches the past couple of days. I hear this is a side effect but oh my heck!
I went and did blood work today and tomorrow I start menopur and then more bloodwork and ultrasound on Thursday.
It seems like the bleeding is finally lightening up a bit...probably from the extra hormones :)
Hope you are all doing well. Seems like quite a few of us are on the right track this month! Good luck and baby dust to all!

Coy... you, by no stretch of the imagination, look fat and out of shape! You are the picture of lovliness!! And I dare someone to disagree with me!!:gun:
...the workouts are going GREAT!! I just got back from my lunchtime run...I am at an 8.5 minute mile...well, as long as I don't go over 3 miles! :haha: Once I'm over three miles, my time drops to an average 9 minute mile...But, I am NOT trying to be a runner, so I'm ok with that. :winkwink:

Boooo on the headache! I'm sorry you are having to go through that...but it will all be worth it in the end!! :)

I hope you start feeling better soon!!:hugs:

WOW! That is pretty good for a non-runner :) I wish I could run, but with my DD bbs, that is pretty much impossible. I do love to swim and bike, and one day I want to do a triathalon, won't be this summer though! :haha: I agree with you about Coy, she looks fantastic, and her Dr needs to go have his eyes examined!! HEHE. :haha:

gncope - sounds like things are going right for you too this month! Hopefully the headaches go away, that is never any fun :( Feel better!

Jess- now see, that's the energy I'm talking about! When you use your lunch hour for running! :haha: As you are planning on temping this time around will you be using FF so we can see your chart or ...? I liked tem[ping, made me feel like I was doing something in the tww besides waiting :haha:

Ali- got my fx'd for you! And that "good" feeling--hang on to that, it is funny but your body sometimes just "knows" you know? When I got prego this time, during the tww I just felt awesome....really positive. So  and fx'd!!

I am not familiar with FF...I guess I better figure it out soon! I would love to share it with everyone...

Yeah, I had trouble figuring out how to post it in my signature for everyone but finally got it! Then I did something goofy the other day and accidentally deleted it...but since I'm not temping at the mo I figured  lol. I think where I found it most useful is in just keeping track...

Coy...I just noticed that you got your BFP on my 40th birthday!! You don't even want to know the hell my trainer put me through on that day! Lol! He said it was my special birthday workout... everything had to do with the number 40! It was insane! So while you were relishing in the aftermath of your BFP ...I was being tortured in the gym! :haha:

Lol, sounds like you have an awesome trainer! I love when they don't treat women like, well, wimps...:haha: My dh is that way. But I have to tell him when he is teaching me martial arts to not pull punches. He always pauses, then says quietly, "But I can't hit you..." LOL! What can a girl do. He is teaching me tiger-style fighting- this is where a woman learnes to fight from the ground (that's supposedly the first place they end up ) so I think that's cool.

Do you run in the extreme heat too? I have always heard that running is great for the body but always had trouble pacing myself. What's your trick on that? Usually I start out slow and my feet just start picking up speed and then I am totally winded in a short distance. I used to ski (crosscountry) in Alaska everyday and improved my lung capacity and lowered my bp alot so want to get back at it. I figure where I am at now running is next best thing?

Coy...I do train in the heat...as a matter of fact, the gym where I workout has no central air or heat in the main part of the gym...so in the summer time it can reach in upwards of 118!! But I drink plenty of water...I hydrate all day long so by the time I get to the gym, I am not trying to play "catch-up" with my water. Also, it is a gradual change so everyone there that works out on a regular basis gets used to it. We are kind of like Pavlov's Frogs in the boiling water!! :haha:
But I don't plan on actually cooking myself to death!!! :haha:
I run on my lunch break, but I take an early lunch break...usually around 10am when it is a little cooler outside. My distances vary anywhere from 2 miles to 5 miles...
On the weekends I run at 7:30 in the morning...it is nice and cool then!!

Wow! You are an inspiration to us all. Yes, please do not become a failed research experiment and cook yourself to death! You definitely had me LOL on that one!

Thanks Jess- now all I see are frogs boiling in water LOL! That's how I'm gonna feel in about ten minutes...All I am doing is going out to mow the grass but hey- it gets hot  lol! Plan on hosing myself down. If the creepy neighbor guy is spying through his window he'll catch me all soaked down in my t-shirt with no bra on....too bad for him I am all prego  Sick-o guy...Btw he is so wierd. He used tinfoil to cover the window in his garage door adjacent to our back yard...but he cut a tiny peep hole and sits in the garage and watches us through the peep! Wierd-O.
