Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Only 7 of those eggs fertilized! WOW! I had hoped for a much better count! He is also thinking that we may wait until Wednesday to do the transfer. HMM. That is going to mess everything up. No more 5 day weekend! He said he would call tomorrow to let me know.

Ali- Pic? What Pic? It didn't post :brat: LOL!
Nope, I wasn't up ALL night, but close...the girls slept all the night through without a whimper so wouldn't you know it- here I go and set my alarm to go off every 2 hours so I can check their temperatures! Silly me! And awesome thing is not one temp all night long, no fever at all :happydance:. Kat still with no fever today so far and T just a very mild 99.6, so I think we are on the mend  Dh and I worry terribly about them always worse when they are sick, he was up all night too checking them :haha: How are you feeling today? Tired I bet with all the pain and wakefulness. I wouldn't be surprised if excitement has a little teeny bitt o do with that too :happydance: Can't wait for Monday! Isn't the left side the one the nurse was sitting on? How big was this gal? Did she jump up and down or what :growlmad: Hope you start to feel better soon! And whtf? Wednesday? Wth is up with that?:growlmad: Is this a doctor scheduling "I've gott a lunch" issue or what? Ooo I would be upset!! Hopefully you get to the bottom of it (and I know you will :bodyb: lol) and get your Monday ET!

Terri- wow, 4 days away sounds awesome, I am glad you and your dh have the opportunity to do so and enjoy each other's company so well. My dh and I used to just get a wild hair and take off and not come back till we found our way back, but after first dd was born we stopped all that :haha: We still spend tons of time together (best friends makes it nice :)) but no more unplanned unprepared stuff :) I forget if I have asked this before but have you talked to your doc about trying to shorten your cycles? Have you considered IUI maybe you have a cm issue  It is tough when your cycles are so long as you have to wait so much and I know that can be nerve wracking. ALso I was wondering if you had dh's swimmers checked...sorry if too personal but we sorta discuss "it all" on here don't we? :haha:

Babywhisperer- sounds like you are doing everything perfect this cycle and trying new things  Got my fx'd for you! Wow, I am happy for your friend with the twins! Twins would be awesome and awesomely scary at the same time:haha: Your poor brother, but it goes with the territory right? He sounds like a toughie to me  As far as your question on whether I slowed down at all...nope, I am still running but running in place now :haha: Not getting a darned thing done but still going!

AFM: Hm, tired today but so happy the dd's are on the mend. Dh spent half the night recording old cartoons for them like Gumby and He-Man  LOL! He did so that they will have something to watch and keep them occupied while I am schooling today  Plus, he likes He-Man :haha: He's a big kid with them :cloud9: Today (as I mentioned) I have one assignment in school then think I will try to ficus ont heir closet. Dh and I talked and decided if the baby comes early their room is a priority :sad1: lol! So I will get that done, then the garage. Plus dh is helping with the garage so we should get it all done in time  Oh, and we did the bleeding of the hydraulic clutch on our pickup the other day and it didn't seem to help  so we called the guy and he said sometimes you have to let it sit and slowly bleed over a day or two. Well, we did that and now the cluth is a ton tougher to push down! So I am hoping that fixed the issue and the gears will shift now w/o having to kill the engine :happydance: If that is the case I am cleaning that baby up and planting my car seats and booster seats!

Oh, Ali- still 7 is pretty darned awesome considering under regular circumstances of bd'ing during ov time a woman generally has only a 20% chance of bfp each month- you got 7 bfp's lady! Whatcha gonna do with'em now? What does your doc advise on how many to implant? You could do two ata time and every year- in 4 years you'd have one massive family :haha:

K, I have this thing I do. Now that my belly is so big I use it as a coffee table :coffee: LOL! That just means whatever I am holding in my hand while sitting down gets rested on top of my belly. Well, babes has decided the outside is her territory too and kicks the hell out of my cup! The other day I rested the edge of my coffee cup there while dh and I were talking and she darned near kicked it out of my hand! Dh laughed so hard. Then again last night with my ice water :growlmad: Now, I can't cross my arms or she batters me! lol, she is very determined. Good. Maybe she'll get crowded and decide to come out soon :)

Well the next step is making sure that they continue to develop. Not all of them will do so, or at least there is the chance that not all of them will. He was saying something this morning about doing a 5 day transfer, instead of a 3 day transfer. If they wait until 5 days then they will have grown into a blasocyst. Which is what they do if they are going to freeze them. He said he would call me tomorrow with their decision as to which (3 or 5 day) they will do. I guess it depends on how they do in the next 24 hours. I have heard that it is better to implant a blastocyst than it is to do a 6 or 8 cell on day 3. So I'm not sure which would be better? Part of me wants to get it over with and do it on Monday, the other part of me thinks we might want to wait for the blastocyst?

The plan is that if I have any to freeze, we'll do so, and either use them in 2-3 months if this month doesn't work or if it does work, then to wait 15 months or so and use them then. Course that will all depend on how many I get this time! If I get 2 this time, I may choose not to have any more babies. I just don't know. I figure I'll cross those bridges when we get to them. No sense worrying about it now, as I may not even have any to freeze at this point

I am sorry I forgot to post the IC :bfp: from this morning. I am surprised at how faint it is already, I mean I only had the trigger 3 days ago, you'd think it would still be quite dark? Guess that is why they are ICs and are not as reliable.

She doesn't like things being rested on her, silly babes! I doubt it will be long now then. She seems to be quite restless! I wonder if that means she will be a strong assertive young lady? Certainly sounds like she will be that way!! A mini Coy.. :haha: Not that this would be a bad thing, I think its great to see girls that are strong and capable! I hope I have some just like that too :happydance: BTW.. uploaded the pic for you! Sorry I forgot in my last post, bad Ali!!!

Ali-
LOL! A Mini-Coy, that sounds funny :haha: lol...Yes, so far both of our girls are stubborn with Kat topping the list. Teagen is more outgoing and talkative asking asking asking while Kat will sit back and LISTEN attentivley. For instance, the other day dh showed Teagen how to build a simple toy out of popsicle sticks. Over and over he showed her and she still struggles with- she gets sidetracked. Whereas Kat he showed once and she nailed it. She pays attention :). But if you hand Teagen a math book she has it figured out in a second. tehir differences amaze me, it's very cool. But they are both strongwilled and stubborn. We'll have our hands full with 3 of them. And they are so pretty they stop little boys in their tracks. The other day we were walking int he grocery store and this little boy saw Teagen and he froze and stared. His dad laughed so hard at him then made the comment "Son, if you want her to notice you you'll have tot ake the finger out of your nose" We'll have even more trouble when they are older :growlmad:

I think your chances are good- if the doc says it's better to wait for Wednesday then maybe you should do that. Whatever helps your chances  Maybe trade a couple days with your silly coworker this week, say you take Monday and Tuesday in exchange for Wednesday Thursday then maybe work form home Friday?

Your DDs sound adorable! One sounds like she'll be an engineer and the other sounds like she will be a statistician. Not too bad!!! Maybe this 3rd one will be a pro soccer player :haha:

I am impatient, but knowing that the chances are better when we wait to get the blastocyst, it makes me think that Wednesday would be better too. I was just looking forward to having a nice long weekend, but doing as you suggested and swapping out Mon/Tues with Wed/Thurs and then working from home Friday is nice too. We'll see what the Dr says tomorrow, I think it also depends on how the embryos are looking. If they look strong and are splitting and have a good quality, then there isn't any reason for waiting. If some of them don't look that great, then waiting to see which ones make it to the blastocyst stage might make sense.

So I was searching out to see when I could test, and what realistically makes the best sense for testing, and I came across this post:

https://blogs.fertilitycommunity.com/weblogs/when-to-test-after-transfer

It was really awesome how she spelled out what is happening on each day, and why the Dr might want me to be on bed rest for the 2 days after transfer, although with a 3 day transfer it sounds like I should be on bed rest for 4 days! LOL. Now I know what is supposed to be happening down there each day  Maybe it's just me, but the more information I have about the process the more comfortable I am with each step!

It all sounds very exciting Ali. I hope the ET goes smoothly and painless, as painless as possible anyway.

Coy, I spoke to my doc a while ago and he told me we hadn't been trying long enough. I think I'm going to go back again if this cycle isn't successful as this is getting me down. I'll see a different doc and make sure I'm taken seriously. I asked Hobby a while ago if he would get tested too and he said he would.

Just a short one today as I'm pooped!

Coy, I reckon this baby is well and truly on her way.

I so know how you are feeling. My FS wanted me to have lots of salt as well as electrolytes. I drank a lot of v8 and Gatorade. They actually didn't want me to drink too much water. They said the salt will help the fluid absorb.
Good luck with everything. My situation was horrible. Mine started before trigger as well. There was a girl that I saw when I went to get my fluid tapped (drained) out of my abdomen that was pregnant. She had ohss like me and felt and looked sooo much better after having the fluid tapped. It hurt like heck and although I felt some relief I ended up having more complications which is quite rare.

Thinking about you.

PS- I was told the soonest I would be able to see a positive test would be 9 days after transfer through beta. Fingers crossed for you

Ali- I am glad that you are keeping an eye on this. Are you supposed to go to the hospital for the trigger or do you administer that yourself? I found something on line about some patients have to go to hospital for IV treatment, etc, and to get assistance in relieveing some of the fluid retention. I would call in to double check just to make sure. What are your options at this point? Have you discussed it with your doctor?

"Patients with severe OHSS are best managed in the hospital, where they can receive intravenous resuscitation and the fluid can be removed via paracentesis. Occasionally, the fluid around the lungs may need to be removed if the woman is suffering from respiratory difficulties. However, most of the respiratory complaints associated with OHSS result from the inability of the diaphragm to move appropriately given the marked amount of fluid present within the abdomen."

Found at: https://100infertilityquestions.blogspot.com/2007/06/ohss-woes.html

I'm pretty sure that I read that article too! So I've been reading some other things, and I think I just need to drink lots of gatorade and protein drinks. Apparently protein strengthens the cell walls and that will lessen the ability of liquid to leak from cells. The gatorade or pedialyte helps to add the needed electrolyes in to the body that will improve the urine output and help get the excess fluids out. So I'm pounding the gatorade right now, and will have protein for dinner. I think I may have exacerbated the issue earlier by having sushi for lunch, yes it is packed with protein but the salt in the soy sauce probably made me more bloated than usual. Which is probably why I feel as horrible as I do right now. So more gatorade for me! Then sleep! And trigger in an hour and a 1/2.

Ali- I agree, when we went through our mc and during ttc the more information that I could injest the better off I felt about everything. I have to be informed to be comfortable! Yeah, talk to your doc tomorrow and see what gives  I looked at that site- tons of info there!!

Terri- yeah, doctors can be so annoying that way :growlmad: I was always like "I want it NOW!!" lol. I am glad your dh is so supportive

HAHA.. I finally post a :bfp: and you don't even comment.. :haha: Strange how it looks barely positive when I know I injected myself with 10,000 iu of hCG on Wednesday.

Tracey - you definitely need to go see a different Dr and get a little more demanding (in as pleasant a way as possible). I know if I were in your shoes I would go insane!

LOL! I didn't comment?! That IS unliek me! :haha: Yes, you almost NEVER post pics :growlmad: Shame on me! I did examine it though quite extensivly... sucked as much oughta that pic as a poas addict can  So is the line getting fainter at this point or stronger? Since it was an injection I am trying to remember from when you wer in Canada how long it took to get darkt hen fade? I may have to take a look back! No WAY could you be prego yet :haha: Well...in theory you could be just the eggs are distanced at this point :) Can't wait to see what you r doc says about ET!! Sunday morning, really? Will he be in?

Well ladies, I am about as exhausted as could be at this point. Had another trip to the emergency room with Teagen tonight :sad1: Poor little girl- she hasn't peed literally ALL day and can't hold even water down. She had oatmeal for breakfast but didn't drink her milk....then I noticed she wasn't drinking water and asked her too - she drank it then about 10 minutes later vomited it back up  A while later we tried sipping more room temp water and eating 2-3 saltine crackers. Again she vomited that up too. So a while after tried gatorade blended with ice and water which she liked and felt great but ended up vomiting that up too. The RN at emergency said to bring her in so I did. Dh kept Kat home so no unneded contact with ER germs :growlmad: Anyway she was bereft w/o her sister so was upset the entire time and put dh through he@@ At the ER they cheked her temperature and it had gone down, though she's had a temp all day and kept puking up her tylenol, etc. The doctor had to draw blood- poor little girl! Then they gave her a Zofran tablet to dissolve under her tongur to keep from getting nauseas and vomiting. Well, she drank some water and was fine. No infections, blood came back great. The put her on a breathing aparatus to clear her lungs as they were worried about pnumonia but nope, none of that  Her chest felt better and she could breath better and no puking so they sent us home. No sooner than we walk in the door and she tell her big story, she drinks more water and ten minutes later puked at least half of it back up if not more :nope: So I called the doctor and he said to just giove her Tylenol to get her 101.3 temp down and let her sleep. So that is what we have done. She was exhautsed so I had to carry her to bed- 55 pounds! :haha: So far she has kept the tylenol down  and her fever is reducing. I sure hope she is better by morning! Doc said to bring her in if not as they'll probably have to do IV drip for fluids :(

Anyway I am totally exhausted. I got to thinking with all the crazy kid stuff going on the only thing I've eaten today is toast this morning...I should probably eat something before bed but I'm too pooped! I'll stay awake to maker sure she doesn't vomit again, then go to bed

YIKES! They should have given you more of that zofran stuff! I've had to take it before and it does wonder for an upset tummy. I hope she is feeling better now, and that you've managed to get some gatorade or pedialyte into her. That is what I've been drinking for the past few days to help keep me hydrated, but flush the excess water out of me. Pedialyte seems to be more effective, but it is also more expensive. I found a walgreen's brand that is cheaper, and they also have the powder you can mix with water. Very cool!

Let us know how she is doing!! Plus how you are doing too!! Bet you don't get a lot of sleep tonight!

This is most definitely from the trigger, as the embryos aren't even inside me yet! It was only 3 dpt, and it is pretty clear here that it is a positive, although the picture didn't really show it that well. I think I was about 8 dpt before it was gone, last month. So that would be Thursday this coming week. From reading that article it doesn't sound like I should POAS until a minimum of 8dpo or 10 dpt to test as the implantation doesn't happen until 7dpo/9dpt and it will take a day or 2 to show up on a HPT. So that means realistically I shouldn't test until at least Sept 22 (8dpo). By then the trigger should be out of my system too.

It is almost 5am, I've been up for 45 minutes and I can't get back to sleep. GRR. What do I do with myself? Plus I'm in pain, I think that is what woke me up, the cramping from my abdomen. It needs to stop already! At this point I doubt my uterus will be ready for the transfer in 24-36 hours and waiting until Wednesday might be the better option.

Hey ladies...

A while back I entered my doggies in the DRSF Calendar, and I'm hoping to get to $100 for each of them. That should put them in the running for the calendar. I was wondering if any of you would like to donate? Its $5, and you get 5 votes for that amount. The proceeds go to the DRSF organization which is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping dachshunds in need in South Florida. It is also where I found Zach. I was his foster mommy until I fell in love with the dude and had to keep him!

Here are the links to each of their pictures, I think Zoe would be an adorable October photo as she is all dressed up for Halloween, and Zach is sporting a red, white and blue shirt, which could easily be chosen for July!

Hello ladies took my first dose of clomid yesterday 100mg. boy I got a horrible headache, just felt lousy, and I have today and 3 more days to go, how did some of you get through with this med?

7 fertilized sounds great to me! Yay!

For me on the clomid what got me through was two things: 1) its only 5 days taking it and the side effects won't last forever 2) it could help get me pregnant

That's what got me through!
