Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Hello ladies took my first dose of clomid yesterday 100mg. boy I got a horrible headache, just felt lousy, and I have today and 3 more days to go, how did some of you get through with this med?

My side effects on clomid were mild. Headaches and hot flashes and a general feeling of malaise. It only lasted while I was taking it and I was back to my normal self almost immediately.

Doctor called to say that all 7 embryos look awesome and have made it to the 4 cell stage. He wants to wait until Wednesday to do the transfer to give them a good chance to develop before we implant. He will only implant 2 blastocysts at this stage because they have a greater likelihood of implanting if we make that stage. I'm excited! We won't know whether I will have any to freeze until then. He also said he would be able to show me pictures? Of the embryos I guess?
So I can't be happier!

Did I tell you that I'm naming the baby if it's a girl after my mom. Catherine, to be called Cate. Well I told her that yesterday and she was very happy!

Right now I feel horrible, I've been dry heaving and am worried I'm going to be sick! I hope it's not OHSS!

Happy Sunday!!!

Ali...I'm praying for you!
God is good!!

Hi GeorgiaBelle, it's good to hear from you, although it sounds like you've been through the mill!!!
what an inept office! I don't know if your bank does this for you online or at all, but my bank has a service where in my online account I can print off copies of cleared cheques.... it may help you to get them figured out without having to pay them AGAIN for the same appointment! what crazies!

As for the yeast infections.... I used to suffer from repeat yeast infections and the diflucan was the only thing that would get rid of it... canesten, or whatever never really helped me.... and the diflucan worked, but it's expensive here....
THEN, my doctor asked if I'd ever tried Boric Acid.... have you heard of it? She gave me a prescription for Boric Acid powder in capsules which you insert intravaginally.
they worked like a charm!!
I haven't had any trouble for over 3 years until I was about 16 weeks pregnant. I went and got another prescription (boric acid capsules for yeast infections is ok during pregnancy) and the pharmacy only made them in suppository version... that's the boric acid powder in a vegetable oil solid base.... I hated them... messy, slimy, gross feeling... I wanted my powder in a capsule!! plus I didn't think the suppositories worked as well as the powder....
SO I ended up just getting the powder from the pharmacist (they keep it behind the counter here) and I picked up empty gelatin capsules from the health food store and filled them myself! I was so much better the next morning! I did one a night for about 3 nights and it was completely gone.

I absolutely swear by them, and on top of feeling like it's way more effective than diflucan, it's way less expensive too.....

anyways... I can't help with the crazies at the office, but if you haven't thought about trying the Boric Acid powder in a capsule, then I recommend you try it!! If you have any other questions about it, let me know.....

hope things improve!

phil.

Phil,

Hi! How are you and your little soon to be pink bundle? I think about you often and send good wishes your way always.

My bank does have electronic copies of my checks I can view. The problem was that the second check I wrote for DH's account was never received by the RE's wife. It makes me very uncomfortable that a packet with my personal information and one of my checks is floating around somewhere. I believe that the woman behind this mess, has either hidden or destroyed the packet. She was there when I dropped it off that day.

Hubby is a chemist and physicist so I always refer to him about things like Boric Acid. :winkwink: I'm going to mention your idea to him and see what he and I can do.

Right now, I don't seem to have any pain when DH and I :sex:. Embarrassingly, I have to admit that we haven't :sex: very much at all recently. I was fine but then had some itching Monday but then nothing again. I don't know what to make of it.

Ali- Yay! for this stage! Wow, all sounds great so far, I can't wait to see that :bfp: And I promise to comment this time  LOL! I am sorry you are not feeling well, maybe jjust all of the meds and stress? Btw, the pics of the puppies are adorable!! I'm gonna posto ne on here of my Boston Terrier just for fun :)

Jess- :hi: how are ya lady??

Phil- how are you feeling? Baby kicking you to bits yet? :)

Terri, Angel, Babywhisperer, Alin- :hi: How are you ladies?

AFM- first off, sorry if I seem short or crabby today! No sleep and constant stress makes me that way :sad1: lol! ...not sure what T has (or had ) The doctor did a full blood exam and no infection anywhere, so not sure. He thinks it's just areaction to this virus going around. Kat is over it except for a runny nose ocassionally. Last night T went to sleep and I woke her twice to take water and medicine and she managed to keep it down- YAY! This morning no fever (yet anyway ) and she has managed almosta full bottle of water and now eating plain toast with a bit of honey on it. I gave her a shower and washed her hair, etc, and she says she is feeling better. Phew! Hopefully the worst is behind. Another sleepless night for me though, I set my alarm for every now and then to check her. Dh got irritated with something I said this morning and boy did I tear hima new one! :haha: What made it worse is I got up, showered, checked T, made dh ad Kat steak and eggs for breakfast ( I know, lol) and fresh coffee. I got so busy doing laundry (2 loads so far), sanitizing the house, changing bedding, feeding the dog, etc, that by time I reached for my coffee cup dh was pouring the last of it into his mug.....yes, I know, dangerous damned territory. :growlmad: LOL! I slammed stuff around and he tore out of the kitchen! I just made myself some new, but still- I am trying not to be too much of a heavy :haha: I am not in the mood to be wooled around today as my glucose dropped super low last night too so I feel sort of crappy  , so everyone is just sort of backing away!

Georgia- good to hear from you, it has been a while!

Here's a pic of my buddy "Rocky" she is about 5 years old now :) Very embarassed to be wearing the "google-eye" glasses dd's put on her! :haha:

Hi, Ali! Congratulations on the good news so far.

Thanks! Best of luck to you too! If I were you I'd see if there was another FS in the area! You deserve better treatment! Also, go see your OBGYN and have them run a swab down there. You
might not have a yeast infection at all! It could be something else. Possibly garnerella (sp) it's similar to yeast but is a different naturally occurring bacteria that lives down there and can get out of control and cause you to be itchy.

Georgia- I agree with Ali, it's probably best to have it checked out  And never be embarassed to admit anything (liek the :sex:) on bnb! We atlk about everything here! This is the only place in the world I can talk about cm and not feel wierd about it :haha: I haven't even mentioned it to my doc but he is a man and I feel wierd talking about stuff like that to a man other than dh  Guess I am old fashioned?

Ali- I was going to ask- thse pics of your puppies- is this one of those things people can vote online for or is it something other judges choose? I love dressing little dogs btw, but Rocky hates it :( lol, If I put a sweater on her in winter she will stand frozen in one place as though she is being held there :haha: One time she just stood there for lie 15 minutes and I stepped in the garage for some thing and popped back out (took me about 5 seconds) and the sweater was laying on the ground and Rock looking at me very obtuse :haha: I guess she likes to be "naked" lol. But I had a terrier in Alaska that loved to dress up and take baths!

O my HECK y fingers are dyslexic! Sorry ladies! Ignore all the typos in my posts!

Hey Coy...How are you?

I'm doing ok. I am just a little swamped with school work...and of course my workouts... Crazy semester !

Even though I am not too actively focused on it, I am still hoping to conceive soon!! Yesterday and today I have some pain on my left side. Given that it is right around the time I ovulate, I assume it is ovulation pain. Oh, and I had a big temp spike this morning...the biggest around O time so far since I started temping. I hope this is a good sign!!

So yesterday, I tried PreSeed for the first time. It was...ummmm...NICE! Lol! Looking forward to trying it again this afternoon and/or evening!! ;)

BF and I talked again about the processes at the FS. And he is in a totally different place now. He was open to whatever needed to be done. I told him that I was going to have the HSG done next month and he said great! I like where his head is now. :)

OK...so now I have to get back to homework.

I just saw that your status says "tired"...poor thing... It's getting close though!!

Give your belly a rub for me...:hugs:

Jess-

Thanks, yes I am tired, have had a very rough week with sick kids, etc..But o n the mend now I hope and craving a steak! :haha:

What kind of homework? Are you studying or teaching? I am enrolled in Univ. of Phoenix and love it so far (except when I get stuck doing team-members assignments :growlmad:) and looking forward to my next degree. Embarassed to admit I am working on my bachelors at this point- I didn't enroll in college until Kat was born. My parents thought school was for 'dummies' which doesn't make a whole heckuva lot of sense  so they call me an "educated idiot" now  In the words of a 1980's valley-girl "whatEVER!" lol!

Wow, glad that you are trying the preseed, I hope you have great results this month  and a "wow" for your bf's reaction now- great attitude, I am glad he is supportive. What exactly is HSG again, my baby brain must be kicking in

Sorry to hear about the sick kiddos...I know that can be emotionally and physically draining.

I think you have told me once before, but what are you getting your degree in? I got a bachelors in public administration and Political communication. Right now I am actually finishing my masters. I finished all my masters coursework in 2008. But, my research for my thesis (aka Applied Research Project) is what is holding me back from actually receiving my degree. It is an ongoing study that is set to last another two years. So, my advisor restructured my paper and now I am writing my literature review. It is on the self-esteem of low SES middle school students. I didn't go to college until I was 32. So, I guess I am an educated idiot too! Lol! But I love to learn.

An HSG is a hysterosalpingogram (HSG)... an X-ray test that examines the inside of uterus and fallopian tubes and the surrounding area. You know, where the check to see if there is anything blocking your tubes. I think they use some sort of dye. BUt I am not real sure.

Aha! Yes, now I remember, I think I recall Ali saying they injected a dye and that is how they discovered her blocked right tube. Cool! Hope you get awesome results

Jess- oh, forgot to mention, I am studying Criminal Justice System and criminal psychology with intent to take law school soon after. It is getting a bit more intensive which I love- makes me feel like I am seriously learning!- but with babes coming soon I have talked to my academic instructor and they have scheduled some of my elective courses which instead of 300 level they are 100 level and not such serious thinkers :haha: Instead of critical thinking or behavior therapy I will be studying mythology and the great literatures :cloud9: Makes for an awesome artistic break for me :) Plus it won't cut into my time with babes too much. I am not sure exactly when she'll be born so I prefer some easier studies in case I am in middle of class when labor hits :haha: Because it would cause serious issues with my school if I didn't finish a class :(

I think my OHSS is coming back  I can't eat anything without feeling like I just ate a house. Even when my stomach is empty I feel like a balloon. My ankles are ok, but my stomach is decidedly bloated. Even my comfy pants are too small! EEK! No idea what I will wear to work tomorrow. All I know is that I need to keep eating the protein and Gatorade!

Jess.. there are different types of HSG.. some use saline others use dye. I had the saline and it flushed out my tube! It is a little uncomfortable, and if you have the saline, expect to be a little bloated afterwards. It is worth it as they can tell you if your tubes are OK and if your uterus is in good shape. It will also flush the cobwebs out of the tubes, opening them up to make an easier passage for the embryo.
