Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali, its still early days! Patience!

AFM- I'm sitting in the lab waiting area in the middle of my glucose tolerance test. My starting number was just barely above normal (for non-pregnant) but I'm not happy with any sort of increase. Of course, as my mom says, normal for pregnant might be a little higher than when not preggers. With my last they said I was on the high side of normal but not high enough for gest. Diabetes. I wonder how this one will go? I'm hoping the tech will share my 2 hour results- she was good and told me what my start number was.
*sigh* now I'm just bored, bored, bored and feeling gross from all the sugar in the yucky drink!

Hang in there. I've had friends who've taken that test and it sounds unpleasant. One of them tested a little high, so she cut out bread and pasta and it came down dramatically. Also try adding cinnamon to anything carb-y, as it lessens the impact of carbs. I hope it goes fast for you!

Coy, that receptionist sounds like an idiot. I would have asked if it was her first day, I have little patience on a good day. Were you able to rest?

Ali, don't worry about the bfn, it's super early. I bet by Thursday you will see something clear. How are you feeling today?

Hi Jess, Terri, Lucaswood, and everyone else! :hi:

Afm, I'm gonna whoop dh's ass :gun: I had delays leaving the city due to train signal problems so I got home late, but still made it to the gym
I get home at 8ish and he is passed out cold with all his clothes on. I called one of his friends and asked how he got this way. He told me everything was very mellow until the cocktail reception. They all got too much sun on the course, not enough water and drank a couple of drinks at the reception and it hit them hard. So dh was in no condition to :sex: and I was ready to :trouble: So I was fuming mad and upset as I had lots of ewcm and I rarely do! I went to sleep and woke him up at 6am and explained that I will not miss this month bc/c he was :drunk: with his idiot friends. So we did the deed, but now I'm wondering if I missed my window since we last :sex: Sunday at 7pm and we got + on my opk on Sat & Sun but it started to fade on Sunday.. There was no bd for a full 36hrs. Thoughts?

Good Morning All,

Well, I've managed to catch up on a bit, waiting for some testing to be done then ladies? I'm on CD54 today and still waiting for ovulation. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Coy, I'm still routing for 30th September for you to meet you baby girl.

Ali, so excited, please post pics when you've tested.

Jess, your chart looks great, hopeful for you too.

Everyone else :hi:

:hugs: Terri, that has to be frustrating! Are you taking anything to help ovulation come on?

Yep, frustrating is one word for it. Doc wouldn't do anything about them as he reckons we haven't been trying long enough, despite that I mentioned having a miscarriage over a year ago! I will go back again and see a different doc soon. I don't really want to take anything not prescribed as everything that helps bring ovulation on, in the small print, it also says can delay ovulation.

I tell you, it had better be worth the wait this cycle!

Hi All! :hi:

Phil icky that stuff sounds gross, but necessary I suppose. Hopefully you end up just fine! Let us know how it goes!!!

Tracey I would definitely go see another Dr and be more demanding. Having cycles like that is just not conducive to TTC. With your age, there is no time to wait! They shouldn't be making you wait, I could see if you were 25, but we're not that age anymore. I hope they help you soon!

BabyWhisperer thanks for the encouragement. How are you feeling today?

Jess did you test too? I hope you had better luck than I did!

Coy Where are you? Maybe its :baby: time?

AFM I did some research on the net (gotta love Dr Google) and found that most women don't get a :bfp: until much later. So I'm just going to have to relax and take it easy and just hope and pray that I am a late shower :haha: A lot of women had :bfn: at days 5,6 and 7 dp5dt and then on day 8 or 9 they got their :bfp: that would mean another 2-3 days. I'm not sure I can handle the wait! AHHHHH. I woke up with really mild cramps, and then about 1/2 an hour ago I was almost doubled over in pain, but it has since subsided, and now I just feel bloated and discomfort down there.

Terri- I still wonder if there is any way to shorten your cycles as that might improve your channces some of getting a bfp faster... I would def get a diff doc if this one os dragging his feet

Phil- OOoooo I hate the glucose drink! Yuk! But it is worth it. And I think your mom is right- my glucose tends to be 10 points higher than normal when I am prego too

Ali- I agree, you are still very early yet...what- 4-5 days early for hpt testing I guess according to what I read yesterday. Chin up! Ya got loads of time :) Re: the pain...could this be like some serious implanting? Maybe twins implanting diff times ?

Babywhisperer- I think your timing is perfect! Anytime you have ewcm you've not officially ov'd yet  Soon as ov takes place the cm starts to dry up. I take it from your post you woke him when you still had ewcm, right? Just pounce woman! :haha: Good for you :) Serves him right, lol!

OMG twins being implanted....that just got me psyched, you could be right on the $$! Go Ali, go! Think doubles of everything! Double mint gum, double 1/4pounder, double dutch, double vision, ok maybe not that :haha:

I don't think I checked for ewcm this morning, but there was (TMI warning) tons last night when I came home from the gym...workout pants were gross. As of right now, I can't tell if it's (major tmi warning) remnants of him or my ewcm.

Not sure how I missed that! UGH, sorry about your DH. I guess boys will be boys, they are all like that when they get around their friends. It is as if they all turn into 20 yr old frat boys!

As for your BD'ing timing. Here is the tricky part about O'ing and BD'ing. You are fertile the 3-4 days leading up to the O the day of the O and the day after the O. Didn't you say that you got the smiley ones? Those are the only ones I really trust for OPK as the others just don't seem to give a precise result. One month I used both the CBE OPK and another kind and I found it so difficult to read the 2 lines and determine whether I was ovulating or not. But getting the smiley face told me, yep, I'm ovulating without a doubt! So if you got a smiley face at some point, that would be your O day (or if it was late at night, then perhaps the day after that). But sometime in the 24-36 hours after you got that smiley face is when you O'd. So take that date, and count back 4 days and forward 1-2, those are your fertile days. The other thing that usually happens after ovulation is a spike in temp. I don't see a spike on your chart, which has me confused. So is it possible you haven't O'd yet?

Babywhisperer your chart, OPK results and your CM totally confuse me! I don't really know what to say. I would guess you O'd on Sunday due to your OPK results, but you shouldn't be getting EWCM after you O! Plus if you O'd on Sunday your temp should have started going up on Monday. So nothing seems to be making sense. Maybe Coy can make more sense of it? Although we haven't heard from her since really early this morning, I wonder if she went to the hospital? OHH!

Anyway, I'm wondering if you have yet to O since you are now getting EWCM, and your temp hasn't risen. Did you try another OPK this morning or yesterday? It is either that or maybe you aren't going to O this month? I know my FS was able to tell me that I O'd just before I saw him for the first time as he could see the corpus luteum on an ultrasound. A blood test about 7 days after ovulation can also tell you if you O'd. They just measure your progesterone and if its over 10 they figure you O'd. I really hope that you are just O'ing now! That would be great  It certainly won't hurt to have a little fun tonight, that way you will have your bases covered just in case you are O'ing now or tomorrow.

BabyWhisperer-

I think you are seriously covered as far as the bd'ing goes. You bd'd 5 times over a period stretch of a week- that pretty much covers it. I'd say some soldiers ready and waiting and others are trying to team to the front :haha:

As far as not seeing a definite spike on your chart yet- this can be attributed to your gym workouts, I think we have seen this before with Jess and I have read that working out hard can change your bbt somewhat.

If you got smiley's on OPK CD14 and CD15 then I'd say your ovulation day was yesterday (CD16).

So no sweat on bd'ing! FF and bbt'ing can be tricky but I have found ewcm almost never lies :) If you had that yesterday then I'd say you have anice hospitable cervix waiting to hold those little :spermy: Generally the day after Ov is when cm dries up. How is it today? (Never tmi on bnb :haha:)

AFM- no baby yet  but holy mackeral! Something was making me extremely uncomfortable last night! She was head-butting my cervix and pushing up with her feet! One minute there I thought she was going to tear something or pop out! :haha: I laugh now but I was worried at the time  Anyway, then I get those Braxton Hicks contractions and the top of my uterus is super sore today- like I've been doing tons of crunches! At least my body is exercising and getting geared up for that final stage. Dh always gets concerned and asks "are you having contractions?..." and when I say "No" he always adds...."Are you sure?" lol, like I wouldn't know! Bless him, he is concerned. As long as he is ready to jam the dd's in the car and hurry me to hospital  This little girl might make me wait though but I seriously hope not! I have an appointment with my doc this Thursday to check things out again.....

Today I got up and cracked the whip :haha: I told my oldest daughter if she doesn't get out of bed, do her chores, get bathed and ready she will miss breakfast and go hungry  Am I being mean? Because what she has been doing is staying in bed pretending (I am mother- -I KNOW the difference) to be asleep until the dog starves or dh and I feed it, and breakfast is on the table. Then she sleepily meanders in to eat. Uh-uh. Doesn't happen here :haha: Lazy kid...:nope: lol! She thinks I am being mean and am too tough but she needs to hold up her end. All of her chores include feed the dog, scrape your own plate, make your bed. Wow, she puts up a fuss! At almost 8 years old I think those are good chores  My youngest is only 3 and jams out of bed, has cuddle time with papa, takes a flash bath, gets dressed, brushes her own hair, and is ready and waiting at the table by time I make dh's coffee! LOL!

I'm not sure I can handle the wait! AHHHHH. I woke up with really mild cramps, and then about 1/2 an hour ago I was almost doubled over in pain, but it has since subsided, and now I just feel bloated and discomfort down there.

Good signs Ali! I'm telling you, Thursday fmu test will show that bfp!

Afm I posted above...feeling frustrated!

OHH.. Must have missed that. Why? Did your DH behave badly last night?

Here is what I wrote:

Afm, I'm gonna whoop dh's ass I had delays leaving the city due to train signal problems so I got home late, but still made it to the gym
I get home at 8ish and he is passed out cold with all his clothes on. I called one of his friends and asked how he got this way. He told me everything was very mellow until the cocktail reception. They all got too much sun on the course, not enough water and drank a couple of drinks at the reception and it hit them hard. So dh was in no condition to and I was ready to So I was fuming mad and upset as I had lots of ewcm and I rarely do! I went to sleep and woke him up at 6am and explained that I will not miss this month bc/c he was with his idiot friends. So we did the deed, but now I'm wondering if I missed my window since we last Sunday at 7pm and we got + on my opk on Sat & Sun but it started to fade on Sunday.. There was no bd for a full 36hrs. Thoughts?

So here is my schedule:
BD cd 10(pm), 11(pm), 14(pm), 15(pm), 17(am)
got smiley face on opk cd 14 & 15...but it did fade a little from the day before.

No temp this morning b/c we bd, so I just put in yesterdays temp. I will be sure to temp tomorrow. Should we bd again tonight or tomorrow?

I'm lost how do smiley's fade?

Smiley didn't fade, the stick that you pee on generates a line and the darkness triggers a smiley or not. On Sat the stick had a darker test line, the next day that test line faded but still produced a smiley.

BabyWhisperer- you mean you took the test apart? OMG I did that all the time! :haha: LOL! And yes, the line will change, fade, et cetera, over time so is unreliable after the smiley shows up :) I would go with those days as peak fertitlity and the day after as Ov day

TwoToGo- thanks! That's what I call it too :) but she thinks I'm tough. She actually snapped at me "But, I'm still a little kid! YOU should be making my bed for me because you're my MOM!" At which point I stepped out and dh stepped in :haha: KIDS!

BabyWhisperer- Oh, I forgot to ask, on your chart it shows cm in green for CD13-17...what does the green indicate? EWCM??
