Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Hello All,
I hope this finds my BnB ladies well today!
I've just gotten in the door from picking up treat making supplies.... BUT I want to do a deep clean of the kitchen first!
Babes MUST be sleeping better if I have energy to do the detail stuff in the kitchen.

I don't know how it happens, but the tray that holds the spoons, knives, forks etc always seems to collect crumbs or whatnot and it drives me nuts! They go into the tray clean, so where do the crumbs come from?? So one of the things I want to do is pull out the silverware and wipe out the tray. Then wipe down the cupboards and re-organize under the sink (if I still have energy and Babes stays asleep!)

phil.

WOW! That is some burst of energy! I have the exact same pet peeve, how on earth do those pesky crumbs get in the CLEAN cutlery holder? It makes no sense to me either. Do you want to come over and clean mine out too? I have to do under the sink as well, it is a nightmare under there. I just keep shoving things around :haha: I figure that I'll deal with that cabinet when I'm pregnant and starting to baby proof the house. I figure it can house nasty chemicals and be all dis-organized until then! me and my procrastination! Congrats on starting to feel better though! IMO.. the more you do in your day, the more active you are while babes sleeps, the faster you will lose the baby weight, and well in your case slim down! :happydance:

AFM - I should hear from the vet around 3ish to hear how Zoe did under the knife. They send the lump down to Miami to a lab down there that does the pathology and I won't hear about that for another week. So I'll be on pins and needles for a week about that.

I'm on day 2 of my GF meal delivery, and while I'm not really too fond of how they cook their eggs, I'm already noticing how much better I feel with proper nutrients in my body! It is like someone flipped a switch and suddenly I'm more attentive and my brain is thinking more clearly! Plus I feel like I have more energy. :happydance: I'm also down 2 lbs, I know that isn't much, but its only been 3 days! My goal is to lose 15-20 lbs before my FET at the end of April, beginning of May. Which is about 7-8 weeks from now.

ARGH! I need to get back on my GF eating..... I've gained back 5 lbs and I feel it! DH gets paid on Thursday, so I want to have a menu plan in place by then so I can go shopping for CLEAN eating GF foods!
We are meeting up with DH's family at the end of April and I'd like to feel svelte even if I'm not quite there by then.....
Ali, maybe you and I should be GF buddies and keep each other on the path?
xx
phil.

Good for you! So are you and DH on better terms now? You haven't mentioned him recently, so I wasn't sure where things were between you two. I think that being GF buddies would be great, but I have a GF food delivery service that is making it much easier for me to stay on the GF diet. I just have to make it through the weekend on my own. I know I'm kinda cheating, but with all the things going on in my life, I was just not making the effort to eat healthily, so this seemed like a good option for me. I hope you can get back on your diet and get nice and svelte too!

Yes, actually, things have been going quite well recently. With the birth of his daughter, his commitment to fixing that which he tore asunder has been renewed and strengthened.... he's been making a real effort and when he starts to feel like he's going to slide, he reminds himself that he wants the best for his daughter and it seems to be keeping him in check.... even the other day when normally he would have gone off on something I said or did, he didn't because he tells himself that what's good for the baby is to have a mother who isn't stressed out about him or what he's doing.... so overall, it's been a really positive change....
:)

Great! I hope he can keep making that effort, and continue to build a happy family with you! That is wonderful to hear. :happydance:
Is he in counseling or anything to help him reconcile his gambling addiction? That too might help strengthen his resolve to move forward and give him the tools to combat the urges etc. Kind of like AA does for alcoholics.

Just talked to Zoe's vet.. she is out of surgery and slowly waking up. The vet said that they got it all, but that she has a really large incision :argh: but I guess it was necessary to ensure that they got the entire mass. So I get to go pick her up at 5:30. YAY! I'm still not sure whether I will work from home tomorrow or not. I guess we'll see how she is doing when I get her home and how she is tomorrow morning. I'm leaning on staying home to make sure she doesn't try to jump on furniture etc. Now we wait to see what pathology says. :coffee:

that is great about Zoe!

yes, DH has been in GA since this all broke open- iy has been (and continues to be) a requirement of mine.... he's been doing really well and I'm starting to believe we might find our way through this after all.... *smile*

Excellent! That is wonderful, I'm so happy for you :happydance:  Gotta love a happy ending to a story :flower: (had to add the 'to a story' part so we didn't confuse it with the other kind of happy ending.. that men get at massage parlors :haha: )

Phil- you took the words out of my mouth! Treat day...I picked up stuff to make chocolate chiop cookies...old classic :cloud9: And yes! What's up with the crumbs in the silverware tray?! :growlmad: I detest that :nope:

Ali- don't say under the knife! eek! Poor baby Zoe :nope: and :hugs:

Chantal, I don't know what Maple Butter Tarts are but I wants some! :haha: And yeah...it could be the caffeine in the chocolate upsetting your tummy.

AFM- I am sneezy today  Not sure why ... I am planning on baking (maybe)...I already scrubbed the o****er and floor in the kitchen. Maybe I'll root out my laundry room, kick the dog out (temporarily) and clean her little house...she has a house within our house  spoilt :)

I am bill-paying today 8-[ so a bit stressed lol! I have made 2 pots of coffee so far and have a coke chilling in the freezer :dohh: and downed a protein drink.

Think maybe I should eat something solid :laugh2:

Where's Sam  de lady is percolating!

I was thinking it was quiet here today.. where are Chantal and Sam? Angel was here for a bit earlier.. just long enough to tell that interloper where to go :haha:

Paying bills is always stressful, I detest it! Why do we have to do it? :argh: I hope you manage to figure it out! I wonder if the sneezing is allergies from the dust you probably kicked up while cleaning? Or do you think you are coming down with something? :nope: I hope not, there are enough sick people in your house!!! So stay well!

I vote for eating something solid. You need to keep your strength up and coffee and coke are not going to give you the nutrients to do that :growlmad: Ok, enough of sounding like your mother. :haha: Enjoy your day!!!!

I'm doing much better now that I know Zoe is waking up and I can go get her in a little over an hour! :happydance:

Yay for getting Zoe  Tell us how she's doing :hugs: Give her a pat for me :)

Oh in oyur post you mentioned Angel and an interloper...  Did I miss a post?

Just took Babes out for a walk.... she was being a bit fussy and the fresh air usually puts her right to sleep! There's a route I can take to get the mail that takes about 40 mins- that makes it a perfect length! Usually I can nip down the street and back to get the mail in about 2 mins.... but taking the long way, well, it forces me to really get a good walk in and I feel like it has a purpose if we are 'going to get the mail' ...... oops, spoke too soon... Babes is waking up now!
later!

I'm sorta new here. 37 and trying to conceive #1. My husband has extremely low sperm count (2.5 million), due to testicular cancer. He is fine now, but fertility has been compromised. Doctors want to immediately throw IVF our way, but I'm not too keen on that. Trying to figure out if husband's fertility is recoverable, and what to do next. I debate constantly on whether to throw in the towel. Not sure how long I can do this and remain a decent level of sanity. ;-)

Welcome, Melly!
this is a great group, I'm sure you will find it a great support!

I'm Phil, 41 and just had my miracle baby in January. my dh and I were diagnosed with 'unexplained infertility' and decided to try IUI first before anything more invasive like IVF. we were lucky on our first go!
Is there a reason (other than the dr gets more $$$) that they haven't suggested IUI to you? especially in cases where the partner's sperm count is low, IUI is a viable, less costly option. If you have any questions about it, please feel free to ask!

Welcome melly, a couple of girls on here are in similar situations with their dh, I'm sure they will be able to give lots of advice. Has icsi (i think that's the right term) been suggested? Where they can wash and select the best sperm?

Ali, glad to hear Zoe did ok, praying that it's a good outcome for you. Our dog was diagnosed with a cancerous anal tumour last year and we cant do anything for her. But she is still doing well.

coy, yeah there was a random bloke who posted noseying about who twiggers was, quite rudely and only joined and one post. Admin must have noticed too ad I see it's been removed. Something about a famous dr twiggers who he made derogatory comments about.

Where are Chantal and Sam?

I'm a bit better today ladies, I'm just back in from my voluntary work and I'm in bed chilling already. I wouldn't say I'm feeling positive yet but it's getting there. I stupidly bought a digi today but I'm not going to use it until next week as i need to see 3plus. I might be it now but I'm not taking any chances or I'll worry!

xo

Coy.. Zoe is home now and resting! See picture.

Angel.. I reported the interloper so they probably banned him and removed the post. Glad you are feeling a little better today! I hope you get the 3 weeks on your digi!

Melly.. I'm doing IVF/FET and it's been rough. I also did 3 IUIs before IVF. So it's been a long road. In an IUI they spin the sperm and only the good ones get placed in the uterus. So if the few he has are motile, then an IUI would be fine. In IVF they can do something called ICSI. It's when they take the best sperm and inject one into the egg. Then wait to see which embryo develops. Then the place the embryo back in your uterus. So IUI is cheaper, but IVF would have better odds. IVF is not for the feint of heart however, it is hard on your body and very stressful. I'd suggest doing research on both and getting yourself tested for fertility issues. Then you can figure out what best works for you.

AFM.. I'm thinking AF is going to be right on time. My lower back is really bothering me, and the cramps are getting fierce. :happydance:

Hey ladies! You missed me, you really missed me!:hugs::hugs:

Ali- I hope Zoe feels better real quick and all comes back negative! Your plan sounds like it's working. How's the food? My delivery should come tomorrow or is it Friday... ughh I can't keep up!

Coy- Hope your okay! Eat something! You need energy! How is DH doing? And Aeryn?:flower:

Angel- Sounds like you need time to chill and relax!

Welcome Melly! This is a good group of woman

Chantal- How are you and baby feeling.

AFM- So today, I woke up at 5:30am to drive in the rain and traffic to the acupuncturist for a 7:30am appointment. It went well. I then sat in traffic an hour on my way to work. At least work wasn't stressful today! Tomorrow is supposed implantation day! I have a long day at work and a speaking engagement after work, so it will be a while before I can chat.

I had a diet cherry coke today! I can't stay away from caffeine! Help! And is it ok to eat smoked salmon? I love it!

Oh in oyur post you mentioned Angel and an interloper...  Did I miss a post?

Sams.. that's a lot of driving for acupuncture! Are they doing special treatments for IVF? Where they stimulate your uterus? That is what mine said they were doing! Too bad there wasn't a clinic close-by work or home! I was lucky, my acupuncturist would come to my FS's office so I could get everything done at once.
Yes, my meals are helping me a bunch! Love them! I hope your freshology is yummy too!
Try to lay off the soda especially diet, they are really bad for you! If you must drink caffeine I think black tea is probably the least offensive. Maybe someone who has been pregnant can help with the caffeine and smoked salmon questions! All my FS said was no smoking, no alcohol, no caffeine and no chocolate! :grr: All the good things!

Ok so Zoe is making me laugh! She is sitting beside me and staring at me but snoring at the same time

Oh.. and Sam! Make sure you take it easy tomorrow! Give yourself a few breaks to relax! I swear I think part of the reason I didn't get pregnant was stress. On both of the implantation days I had very stressful things happen, and I wonder if the stress caused my NK cells to go into hyper mode?
I think that when I have my FET I'm going to take those days off and go shopping or to the beach with my doggies and just have a FUN day!

Alicatt- I was going to an acupuncturist close by but she couldn't see me on transfer day and my friend had a retired acupuncturist who could. He is an old Chinese doctor with an impressive resume and after seeing him I realized that my initial acupuncturist wasn't doing what needed to be done. He is probably 30 minutes away without traffic, but today it was raining and it was rush hour going into the city! eeekkk... the worst. I go to him for the IVF treatment. He sees me and one other patient as a special referral.

I love doggies!!:hugs::hugs: I don't know I had a craving for a diet coke and chocolate! What is wrong with me!

Sams.. that's a lot of driving for acupuncture! Are they doing special treatments for IVF? Where they stimulate your uterus? That is what mine said they were doing! Too bad there wasn't a clinic close-by work or home! I was lucky, my acupuncturist would come to my FS's office so I could get everything done at once.
