Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Hello ladies,

Ali I am so happy that your date went well and that Victor was so nice! :yipee: That was so sweet that he kissed your hand. Not many guys do that anymore :winkwink:
What awesome news about your lining as well! Triple lining! wtg! I have a good feeling about your cycle and FET!

Sam I am thinking positive thoughts for you and praying for your bfp :hugs:

Angel I am praying for you and your baby [-o<[-o<

Coy to answer your question to how I am feeling. Well I was still feeling pregnancy symptoms and didn't have any spotting so yesterday I talked to the OB and insisted on a second ultrasound. Of course when I woke up this morning bb's were considerably less sore and first time since bfp I slept through the night without waking up at 3:30-4:00am :growlmad: I went to the ultrasound- (both trans abdominal and trans vaginal) this morning not feeling hopeful.

Well the sac still measured 5 weeks 5 days and no fetal pole. This means yolk sac stopped forming just before we left Barbados  For some reason I had convinced myself that the gestational sac had gotten bigger last week but it hadn't. So I had to pay out of pocket for an u/sound that really was not necessary. I am sure the OB thinks I am nuts. The sac of blood has disappeared. The radiologist said my body must have reabsorbed it. So that explains why I had no spotting. So now I have closure and no longer wondering if a bean is hiding. Monday morning is my d & c :(

Wishing everyone a great weekend!

Thanks Chantal!

I haven't heard from him yet, and that makes me nervous. I know his US was this morning so I figured I would have heard from him by now, but nope :nope: nothing. Who knows, he could just be getting errands done and rejoicing over his US. Hopefully I will hear from him tonight

I'm sorry that your miracle isn't happening this time around. However I think that you have the closure you needed so you can move forward with DE now. Can you make an appt with a FS to discuss the DE option now? I know you are having the D&C Monday, and are still waiting for the blood work, but if you make the appt now, for maybe 10 days from now, then you should have the results of the blood work, and be ready to start the process.

One thing that V did explain was how they do a DE cycle. It is really wild. Once you have chosen your donor, they will regulate your cycles so that they are identical (using BCP, provera etc) then once they are the same, they will stim the donor to retrieve the eggs, then use your DH's sperm to fertilize them, then transfer them into you! At least that is how his process went. The only difference is that since his :spermy: were going into a gestational surrogate, they froze his :spermy: 6 months in advance, and when it came time to do it, they had to use the frozen ones, due to the risk of AIDS. Even though you couldn't catch AIDS this way, they still make that additional precaution. You wouldn't have that issue since you would be the carrier of the embryo. Talk about confusing! Maybe there are other ways to do it? I wonder if they use frozen eggs?

It is time to get a drink. It was negative. Im going to go sulk and then try to put the pieces together later

AWW.. Sam  so sorry  Take the time to grieve, have a few drinks, maybe do some retail therapy. Then when you are ready, book the WTF appointment with the FS. That helped me a lot. Once I had finished grieving, I wanted to look forward, to understand what went wrong and what we can do to fix it. But for now, just know we are here :hugs:

aww, Sam, I am so sorry.....

Chantal, Even though you paid out of pocket, it wasn't for naught.... you got to see for yourself what was happening and know without a doubt that moving ahead with the D&C is the best option. You were able to make that decision and your care providers were compassionate enough to wait until you were ready to move forward instead of forcing it on you. Still sending you love and angels.....

speaking of Angels.... how are you feeling today, Angel?

fingers crossed for the bfp's we are still waiting for!

Ali..... very sweet! kissing your hand! what a classic move! I'm a huge romantic myself.... I love stuff like that- ahaving doors opened for me, going to dinner etc....

hope this finds you all well...

phil.

Here is Saria at the dinner table with us... she quite enjoys sitting in her highchair while we eat supper!

Hi Phil..

Yes it was very sweet, I was taken off guard a little as I was expecting a hug, so it was a little more awkward then romantic, but the gesture was definitely so.

So I just heard from him, the US went swimmingly, he is definitely having a boy, and he said he had a great time at lunch and is looking forward to our next visit

yippee, Ali!!!!

Sams- yay for getting away--even if it is part work....Aw, I just read your post, I'm sorry hon! Will they do another beta later, or.........? Grab that :wine: and relax if you can. I agree with Ali on the WTF appointment! :growlmad: Maybe look into alternative clinic? How'd dh's swimmers btw..? Go ahead and rant! That's what we're here for! :hugs:

Ali- aw, he's a gentleman! Quick- keep this one!! And Yay for triple lining!! I wonder if having the flu and flu meds affected last time?

Chantal - I agree with Phil, the u/s is sooOOoo worth it! I harangued my doc until I had another one as well  You did the right thing. You're going to be okay! I would ask for the d and s where they use gentle suction rather than scraping-- that is what I had done. I am sorry you are gong thru this :hugs: Just fyi.....here's what happens. You'll change in to a hospital gown (the paper napkin  ) they'll have cautioned you not to eat for a few hours. They'll traipse a few ton of paperwork in front of you, hook you to an ivf for fluid. Then the doc will do a brief examination to ensure you're not retaining water, etc, he'll speak to you to explain the procedure. The anesthesiologist will come talk to you, probably have you sign something...then they'll administer anesthetic through your iv. Sleep well! When you wake it'll be over. You'll be in recovery and an RN will be standing by to talk to you. Then ya getta go home :hugs: You'll do awesome! Then we can focus on staying well and what--are you looking at donor egg/sperm...ivf? We love you here on bnb and will be here for you!

I'm here! Pretending to work :haha: YOU NEED TO EAT MORE!!!

I had a small bowl of oatmeal, and egg white omelet with mushrooms for breakfast, and brown rice, sugar snap peas and 2 beef teriyaki skewers for lunch! I'm going to have some yogurt here in a moment.

Wow, your lunch sounds awesome! Hm...I have been tryingto eat just so my body is only dealing with one issue at a time--namely infection atm. I had chicken breast w/salad for dinner, and of course, ice cream  Albeit I did have toats w/coffee for breakfast but the protein shake is good also  Not sure what's for dinner. Crappy weather so maybe pork steaks in mushroom sauce w/rice? and veggies? Hm...

Ali I am getting excited for your next cycle :happydance: looking good so far!

Sam I am so sorry  Huge  for you.
Re-group and try again. Now they have a better idea how your eggs respond and they will change your protocol so that you have more eggs next time.

Phil your baby girl has such a sweet smile. SHe is being social sitting with you while you eat dinner  Before you know it she will be following your food with her eyes like Coy's little one Aeryn :)

Thank-you ladies for being so supportive. :hugs:
Thanks Coy for preparing me. I already signed all the paperwork on Monday and got blood drawn and had a pelvic exam. They explained all the risks etc. They did this so it wouldn't take as long next Monday. They said I should be in and out in about 3 hours. Dh will drive me home. I will not be put to sleep. They will give me a sedative and local anesthesia. I just hope the machine's noise isn't horrendous. I could have opted to be put to sleep but I would have to wait another week for d & c because they have alot of surgeries booked and this isn't an emergency. :nope: Yes they said it was suction and not scraping.

Yes, I'm happy :) It was fun, and I'm glad he thought so too!!!

Sam and Chantal :hugs::hugs::hugs:

Sam, have a well deserved glass of wine or two and get it out of your system. Like Ali says then get an appointment with your FS to analyse things and to look forward :hugs:

Chantal... your u/s was not a waste of money! It brought you answers and also closure so it was well spent. I'm so sorry you are facing this :hugs:. I have had both natural MCs, waited after MMCs diagnosed to go naturally and D+Cs. Out of them all despite the medical intervention bit the D+Cs were the easiest for me as I didnt physically see things:flower:. I'll be praying for you on Monday.

Ali... yeah for your 'date':happydance::happydance: and I'm glad he's been in contact already. Did you feel any spark, or potential 'if only'?

Coy... I'm sorry that you still have a sick household, but one slightly on the mend if my reading is right. How are the spots on your throat? I loved the pics of Aeryn of FB.

Phil.... that pic was gorgeous:flower:, it makes me feel really broody!:winkwink: Things seem to have settled well for you now? I hope DH is still continuing his recovery x

Ladies... I'm still feeling as rough as :happydance:. I'm hoping it is a good sign. My acupuncturist couldnt believe I was pregnant already when I told her today.

I am reading, just no blooming energy to regularly post :kiss:

:sleep::sleep::sleep::sleep:

Chantal- so glad you got all the stupid paper work out of the way! Did they say the machine would be loud?:nope:

Ali- I forgot to say I am glad you had a good time- wished you didn't have an upset tummy at the time but you took it like a woman! ANd yes I'm gonna :gun: :ninja: the hell oughtta this infection! AFTER i get done cutting wood in the cold cold rain and sleet 8-[ :cold:
