Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

I understand- you are right, that's a bit too much---wow, plus costly! I have one beer in my fridge, it's been there for months!:laugh2: He already has a problem, he needs to face it square on :hugs: No problem on the vent-that's what we're here for!

Coy.. yes that beer with eggs was yummy! Never realized it before.. lol. Also not something I usually drink at all let alone with breakfast! LOL!

Angel.. first off let me say that the pictures of your little boy are adorable!! He looks like he's having the best time out in the snow :)

As for your DH, you are right, you can't make him change, but you have to be strong and stick up for your son, your baby and yourself. If that means going to live with your family for a while so he can see you are serious then do it. It could backfire though, and it could also push him over the edge. I don't know what the right answer is, addiction is a really hard thing to deal with for all involved. I see some that overcome it and are better people and others that wallow and never find their way. It all depends on the individual wanting to heal and those around them to offer the support to help them heal. That first step towards healing has to come from within.

At the same time you can't be the enabler, and continue to accept his behavior. If I were you I'd first talk with a counselor that works with the families of alcoholics, here in the US it's called AL-ANON. They should be able to counsel you on how best to deal with your particular situation and give you the tools to work through the issues.

I wish I could offer more support! Maybe Phil can help? She has had a similar issue with her DH, just a different type of addiction.

In the meantime, try to relax, cherish your time with your son and try not to stress too much about your DH. Your focus has to be on you and the baby right now. Vent all you want here, I'm sure it relieves the stress!

I'm going to go take a hot shower and hope I can make this headache go away! :grr:

Ali- great advice! I sometimes forget that we can be enablers by accepting or at the very least dealing with the behavior...I hadn'tt thought of that.

I am currently thinking chicken casserole for dinner. So do I pre-make the stuffing to put on top or put it on dry? Also.....some recipes call for crushed butter crackers instead. Anybody ever try that? My first attempt at a casserole 8-[

I know a little bit about addiction.. brother and 2 ex-bfs ;)

HMM.. well, stuffing might be lower in fat? Ritz type crackers are yummy, but it's because of all the butter in them! Go with what you have at hand

Good morning ladies!! :hi: :flower:

Afternoon! Is it bad that I felt like a beer with breakfast? Or that I ended up drinking one? I didn't have lunch until 11ish..

How is everyone doing? I had a monster headache again.. the beer has helped!

Ali I had my first beer in 2 years with dinner. Played trivia at Buffulo wild wings with dh, brother in law and his g/f

Dh loves when I make casseroles then he doesn't have many dishes to wash  I made one last night with pasta, cheeses, asparagus and grilled chicken. Panko bread crumbs (Aleia's makes a gluten free one now) combined with olive oil and parm cheese make an yummy topping too

Dh bought a huge fish tank today from someone who was selling theirs and then we went to the pet store to buy a siphon vacumn, aquarium heater ph test strips and some other things. They were out of Angel fish so will have to visit another pet store. Still have to get the tank all set up tomorrow. I also said hi to my favorite sun conure(parrot). He is so friendly and a real clown. I would love to buy him but I have read that pregnant women and children under the age of 5 should not handle conures as they transmit chlamydiosis :( At least I can watch the angel fish while I meditate :winkwink:

Ok, mini rant...I am trying so hard to get everything done but it's just me you know? I know he is sick but I am sick too. But I still have to bail out, make breakfast, do all the cooking, cleaning, kid things, shopping, woodcutting- even when it's blowing snow and sleet out and my rib is broken. I asked today if he wanted anything from the store because I was running out to shop--nope, he says. So I get home, bust through making dinner, desert (he wanted apple pie) cut wood in the biting wind (yes it's butt cold for some reason..maybe I'm a wiener now :haha: ) anyway, then I feed the dd's, start the fireplace, and run in to do my school which is due today. As soon as I sit down he comes in after taking a long nap and says "by the way that Gatorade flavor is crap- go get me something different when you get the chance if you're going out again." :saywhat: NO I am NOT going out again! It is night time, I am late my assignment, and if I don't get it done in the next hour I'm screwed. Aaaaarrrggghhh!

I think becuse I have to do things or they won't get done I am super focused on stuff...dh seems to think I am unaffected by being sick. I feel it too.

well forget it. I'm tired. I'll just be a day late on my assignment. I don't feel like busting my a$$ to get done in half hour then go put everyone to bed...do the dishes...plus Aeryn is kicking the crap out iof my one free typing hand  she's a mean baby :haha:

All I can do is laugh at this point :sad2: lol!

Make Sunday's mom day! Even God took a day off
Teagen is old enough now to have chores, and your DH will just have to get out of bed to make breakfast!

Coy I agree with Ali. Sunday should be your off day! When I was Teagan's age I helped with chores alot.

Me too! I had to keep my room clean, feed the dog, set the table for dinner, take out the garbage, help with clearing the table and doing the dishes. I also got interested in cooking and would learn/help in the kitchen too.

Off soon to meet my Mom for her birthday lunch. Should be fun! Then I'm having her come back to my house for a little bit to check out my paint colors, I'm having difficulty picking out the yellow, the green is great, but the yellow that my painter used is neon, it has to be re-done :(

Where is everyone?

Aeryn has started to say "mommy" alot! It's so awesome to hear it from her...it started out as Momomomommom but she is starting to tone it down a bit :haha: Now when she sees me she smiles and says MOMMMMMM! lol...dh sys when I go shopping she looks for me and chants it :cloud9: What a sweet baby :hugs:

That is really awesome :) She is soooo cute :)

Had a great lunch with my Mom, but we were outside and it was sooooo windy, and it was also 90 degrees outside. :dohh: We are supposed to get another cold front which will cool us off, I'm not ready for 90 degree heat yet :nope: If it continues I'm going to Canada :haha:

I think we've figured out the color I'm going to re-paint my living room, the neon yellow is just not working for me. Here are so pictures of the neon yellow, and paint swatches of the new options.

Let me know what new color you like best! I'm partial to the 2 on the left, I think they will work best in my house.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Chantal - Best of luck tomorrow, I hope the procedure is quick and painless, and you can move forward with DE!!

Sams - I hope you are doing OK, and are healing, it is a hard thing to do after a failed IVF cycle.

Angel - I hope you are feeling OK today, and are considering your options. Alcoholism is not an easy thing to deal with either.

On that note, I'm going to go lie down and try to rid myself of this damnable headache! Then off to the store for yogurt, fruit, carrots, tea, and gas for the car. Oh and I need to think of something to eat for dinner  Maybe chicken kebabs and rice? IDK, I will see what looks yummy!

Coy- If you want another, do it! Aeryn is such a cutey pie. :baby:I'm a little po'd at your DH. It sounds like you are doing all the work and he's sitting back. I don't like that at all. :growlmad: Hang in there. I hope you had a better day today. :flower: It's tough with kids, the house and trying to study! I give you lots of credit.

Chantal- Hope you are ok. Hang in there honey. Praying for you

Alicatt- I don't think your yellow is neon, but if you don't like it then I guess change it. I was thinking of changing my dining room to yellow also. Its a hard color to perfect.

Babywhisper- The clinic is in Melville. I'm going to see what they say. I got a referral for someone in Syosset. I may try him. I heard he was very experienced and nice.

AFM- I'm tired. I'm fine. I spend the weekend away on work related stuff. Real exciting stuff, I feel I can take these 8 weeks to get in shape and really exercise and feel better before a second round. I have to say I was horrible on Friday night. I had margaritas and Mexican food and I ate until I couldn't breathe. Freshology went out the door. What a waste of money! I gained 3 lbs in one weekend. I didn't even gain three lbs during the stimming.

Life stinks sometimes..

SAMs.. how many calories are in the freshology food? Your body may need more calories than what is in them. You could buy a few good snacks to eat between the meals, like a yogurt or some carrot sticks. That will help! Just keep at it : thumbup:

i just was very disappointed and that is how I dealt with it. By eating everything in site!
