Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Yes Melly it does give me hope that Halle is pregnant at 46. She also has diabetes so not an easy pregnancy for her even though she says that she feels great. Yes she will probably be back to her pre-pregnancy size in no time. When you have lots of money you can have a personal trainer and chef and workout 24/7.

I'm call BS on Halle doing it naturally. I agree that Halle most likely had her eggs frozen and did IVF. She said she is "surprised" and I don't doubt that she is, even with IVF and frozen eggs. All that said, my grandma (God rest her blessed soul) was miracle from the day she was born, a little over 2 pounds in 1914. She was the youngest surviving premie in Kansas until the 70s. THEN she had her last child at 46...NATURALLY with my grandpa who was 58 (my uncle was a very healthy baby). So, YES, having a child at 46 is possible; however, she grew up during a different time (without processed foods, stress and crazy pollutants), so I think that played to her advantage.

Gotta love Halle, she gives us all hope. Oh, and I'm sure she'll have a smoking, rock hard body two weeks after shooting out that baby. Amazing with money can get you these days. ;-)

Good morning ladies! Well...technically morning for the next half hour :haha: I've been up, showered, made coffee, showered and dressed dd's, made breakfast (oats, boiled eggs, biscuits, and fruit for them--yogurt, protien shake for me), now they are happily esconced in schoolwork  Aeryn is dozing, and I am considering a second pot of coffee :coffee: It is snowy here today. Yesterday I spent hours out in wet cold snow/rain/crap drizzle :growlmad: but managed to work up nearly a cord of firewood...just sort, toss, stack and split a few days worth. Then I hauled diesal, squabbled with a dude over truck tire rims and walked out...I am NOT paying twice what its worth just because I'm a woman [-( Sheesh!

Then I did my assignment and prepped my team for finals this week

Today....ugh, not sure. Thinking its a budgeting/bill paying day  :nope: lol!

How are you all doing?

Babywhisperer---have you tested yet???

Trust me...there is hope! My grandma is a good example and I also have a cousin that had two "accidental" babies in her 40s, when her two older children were 18 and 20 years old. Surprise! :winkwink:

Where is everybody?

Rundown...K, we have Ali...waiting for FET!! :happydance: Babywhisperer- in her 2WW!from IuI YAY! Sams: waiting for another IVF cycle in June (?) Chantal- healing and waiting for..IVF or ED? Have you decided Chantal or are you and dh still considering options? And Coy (me  lol ) NTNP with a small edge towatds ttc...based on turning 38 :argh: soon.

I did have a dream I poas and got :bfp: YIKES! lol...

I think I am on CD10 so...judging from my last 2 months I should ovulate in like, say...a week? I'll start opk'ing maybe tomorrow.

Not been on here for a while, and still not able to keep up with posts.

This whole TTC is certainly an insight , after a few months on ovulation testing I thought I had it almost sussed. Then got AF on Day 24 and O on CD15 this month ....... guess this is nothing unusual.

Blimey Halle pregnant at 46 certainly gives us hope A friend of mine is due to give birth to baby 3 at 41 this May so all positives.

Fbs-- I think ovulating around CD15 is pretty much normal? I had a baby in October and am breastfeeding so I think that might throw my ovluation off a bit...How long have you been trying? Good to have you on board!

You forgot ANGEL who is PREGNANT!!! :happydance:

OMG- I didn't forget...I had it typed on Word doc then only copied half of the dumb thing...I also missed the part about when the cop visited our house :dohh: O well...

Yep! Angel is preggo :baby: Can't wait for her first appointment!

How are you Ali??

Yeah, K, so AFM--the cop who cited me on the stupid fairytale chicken thing? He came and apologized  About $1000,00 dollars too late fella! :growlmad: Appreciated but...late.

Well I havent been on in months...but we are doing our last IUI (attempt)this weekend. I am sad but I know we are already talking about whats next. We are going to try and adopt through the foster care system...Had my 40th birthday last month...the upside is I just got back from a week at Disney World. I wish the best to all the wonderful ladies on here

AFM - I'm GRUMPY!!! :grr: Ninja :ninja: day kicked my a$$ I don't think it helps much that I'm PMSing and my PMSing is like 10 times worse then it normally is. These patches and PIO shots are turning me into a monster! I got the Lupron today, and it turns out that my co-pay was only $99 not the full $149. Not sure why? Makes no sense to me. As it should be considered a generic, which is $10, or excluded because it is used for fertility, so $99 doesn't make sense. Oh well, I was expecting $149 so I guess $99 is better!

It is after 5 so I am pretty much done for the day, but I feel like I didn't get anything accomplished other than be pestered ALL day!

So I get to stab my belly with the Lupron 1x a day and my rear with the PIO 1x a day. My rear already has the lumps from the last 6 days of PIO  I have no idea how I could ever do this for my entire first trimester! Good news is that I only have to do it for 4 more days!

I think I should carry a warning sign.. 'Warning.. Hormonal Bitch Here.. Approach with Caution!'

JandK- Fx'd for this IUI! I cannot remember from your past posts but have you been to see an FS? Could it be timing issues, cm issues, etc? What have you tried in past? Could it be your donor? Also- yay for your willingness to adopt! :hugs: Even tho we have 3 dd's dh and I would love to adopt! We are thinking older children (7-15, etc) as not to o many folks want them and they still have those little kid hearts! :hugs: I love the idea of adoption, when thereis love to go round and peoople who need it-- so glad you are considering it!

Please keep in touch, I have wondered how you are doing. Let us know how your IUI goes and if bfn how your journey through adoption goes

Ali- "Hormonal Bitch Here...Approach With Caution"....Thanks for the warning!! :haha: Aw, you have been such an amazing tooper on this IVF journey, I gotta give you credit--I am impressed with your determiation and your absolute ability when it comes crunch time. You can handle anything that is tossed your way. Don't worry about the future, try to relax now :hugs: Re:Lupron and PIO. sucks but  glad you have it! And yeah, that co-pay is a little junked up but...better than paying full price. How long does the Lupron last?

Coy great news that your family are all feeling better! :happydance: My body is hurting all over too. I did the same as you with the squats. Used too heavy weights. Not smart after I was taking it easy since I got my bfp last month. I had only done swimming and yoga since February. :nope: Today I used 3 pound weights :haha: and exercising was a much nicer experience. Glutes and abs are killing me though :haha:

Ali you will see the light at the end of the tunnel soon
I hear you about co-pays. I hate going to the mailbox. Bills bills bills..and no baby to show for it. I have paid out close to 2,000 so far and more to come..Dh's new insurance sucks. That last ultrasound is going to cost 650 and it is not covered so have to pay out of pocket.

I'm going to make it through.. just needed to vent! The Lupron comes in a cute little kit, with its own alcohol wipes and needles and vial, and is supposed to last for 2 weeks, but I'm not sure at what dose. I'm supposed to do 3cc or .3ml and there is 2.8ml in the bottle. So technically it will only last for 9 days? HMM. I seem to recall it lasting for longer than that. I only used 1 bottle for my entire IVF cycle last time  So IDK?

At least my uterus isn't achy anymore! Gotta find that silver lining somewhere :winkwink:

Yikes! That is expensive!!! Even when I pay for them on my own at the FS they only charge me $295 I think, but usually wrapped into a package they lower them to $225 or something like that. So $650 is ridiculous!

I just increased my insurance so I now pay more out of my pay check, but only have a $1000 deductible, and all imaging and labs are supposed to be 100% covered. Co-pays to see Dr's are now $20 and $40 with urgent care at $50 and ER at $200 (maybe $100 can't remember). They cover infertility TESTING but not infertility procedures, nor do they cover infertility meds, or bariatric surgery. So WHEN I have my baby I will have to pay the first $1000 then that is all. I think once the baby is on my policy the family deductible raises, but that doesn't happen until the baby is added to the policy I hope! Oh, and the Rx coverage is at $10 generic, $30 preferred brand, and $60 non-preferred brand, but again I have no idea how they came up with $99 for my Lupron?

It is decent coverage, but there are several women on the IVF boards that live in NY and NJ where it is mandatory to have infertility coverage through health insurance, and another woman that bought supplemental insurance for 1 year of infertility insurance (but apparently it was mega expensive), I'm thinking it couldn't have been as expensive as my costs!!!

Glad you are feeling physically better. I know how much of an emotional roller coaster this is and to deal with life/work stress and demands on top of it all can be overwhelming. Bur think of it this way, when that baby is an indignant teen you can honestly tell them that you brought them into this world and you can take them out!!!

Coy, happy to hear your family is finally on the mend! Also happy the cop who filed that ridiculous complaint apologized..mt suggestion, act all sweet and helpless and ask for him to right the situation and help you find whoever is slashing your tires as you have an ailing dh and 3 dd's 1 being a newborn. Maybe you will appear to his compassionate side or he will see it as an opportunity to clear his conscience and earn praise at his job if he catches this jerk. Just my $.02

Chantal, already back to lifting weights? I guess you're feeling good

Ali, fyi we are paying for 10k lifetime fertility coverage to the tune of 5k in premiums. Dh's law firm only opted to get a plan that covered up to 10k. Each firm/company is different.

Coy, you are a bad influence for POAS! I am not testing until Friday at the earliest which will be 12dpiui. I feel that if I get a bfn then it will be a negative beta on Monday, and I really want to stop the progesterone suppositories asap and get back to working out. I did but some First Response tests tonight on my drug store run :winkwink:

Afm, feeling NOTHING. Seriously, even feeling less side effects from the progesterone today. I'm not as tired today either. I really wonder why.

Hey! Good luck this time! I hope you get your miracle :baby: but if you don't then adoption is a wonderful thing! I was adopted and thank God each day for the amazing family I was adopted into. So it sounds like you will get your miracle, if not by IUI then by adoption! Please keep us updated on the progress!
