Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali- wow, you get to go baby shopping! :happydance: Sounds like awesome fun! I love baby shopping. Awesome that Vlad is able to spend some extra time in FL--and if it coincides with your rest period that'd be awesome too  Why does Lupron make you itchy? Just the injection site?

Am looking for work again- thinking of UPS as they are hiring right now, plus maybe some security as I am fully licensed and they are hiring just about 30 miles from here ...hm. Fx'd!

Yes I get to go baby shopping :happydance: it will be like a trial run for when I have to do it. Woohoo :) Yes we'll see when he plans to be here and whether it works with my schedule. I'm sure we'll spend some time together, just not sure how much depending on when he is here.

Well initially the injection site is itchy, its like I just got a mosquito bite there, it gets all red and splotchy and itchy, but that tends to go away in 30 mins or so. Then I get the insomnia, and the headaches, and the jitters, and I think looking back it was the Lupron that helped me lose the weight between IVF 1 and IVF2.

Hi Ladies

Ali that is wonderful that you feel like the energizer bunny on the lupron. I remember that it made me very bloated. Progesterone constipates me. :nope: So I am happy you are feeling great  That will be so much fun going shopping with Vladimir :happydance:

Coy sounds like you are super busy. Can't say I have ever had the experience since I have no children. The older I get I think I am losing all my energy. This morning I didn't even get up with dh to make breakfast. He is too lazy to prepare anything so he ends up eating a protein bar. I have been sleeping way too much these days. :nope:

My father in law said since I have alot of time now I could help him with some secretarial work for his new business. I wish I could escape. Not looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas since I always get stuck doing all the cooking and everyone comes here. I had a dream that someone poisoned the cat I used to have (he died of old age) Well every time I dream about cats someone I know goes to the hospital or dies.

EEK.. don't dream about cats! I am sure that you are still going through the stages of grief and it will take time to get energy again. It is good you are eating, didn't you say you wanted to gain some weight? Just keep taking each day at a time. You will get there hun :flower:

Ali- you should volunteer :ninja: when you take Lupron..insomnia and energizer bunny! That's an awesome employee! :haha:

NOOOOO.. just because I have energy doesn't mean I suddenly need less sleep :haha: Ali loves  I miss it. I fear losing it when I have rug rats!

My diet is sooOoo rotten today. Too much coffee (well, I've enjoyed it, but really shouldn't iykwim) and I had a bagel :sad1: and now I am eating vanilla ice cream. I think I am searching for a sugar rush :haha: I need to sleep :laugh2:

I've been really good today. I think that is also why Lupron helps me. I don't have an appetite! I have had my breakfast and lunch and my tea and now water. Oh and 2 reeces easter eggs :haha: The breakfast was GF french toast stuffed with bananas, lunch was a turkey burger in a GF bun with spinach and roasted peppers on top with balsamic sauce. I think I have salmon for dinner. If that is all I eat today it will be 1200 calories. Healthy, GF and properly portioned. Can't beat that!

"Well every time I dream about cats someone I know goes to the hospital or dies" YIKES! :saywhat: Um, um, we are BACK from hospital now, so....:argh: I know what you mean- my dh sometimes has dreams like that too. Your fatigue is understandable, you lose a lot of blood during d and c, that needs to be rebuilt--I would check into maybe an iron supp for a bit? Sleep if you need it!

Ali- yes, higher than normal chance of getting slashed :nope: Nuts :sad1:

Maybe you need to get a dash cam? Or something? Catch the guy in the act!!! There has to be some way to catch this guy!!! I is NOT a coincidence that you've had your tires slashed more than 2 times at the same store! :nope:

No, I know- yes we are looking into heightened security....ugh, what I want is a million dollars, my bills paid a year in advance  new neighbors  no tonsil spots  and a huge king size bed and hours to

K, I know that is unrealistic. I'll settle for some chocolate and early to bed :haha: Aside from the ice cream I have some serious plans to eat healthy. PLANS :haha: lol

I know.. our wish lists are long.. and totally unrealistic. But we all have to have dreams! OMG I think I could fall over and  right now. Stupid Lupron kept me up until 2am!

Well Coy you need to actually eat to be healthy :haha: Try protein in the morning, or oatmeal. Both of those things will get your metabolism running and it will sustain you and help you lose the weight!!! I promise! Then no more carbs (or limited carbs the rest of the day) and NO EATING after 8. If you stick to that plan I guarantee you will lose weight. But you have to eat a minimum of 200 calories of good healthy food every few hours to keep that metabolism burning. If you starve yourself it shuts off. Then you don't lose anything :nope: So think salad, protein, veggies for lunch and dinner, and a big bowl of oatmeal for breakfast!! Do it for a week, and I bet you lose lose that stubborn belly!!

Coy I agree with Ali. A dash cam is a great idea  Catch the guy in the act!
Dr Oz said that protein is very important first thing in the morning. It gives you a boost of energy and gets your metabolism going and that helps you to lose weight. He said not to eat after 7:30 pm. My dh always breaks that rule :nope: He says the protein doesnt give him energy but I can feel it working within 10 mins of drinking a protein shake. Hard boiled eggs are also a good source of protein. Peanut butter on apple slices is also good :)

I was looking forward to ttcing again while we wait for donor egg consult. Dh is paranoid that we will keep having miscarriages. So he doesnt want to ttc anymore I don't know what will happen in 2 weeks. I guess birth control? I just cannot wrap my mind around that one.

Yep.. protein is great in the morning, but oatmeal has both protein and carbs, and it fills you up! So either will do. Chicken, pork tenderloin, lean beef, all good. As for when to stop eating, it depends on when you go to bed. If you go to bed at midnight like me I think you can eat until 8ish, but ya, no snacking before bed. If you are going to snack at night, eat celery!!! Celery takes more energy to digest it than it does in it, so a great thing to eat at night. The key to losing weight is eating the right things at the right times, and the right portion size of each. It is not difficult to understand, but it is very difficult to execute. It takes time and preparation, and planning too. So for most busy families the boxed lasagna wins out :dohh:

Ali- boxed lasagna YES! lol! Its so easy and I don't eat it anyway, too guilty afterward :haha:

Chantal- yes, I feel a def boost when I eat protein. In fact I am headed to get a protein shake now....I always have such odd hours! Never to bed until 1 am if I get to bed around 10 I am lucky with a capital "L" lol. I have a bad habit of needing some kind of carb with my coffee in the morning, you know- toast, a biscuit, cracker- something. But not too hard to break. Sometimes I just have yogurt with it. Maybe if I have the yogurt and a slice of toast with PB? Hm......Thanks ladies!

re:ttc again. I wouldn't do the BC either- if you get preggo again YAY! Just cause it was mc this time doesn't mean it will be next time. And who knows- might get ya a perfect swimmer this time! :hugs:

I hear you.. that is the problem with our society, it is so easy to throw a boxed lasagne into the oven and serve it to your family, but the thing is that it is borderline toxic to feed your family. The preservatives, and the poor quality meat, and lack of vegetables and high starch content is just plain horrible for your kids and especially for your DH. That is why there are so many people with type 2 diabetes! :dohh: You shouldn't feed your kids anything that you wouldn't eat for health reasons, they will just eat more of it, or not stress about the extra layer of cheese or the extra scoop of ice cream, etc. Just think of it as teaching them proper eating habits for the future!

Chantal - I'm with Coy, NTNP until the DE things happen and don't stress about it either way! That is the beauty of this time between the MC and gearing up for the DE cycle. You can just relax, not stress about it and just enjoy your DH and do things that make you happy. If you want an extra cup of coffee, have it, if you want a beer, have it! Right now you are free to take advantage of those things, and also  so think of this time as recharging your batteries and doing the things that you want to do before you are pregnant! I always try to see the silver lining!! It helps :flower:

Ali- I agree. Dh is half Italian and swears the stuff is authentic :laugh2: I don't like how heavy it sits on my tummy :nope:

Yep.. tastes OK (for processed food) but I feel horrible afterwards, I think it sits in my tummy like a big lump!

I'm half Italian too, but everything we make is from scratch when we have time or else it's take out! Dh made ravioli and sauce for us last night. I was saying I had no progesterone side effects then 7pm hit and I got very tired. In bed before 10!!

I call bs on Coy having a belly! I bet it's skin bc you are a skinny minny.

Chantal, maybe the dream was about the pregnancy and your subconscience is accepting it. Lets ask Freud. Oh wait....damn. I have crazy dreams too sometimes. I wish I knew what they meant.

Ali yeah for shopping with V. Everyone is in a good mood then!

Afm still nada. Just enlarged boobs and fatigue. I'm eating fruit a d almonds for breakfast so the constipation is not as bad. I'm not just saying this, but in my heart I don't feel prego. I'm getting my mind ready for IVF.
