Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

OMG BW pics please! Another way to upload it is to take a pic with your phone and upload it to an online provider like Flickr, you may need to create an account if you dont have one.

When you have uploaded the pic find the 'share pic' option and copy the BB Code. Paste this BB code into your message and it should transfer the pic over xo

Ali... the other interview went ok although I think I did underperform as I was so hyper from the morning's news. I didnt tell them anything about the other offer and it's now late afternoon here so I dont think I got it. Oh well, I was thinking about them both last night and although the 2nd job is an area that I specialise in the job that I have got offered I think will use more of my skills and challenge me in a different way. It's also closer to home so I think God is guiding me at the moment :winkwink:

BW... I havent said about my pregnancy, I'll cross that bridge in a few weeks time I think. I know employers cant discriminate but I do feel a tad awkward as the timing from their point of view isn't fabulous. I just need to figure out when to tell them, I have legally until I am 25 weeks but I suspect I will have frequent hospital appointments so I'll probably have to tell them pretty sharpish . In the UK we get paid time off to attend ante-natal appointments. I wont be entitled to the company's maternity pay but that doesnt bother me as I never got enhanced maternity pay with my DS so I know I just need to get saving like mad over the next few months in preparation.

Angel, it sounds like fate is pushing you towards the first job, that while closer my be more challenging. IDK how you feel about that but I enjoy a challenge and find a job that is challenging more rewarding and fulfilling. Don't stress about telling them about your bean. It doesn't need to be discussed until it needs to be discussed. Once you are there, and have created a bond with your boss, you can let him/her know or if you prefer just tell HR. It is what it is, and if you are doing a great job (like I know you will) then they will be happy for you and the appointments here and there will not be an issue. Key here NO STRESS! That for me like like the pot calling the kettle black!! :haha: since I'm a giant stress ball :dohh: I do try though, and I'm going to be doing a lot more de-stressing once I get closer to starting my FET. ZENNNNNNN OHM!! Will be my mantra!!

Sams - it is annoying and I felt the exact same way in January.. do you remember? I was so mad that my body wasn't getting back to normal. :growlmad: I had to do the provera too. It is progesterone so you take it for a week -10 days and the withdrawal causes you to have a period which is supposed to jumpstart the cycle. So if that is what is necessary don't hold off!! Ask for the Rx so you don't waste anymore time. That is my humble opinion!!

BabyWhisperer - DID I HEAR YOU CORRECTLY? A BFP!!!! OMG :happydance: :yipee: :wohoo: Yes you can upload a picture. When posting, scroll down to the 'Additonal Options' below, and there is a 'Manage Attachments' button. Click on that, and a new window will appear. Click 'Choose File', then expand the window so it is a full screen, and on the far right there is an 'Upload' button. Click on that. Then once it is loaded just close that window. When you get back to the message window you'll see the file in the 'Attach Files' in the Additional Options below. Then click Submit Reply, and the photo should be there!!! OMG I can't wait to see it PIC PIC PIC!!!!!

Ok will try

THAT IS A BFP!!! They are usually faint like that early on, by say 16-20 DPO they should be darker. :happydance: :headspin: :yipee: :wohoo: CONGRATS you are pregnant my dear!!! SEE?? I told you the hormones can hide pregnancy!!! WOHOO!!! So don't stop the progesterone, keep taking the meds, and go get that BETA on Monday Can't wait to hear what it is!!!!

A woman at 40 on the IVF thread just got her first ever BFP, her first BETA was only 37 (at 14 DPO) but it doubled to 117 2 days later, so she is bouncing off the walls excited :happydance: It CAN happen!!!

Thanks, just being cautious as it could be a chemical or not last. I'm scared to get excited only to lose it. I peed on the ic and didn't look until 2 hrs later. Oops.

Yep.. it is good to be cautious at this point, you are right there are a lot of things that could go wrong, but also a lot of things that could go right!!! So try to think positively, and do what you can to get through until Monday for that BETA. Do you think you could call your FS and get a BETA today? Course it is probably too late to get the results today, so I guess you may as well wait until Monday. I'm still excited for you!!!! :happydance:

Thanks hun, I woke up dh and he couldn't go back to sleep. I told him to be cautious too. Just gonna do bw on Monday but let them know I got a faint line today. I have been going to sleep at 9 every night I get home and crash but nothing else so I was thinking it was the progesterone. Still in shock.

Beautiful!! Congratulations!

OMG Congratulations on your :bfp: Babywhisperer! :yipee: Didn't I tell you the other day that you were testing too early and the lack of symptoms you were worried about meant nothing. I felt more symptoms day of bfp the months I wasn't pregnant! Except for the sore breasts from the progesterone of course. :wohoo:! I am so happy for you!! Oh and I am so so glad you will have early monitoring for peace of mind since you did IUI! Lots of vaginal ultrasounds and progesterone for that little bean! Yay :wohoo:You just made my day!!

Thanks babe, I did IUI and it was my first so I'm in disbelief that its real or will last. I have no symptoms just exhausted when I get home but that's probably the progesterone. Hope the beta will have a good result. I waited until today to test given that 12dpiui has a better than 80% chance of picking up a +.

I'm jumping out of my skin inside and trying to be practical. I'm 37 and its our first IUI. I'm petrified of getting too ahead of myself only to be disappointed.

I was all set to stop the progesterone tomorrow too bc it's pretty gnarly. I don't think we will tell anyone if and when we are in the clear.

So wish I was busy at work to make this dreary day go by faster. It's pouring in the city, cold and windy. What happened to our 80 degrees the other day!!

Be cautious but optimistic!!! There is no reason to worry that this bean won't stick! Just keep doing what they tell you and keep the faith  So the next steps are 2-3 BETAs M/W/F to make sure it is doubling, they will probably test your P4 (progesterone) and then in another week from Monday I think they will want to do a US to see if they can find the sac. I could be off on my timing, but you can ask them when you go in on Monday.:happydance:

Today is your beta test day right Babywhisperer? Or was the testing day on your signature the one calculated for your cycle day?

BabyWhisper - Congratulations!! That is awesome new. I, too, am 37 and considering IUI. Did you do IUI with your DH sperm? Did you do natural or with hormones? Yay!! So excited for you!

Thank you. I did IUI with dh's sperm, we also bd 2 days before, the night of IUI. I was on 75 units of Gonal F for 9 nights. Ovidrel trigger and then progesterone suppositories. Beta is Monday.

Babywhisperer- Yay! :happydance: :headspin: OMG, this is awesome! I don't think you have anything to worry about with the trigger at this point--I thought about that too, but they wouldn't schedule you for BETA for Monday if your trigger was still there on Friday  I am so excited! And those aren't like super faint lines either girl--those are strong lines! Yay! Congrats hon, I am so happy for you! :hugs:

Now- you are going to be hit with myriad of emotions (ahem)

1) shock
2) worry
3) disbelief
4) OMG AM I READY FOR A BABY??!!

LOL! We all go through it. You try and try then when it happens you're like "how in hell did this happen?!" lol. My dh always looks stunned for a second then like "Whaa....??" lol

I know you will stress about losing it, just relax- no reason for you to worry about that. Congrats and looking forward to that beta! :hugs:

Quick---send some of your super sticky :dust: :dust: out here!!

You hit the nail on the head. I'm feeling all of the above. Still in shock. Not much of an appetite today, probably from nerves. Sending sticky vibes your way.

Now how do I pass the time without going crazy?

K ladies, I skimmed through the posts as I caught wind of a :bfp: so was scanning for it! :laugh2: I saw something about wine slushies, Ali finally getting a silent "don't mess with me" alarm  and hating humid weather.

I am in agreement with all of it! :haha:

AFM- Started getting EWCM yesterday so guess I will probably start testing opk today. Still oficially NTNP but at this point- Fx'd :)

YES!!! I think we are on a roll on this thread.. much more positive news than a few short weeks ago. :happydance:

I'm looking forward to my :wine: slushies!!! At this point I think I need a :wine: IV!!!

You have no idea how happy I am to hear that Angel is at 9+ weeks and BabyWhisperer got her BFP on her first IUI!!!! :wohoo: I understand you being worried but don't worry too much, we don't want that little bean getting wind of that worry. Just think happy thoughts and hope for the best :thumbup:

I hope I'm next.. 5 weeks to wait :coffee:

That is a difficult one! is just part of the process I think. Research what comes next? Maybe go buy the what to expect when expecting book? Maybe curl up with a good book? Cook up a storm? Sleep ? Make your DH tell you funny storied? Go get a marathon of funny movies from the video store or VOD? The one I found hilarious and hit very close to home was 'the back up plan' with J.Lo and she gets an IUI? Cute and funny.. definitely a ROMCOM. Still I'd pick up all sorts of things to help you pass the time. Anyway you can to keep your mind off things!!!

you can't do it without being a little crazy! I kept POAS 2-3 times a day for the first couple of months- until I heard the baby's heartbeat at 9 weeks.... then I just POAS a couple of times per week!

I was crazy all the way through! we bought a fetal doppler so I could keep hearing the heartbeat and I was checking for it ALL the time!!

So excited for you! miracles can happen! Yay for yours!!!
