Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Aprx 6 DPO here...Trying to ignore pelvic twinges & pings. Luckily I don't have any fresh tests at hand either. Just some old (expired like 2010, IIRC) strip cheapies that I need to throw out when I locate them. I.will.not.use.them!:nope::laugh2:

Promised myself that I won't bother buying an HPT until I'm super late. Maybe I'll actually do some laundry to pass the time. :laundry::hangwashing:

We can wait it out together....

Morning Ladies :hi:

I think testing POAS is great! We've been on a roll here lately. So FX'd for more positive news! I think the FRER's will pick up anything from 9-14DPO. Just got to give the bean a few days to implant, and that happens between 6-9DPO. :dust:

Coy - great to hear you are up and running with your DD's. I'm sure Kat is enjoying feeling like a big girl today. I hope T's tests go well

Angel and BabyWhisperer - how goes the pregnancy battle? I hope you are both feeling well and happily pregnant!! :happydance:

AFM - I got silvadene and an antibiotic for my burn. The antibiotic is doing wonders for my ear! I was pretty sure I had an infection in there, but nobody could see it. I'm like that is why they call it the INNER ear :haha: So the antibiotics are helping that more than my skin, but the silvadene is like instant calming to the burn. So that helps a lot  I'm to go back if it looks like its getting worse or not getting better by Wednesday.

The hardwood installers are here today, and are making a lot of noise. All that banging and crashing. My poor head is going to be hurting! They have done most of the tear out of the old carpet, and are prepping the master bedroom floor now for hardwood laying.

I did something stupid this morning :dohh: I took a benadryl instead of a zyrtec, and now I'm soooooo  sleepy. I really just want to crawl into bed. Only problem is that my bed is currently vertical and in my master bath! So that is what I'm up to today! :flower:

Ali- is that the reason you're up? Your bed is all ripped out? :haha: Otherwise you'd sooOoooo be  lol! Do you get today off? Wow, I didn't know you had an inner ear infection, that's awful :nope: Glad you are finally getting it treated  What is silvadene?

Yep, I am still sitting here....I think T is ISAT'ing her reading comprehension atm....Kat is driving me nuts--she keeps ripping her headphones off and wanting to go "check" on Teagen :laugh2: ah well....then as Kat is working she keeps laughing out loud and talking cause she has headphones on and THINKS we can't hear her  lol!

The wind is literally whistling outside :cold:

Nope didn't take the day or week off. Working remotely from home. I relocated my office to the kitchen. So I would be out of the installers way (my office is normally on the second floor where all the destruction is occurring).

I wish I was in bed  silly me taking a benadryl at 8:30am. :dohh: They'll get my bed put back together by the end of the day and I'll be able to sleep then.

Silvedene is a salve/cream to treat burns. It is amazing! It takes the sting out and has silver in it so it has the antibiotic built in. So I'm to apply that 2x a day, and take the Keflex 3x a day.

I didn't know for sure if I had an inner ear infection or not. My Dr has looked in my ears like 3 times! It's been bothering me since mid-January. I knew something was up in there, but it wasn't until I took the antiobiotic last night that I had some almost instant relief from the pressure in my ear. I was like.. WOW! That feels better! So I'm glad I'm taking the Keflex too :)

OK so Zoe is driving me NUTS wanna switch Kat for Zoe?? I'm sitting at the kitchen table and I think she thinks there is food here since that is what I normally do when I sit at the kitchen table.. EAT. I keep telling her that Mommy is working but it is like she needs to see for herself! She is whining at my side, and trying to jump up on the chair beside me to make sure she isn't missing anything. Zach is just laying at my feet with his head on my foot. I guess it is a good headrest?

YES I will sooo trade Zoe for Kat right now! Kat keeps whispering loudly and is now demanding the sucker she knows is waiting in the car..I told them when we are all done testing they each get a sucker ON THE WAY HOME so Kat is all like "well, I'm ready to go home now- where's my sucker?" lol! Argh! Then she's playing "spinny" in her swivel chair

Zoe makes me laugh- maybe she knows the house is torn asunder and doesn't like it?

I put her on the chair beside her, that helped. She finally stopped whining. Now she is sitting on the top of the couch sighing loudly. I swear she is going to drive me bonkers!!! At least she isn't incessantly whining!

Well if I were you I'd tell Kat that only good girls get suckers, and she has to learn to sit STILL and patiently wait for T to finish or she won't get her sucker. How mean am I? :haha: I wish I could reason with Zoe, but it isn't possible. They just don't get it. :winkwink:

Oh, hey, on a positive note I did eat breakfast this morning :smug: I made me eat eggs and toast with my coffee. I realized at 4 this morning all I had eaten the day before is a cup of yogurt  Not smart. It was kind of a bad day and my appetite was off. Anywho- I feel better for having eaten something. Got my brain wrapped around some more :coffee: when I get home tho .... Kids are stresss I swear LOL! I would love a cuddly little ZOe right now :)

Zach is the cuddly monkey.. Zoe just needs to be beside me. Zach on the other hand wants to be on top of me!

I think a firm hand is a good way to raise children. They need to learn that awards come to those that work hard. So firm is good. Let's face it, the real world is not all flowers and puppy dogs, and so teaching them to succeed without the unicorns and rainbows is best :haha: So you are totally doing the right thing. :hugs:

Happy you're eating bfast! Me on the other hand, not so much. Dh made uncured organic hot dogs and sauerkraut an I got so sick. Everything went right thru me and I normally have no issues with sauerkraut. I was up all night and decided to work from home. Still no real symptoms and I am trying to stay positive but reading all these stories of women finding nothing in the sac, no pole, no hb has me very very anxious.

Did the lady get off her cell phone? How rude!

Ali, your floors will be done in no time and you will love it! I'm happy you are on antibiotics..no more sun for you!

HMM.. sounds like the beginning of MS to me!! Either that or there was something wrong with the dogs or sauerkraut. Stop googling all the BAD things, and google all the good things! You may not find many since most people don't post when things are going well, you only read when things go wrong. So don't sweat it! I'm sure all is just fine  I really do think that being positive and keeping a good attitude helps things. The less stressed you are the better it is for baby. :hugs: Just remember that the heartbeat isn't often seen before 6 weeks, and you'll be a few days shy of 6 weeks. Some don't even see it until 7 weeks. So don't be worried if you don't see it yet. I'm sure you are a giant stressball of nerves  I know I will be, but try to stay calm!!

Yep, the antibiotics are helping, and so is the cream, I can't believe I did this to myself. Bad Ali! The flooring guys are on break, and are claiming that there is an additional cost for floor prep, and I'm not impressed. Not the best way for a job to start. Lowe's is supposed to be calling me to tell me what is going on, so far they've just told me that its 10 bags of feather set plus installation. I told her flat out that it is in my contract to have all of this done. So they better figure it out! :ninja: :growlmad:

It is definitely not ms. I ate dinner at 6:30 and 3hrs later I started with stomach cramps and I knew they wouldn't end until I eliminated everything in my system. The sauerkraut is fermented and can clean you out, but I've never had that before. I think what exacerbated it was that I drank some Komboocha. That is also fermented and has live probiotics...probably too much for my system all at once.

I would refer to the contract too...last minute costs that were never discussed previously should be handled sternly and tell them that you will stop payment and work...the people installing are sometimes 3rd parties and don't get paid until the job is complete. When I had doors installed from Home Depot they screwed up every step of the process, wrong doors delivered twice and the guys who installed them wore ripped shirts, jean shorts and left behind their garbage. I complained and the company called me to apologize. Good luck!

We got it all sorted out. The issue is that they allow for 3 bags of this prep stuff to be installed as a normal amount of prep. Mine needs an additional 7 bags to get it level. My floor is a mess, and because of the way we are laying the floor, and the way the floors are boughing, it would be like walking on a spring board. So they have to level the floors out. The builders got away with murder when they built my house, the installer said that there should be a flooring joist every 18in, and he doesn't think there is. So that is a little scary :nope: So their initial cost was $537 for the additional 7 bags, and I asked what the cost was per bag, $30 for the materials and $45 to install! :saywhat: The entire 1000 sq ft of flooring is only $2K, so I told her point blank that this is price gouging to get more money for installation. They brought it down to $325 by basically giving me the materials for free. Do I think it is right? Not really, but I'm between a rock and a hard place. No carpet on my floors and no hardwood either! So at least they brought the cost down. I feel like a struck a decent bargain.

No, guess that isn't MS although sometimes MS is simply reactions to foods you used to eat, that no longer sit well. So it could be MS. Unless it was coming out the other end  Well just take it easy, did you think anymore about getting another BETA or are you just going to stick it out until Friday? You could also POAS, make sure its staying nice and dark. :dust: that you are worrying for nothing and your bean is sticking where it is for the next 8 months

Sounds like a a fair deal for a last minute hidden cost :dohh: I'd still be pissed, but maybe the blame lies with the builder which usually cuts corners in developments. Good for you in negotiating!

And yes, my getting sick was uh, the south route  Now I am left with some serious gas so I'm happy to be home. I decided to go out and buy some hpt's and the test line came up immediately and darker than the reference line which is a first. I am relieved, but not going to really feel ok until I see the scan and or heartbeat. Some women see the heartbeat earlier than 6 weeks and some even hear it as early as 5 weeks 5 days, which is the date of my scan. Fx'd! Dh is coming with me and he is so excited!! I don't think I will fully relax until baby is born, develops normally, graduates college, gets a great job and gets married. Seriously.
