Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Alicatt- My mom had her first panic attack after she had her thyroid removed. For some it is caused by a hormonal imbalance. She had them until she had her levels balanced.

Hooray for finding the letter! I'm so glad you can lift that stress.

Well its May already! That is my question... I wont be able to start until the beginning of May. I did IVF 2 cycles ago... so hmmmm... either I do it in May or June... Just got my bill... um I'm scared of how much this is costing total!

BabyWhisperer - You had 2 great BETA's there is no reason to feel that you are going to get AF. I have heard it is normal to have some cramping and even some spotting in the first weeks. So just try to relax and enjoy the energy you have while you can. Most women say they are exhausted and nauseous in the first trimester, so here is hoping that you have an easy go of it!! If you are really worried you can always call on Monday and request another BETA, see if they'll let you come in. Can't hurt to ask  I know I probably would :haha: I think if I'm successful this time I'm going to need to buy stock in First Response! because I'm literally going to be POAS daily.

Sams - Do what you feel is right in your gut, but if you want my opinion, here it is. When you had your last IVF, they probably used all of your antral follicles up. An egg takes 3 months to mature, starting from before it is an antral follicle until it becomes a mature egg. So the theory is that if you do IVF cycles every 2-3 months you should have your egg reserve back to normal. Plus you are taking herbs and teas and supplements that are meant to improve your antral follicle count. When they do the baseline at the beginning of your cycle they do this count. If you only have 2-3 antral follicles then you will at most only have 2-3 follicles grow. So waiting 2-3 months and continuing on the regmine you are on with your Asian medicine man is probably your best bet. Then do a cycle in say May/Jun/July.

Coy where on earth are you?? :sadangel: We miss you!!! How are you doing? Everything go well yesterday?

AFM Sams, really? Panic attacks are related to hormones? I haven't had one since 2009 so they don't happen often. The good news is that I didn't smoke a cigarette  I managed to get to work too.. YAY.

I did get some resolution on the HOA thing. It turns out that someone wanted to put a fence like mine along the sidewalk and they were told they couldn't. Well those neighbors raised a stink because mine is that way :growlmad: So that is why I got a letter stating that if I couldn't provide documentation on it, that they were going to make me move mine. When I talked to the property manager he basically said that he thought it was ludicrous, but since the other homeowner was making a stink they had to go through the motions. He said it would be up to the board to make the decision and he felt that they wouldn't care. So I went rooting through my file cabinet and I found the approval of my fence! :headspin: It was signed by the HOA at the time (the builder). So I am going to scan and email that to the property manager and politely tell him and the board to STFU (shut the F up) :haha:

So that is all settled now

My mom helped me get 2 of my 4 bedrooms prepped for the hardwoods, and I'd already done 1, so now all that is left is my master bedroom and a few under the bed storage lugs. So I'll do that tomorrow. After we did the moving of stuff, we went out for lunch on the intercoastal for seafood and then had a pedicure. Now we're having a torrential rain fall and I hope my Mom can see her way home.

I'm off shortly to get a few things for our Bunco tonight, and I think I might run to the mall to pick up the clothes I ordered. May as well get that done on my way!! Then I don't have to go out at all tomorrow. I can complete the picking up of my bedroom and get everything prepped for the installers. The issue is that I can't have anything on the floor (no shoes, or clothes hanging low), plus all the books have to be off book shelves and kick nacks have to be put away so they don't get broken. I'd taken over my spare bathroom and am piling everything in there, as opposed to carting it all down stairs. Oh well, I'd say I'm about 60% done.

On the FET front.. nothing new.. I updated my signature with the latest news. Still waiting for the results of the biopsy but I've been told we'll get those this week. AF has been really bad this month, I'm still bleeding and its been 4 days! Like really bleeding. Usually by now it is pretty much gone. I'm also still having cramping and my uterus feels sore. So hopefully that is my uterus shedding properly and getting ready to build a nice receptive lining!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday!

Coy! Glad you made it to the test and from the sounds of it, aced it
I plan on taking it easy starting next week! I've got a lot going on this week but then I'm FREE! We're doing a girls night on Saturday.. Melting Pot, and I'm going to CHILL OUT!!

SAMs.. yes IVF is not cheap! Plus at our age it is rare to get any to freeze, so it's expensive each time. My FS was able to tweak my cycle a bit to improve my embryo quality, so maybe with your eastern herbs and teas you've done the same? knowing I had 4 frozen embryos made me feel better about the second failed IVF. I still have a chance! I don't know what your finances are like, but if you can swing it one more time I would. Your herbs and your past cycle will help them figure out how to improve things this time  As for when to do it? If you are ready now.. then go for it, if you want one more month off then do that. Whatever your gut is feeling!!

AFM.. freaking beat.. long but fun and productive day. I won $15 at bunco :) Going to  sleep in tomorrow and get the few errands and work around the house done. I've been asked to another pool party but I am going to pass! I showed the girls at bunco my burn and the one that is a nurse said that is a 2nd degree burn! :saywhat: From the sun? She said to get some special silver cream or go see a Dr so I don't scar! YIKES! From the sun! :grr: I stopped and got the silver cream and some gauze pads on my way home. I had no idea it was that bad!! :nope:

time for bed now!

Helllooooo ladies! :hi: :flower:

Ali- stop working so hard! You need to chill for a few days, put away yur schedule and just relax with the basic stuff to do  That's what I would do, lol :haha: Glad you got stuffed squared on the fence deal- what a nightmare!

Babywhisperer- K, totally normal, try not to worry! I get that way in early pregnancy too, then feel "normal" in second tri, then on to furious nesting in third :haha: Broke your vacuum? Damn! Come clean my house  I agree with Ali- 2 great beta's  Oh, FYI.....from experience....the symptoms of mc comes weeks after growth has stopped. I firmly do NOT believe what you are experiencing is mc  :hugs:

Sams- Yes, totally possible to get preggo! An egg is an egg is an egg :haha: Go for it! Love the idea of detoxing btw :winkwink:

Chantal
- how are you doing?

AFM
- testing went good. I passed  GETTING there was bitch tho! For starters they gave me the wrong directions, it started pouring rain, my windshield wiper broke :dohh: and I got lost on the freeway :haha: and I had only 7 minutes left to meet my appointment! So, I did NOT exceed the speed limit by 25 mph (I did NOT :haha: ) and I finally made it ... then I ask campus information (test was given on the university campus) how to reach the specific testing hall...the guy told me "Ummm I'm not sure, but I think it's up that way, turn the corner, round the bend and it's one of those broick buildings". Well there were 4 brick building identicle, each with 3 stories, and no elevators...so I had to blast my way running the stairs of each building until I found room 351 that was actually holding the testing. Not bad for 7 minutes  I guess I'm not in half bad shape :smug: lol

Then I did my test and I was in such high gear I blasted through the 90 minute test in 40 minutes :haha: which was great 'cause I needed the extra time to find my way back off campus and out of town  lol! Made it home right on time tho  Got an email that stated I had passed with a good score (part of my grade is based on speed  lol! ) and was being considered further.....

Thanks Coy, you helped ease my mind. Congrats on acing the test. Nothing like some stress before a test to get the adrenalin pumping!!

No I cannot clean your house. I over did it and my back is screaming! Afm went to a friends bday party last night in Soho and she called to tell me beforehand that she is prego and due in Nov. That makes 3 friend due in the same month. I didn't tell her that I was as its way too soon. I think she suspects though esp since I was not drinking and kept yawning at 9:00! I'm still crampy esp after I pee. It's like the contraction of my bladder causes the uterus to ache. Other than that nada. How's everyone's weekend??

BabyWhisperer - to ease your mind do some googling of PG symptoms at 5-6 weeks. You'll see that cramping in very normal! The uterus needs to expand and so it's going to tug and pull as it reshape a itself. Hang in there!! I am positive I'd be feeling as you do, cautious and worried with every cramp! Try to go in for another BETA on Monday to ease your mind. That is what I would do!

AFM.. wondering if I should go to the after hours clinic about my burn? I can't go see my Dr next week since I'm babysitting the hardwood installers. It seems like its hurting more now? I woke up with another stupid headache that is getting worse so I am hoping it will go away. Otherwise I'm hoping to have a quiet day just getting my house prepped for tomorrow!

PS.. a nurse looked at my burn at bunco last night and told me my burn was a second degree burn because its blistering! EEK!

Coy! I'm going to go get my burn looked at as soon as my head stops hurting! UGH!

GL to T on her tests!! I'm sure she'll do well!

I was brought up that you ate what was in front of you or you went to bed hungry. Simple as that! Plus no desert if you didn't eat dinner. That is funny about making them have it for breakfast! LOL! I hated it at the time, and thought my mom was being cruel, but now I'm happy because there are few foods I do not like and I'm also more apt to try new things. So many moms make multiple meals for their family each night, it's crazy! Waste of time, money and I'm not washing all of those dishes and pots! :haha:

AFM.. head is not getting better  I need to get out and go to the urgent care center, and finish prep for tomorrow. Stupid head! Maybe a little nap will help?

Ali I also think you should see a dr for the sunburn. And no more sun. A 2nd degree burn should not get any sun for at least 6mos as the skin is so raw. Hopefully they can give you cream to heal and protect it.

Coy your dd's sound like very strong minded girls. Good luck! My mom used to tell me she wasn't running a restaurant and I had to eat what she cooked. And I always did! So today starts my 5th week, I want to fast fwd to the part where I know all is ok. I hope the scan on Fri is normal. What comes after that scan? Good to know my cramping is normal. Fx'd I don't get ms!

Coy.. no dehydration here! I drink tons of fluids! Pee all the time too. I am pretty sure it's a side effect of the Lupron.. evil stuff. I'll down some water and close my eyes. Then hopefully it will be GONE!

BabyWhisperer.. I think, that if all is well on Friday, then you will graduate to OBGYN and probably won't have another scan for a while! I could be wrong, there might be one more to see heartbeat after this one. Then they'll just say you're good to go and off to regular OBGYN. They call it graduating! Means your pregnancy is normal and you are progressing normally!!!! This scan on Friday should show the sac and hopefully the fetal pole. I think it will be too early for the heartbeat. But I really think you are in a good place right now!

How come I cook healthy for everyone else but when it comes to me I'm tired of cooking so just eat yogurt or protein shake? :growlmad: I wonder if I want an omelot or something? Maybe.....maybe I want somethhing else?

Nah. I'll have some yogurt :laugh2: I feel like something off Burn Notice:haha:

Decided to get my rear out of bed, head still hurts but at this point I have to get moving. Gotta get my errands done and get my burn looked at!

I LOVE burn notice!! Amazing show! Michael is addicted to blueberry yogurt.. so an I LOL! Coy.. protein for breakfast is a good thing!!! I keep telling you to make a big pa. of it for all of you! Use 1 egg per person plus 1 oz of egg whites per person. That way it's healthy for all of you! You can add in veggies and cheese too! If you don't want the added fat of cheese on yours, take your portion out early and then add the cheese  You need calories or you will lose muscle and keep what fat you do have. I promise you it will work!

I am feeling a pulling in my left side. I am cd 21 and 6dpo so im hoping its implantation related. 7 days till testing. I dont have any pregnancy tests in the house so i wont be tempted to test early. Also if I start spotting next weekend like I usually do before A f i wont buy any pg tests and waste more money

Thanks...its now or never and I feel my menses have been the most regular they have been all year. Hoping its my turn...

Aprx 6 DPO here...Trying to ignore pelvic twinges & pings. Luckily I don't have any fresh tests at hand either. Just some old (expired like 2010, IIRC) strip cheapies that I need to throw out when I locate them. I.will.not.use.them!:nope::laugh2:

Promised myself that I won't bother buying an HPT until I'm super late. Maybe I'll actually do some laundry to pass the time. :laundry::hangwashing:
