Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Suziq-I wasnt taking supplements during first ivf other than prenatal and dha. I have been taking them for about a year but only added the maca powder in December. I got a bfp in Feb this year but sadly miscarried that pregnancy March 25th. It wasnt due to the quality of my eggs though. It was due to triploidy which can happen at any age. Two sperm fertilized one egg! My husband and I also went to acupuncture treatments for 2 years. I think that helped alot and I highly recommend it

I am having some serious night sickness tonight. I dont know why they call it morning sickness.:nope: It should just be called pregnancy sickness

Hi Isobel. I am fairly new to all this too. I too never felt old until all of this! it gets frustrating sometimes but I'm tryin not to let that get me down. A lot of us are doing natural things to help with our fertility and it is def working for a lot of women who felt just like you do I'm sure.

Ali: yea I did some more research today and found that it should be ok to take the aspirin, I am going to add that back. I also decided to add Royal Jelly.

never give up: That is so exciting!!!! Gives me so much hope! Can I ask how long did you do all the supps and were you on them prior to your failed IVFs?

Chantal.. sorry for the nighttime sickness!
I usually feel pretty good by the end of the day.

I did another hpt.. just to make sure I'm still pregnant!

Looks to me like the control line is so faint next to the test line! :happydance:

Aww.. Sams, thanks! I sent you a FB friend request today..
I know the weight gain is crappy from IVF, I've just embraced it for now. I am working to eat healthy and not overeat right now. I hope the summer helps you get some of the weight off!

What I don't understand was during the process I didn't gain weight... It happened after it was over.. I gained 17 lbs!!!!!... I think maybe just because I let go...

Thanks for all the info ladies! :flower:

Yay for a normal cycle melly2!

Im on CD8 today, and am going to try the SMEP method this time round, but because DH and I are going away for the weekend with friends we won't really be able to BD tonight like it suggests, so we did last night! Funny story, I was playing candy crush (curse the person who got me hooked) and had to wait 15 minutes for another life (because I suck at it) so I ran into the bedroom and yelled at my hubby to get his pants off "we have 15 minutes to shag before I can keep playing candy crush!!"

His response was to yank his pants off and to say "You are nothing if not charming!"

:haha:

Pmsl snooklepoodle,I often tell my hubby to get his pants of we have a spare 15 mins lol.

I have a dilemma I think today will be cd 1 and meant to get bloods cd 2 and 17 to test for ovulation etc but that falls on Saturday will I be ok to book them for Monday or will that be to late.

My FS always said day 3, but days 2-4 were fine. I think Monday is perfect! That is why there is some leeway, it is inevitable that cd 3 always falls on a Sunday!

It's sweet pea week! I'm 6 weeks today! Happy Friday everyone!

Good morning ladies! I just wanted to say I'm happy I found this thread it's so nice to see so much support! I am so happy for you pregnant ones!!
Chantal: How long before this BFP were you on Coq10?
And Snooklepoodle: I heard the SMEP works really good, but as long as you're DH doesn't have any sperm count issues, I think it's ok to have sex everyday in what I call "baby making week". just try to do it a few days before O, day of O and day after is really good too. It worked for us twice. Of course I;m sure there are those who would disagree (like doctors lol), but just wanted to share that with you.
AFM: I am on day 3 of my cycle just waiting for stupid AF to leave the building so I can gear up for "baby making week"!! I am actually kind of thankful I still have her on day 3. Hopefully it means my body is back to normal after my D&C. For like 4 months it only lasted like 1 day which really had me worried. I was thinking my doc sraped me too much or there was scarring in my uterus. But, she seems back to normal! Thankful for that.

I took CoQ10, Maca Root and Royal Jelly for 2 months before my last IVF cycle, I tripled my embryo count from the first IVF cycle to the second one, and I'm sure it was partially due to the improvement in my eggs from the supplements. In the first cycle I only had 2 embryos to transfer, and on the second one I had 6! I transferred 2 in December and they didn't implant. Then did 4 months of testing and used 2 of the frozen embryos from the December IVF and I'm now 6 weeks! YAY! Turns out that I have some stubborn NK cells that were attacking the embryo and killing it before it could implant :nope: So after treatments to suppress my NK cells I'm now pregnant! Funny thing.. if I weren't single and trying this with donor sperm, I probably wouldn't need intervention from a FS (other than to treat the NK cells)! If I ever want to try for another pregnancy, I may just get treated for NK cells and do it naturally!

Oh, BTW.. I had an awesome dream last night. I went in to the hospital to check out the maternity ward, and while I was there they offered me a peek at my baby. It wasn't an ultrasound I saw, but a video of a baby up on its hands and knees learning to crawl, and she looked just like me (when I was a baby)! Does that mean I'm having a :pink:

Wow, I am just in awe over this Coq10 and it's affects on egg quality. And you girls undergoing IVF are giving us solid proof because you actually KNOW the quality of your embies before and after taking this stuff.
Your dream is funny. Baby making and being pregnant can make you have crazy dreams. I'm sure you'll be having lots more. In my dreams the baby was always a girl too. But, secretly I always wanted a boy.

Hey Ladies! Just popping in again and SOOOOOO excited to see that Ali is preggers!!!!!!!!!!! Are those twins????? Yay!

SO I did my first round of Clomid this month. I had one extremely emotional day but then felt great the rest of the month. So I'm 16 dpo and have been testing with frer daily for about a week. A few have had a faint line but after the test time. Then yesterday I took a frer with FMU and ya know when you pee really hard and a lot and it over saturates the test??? Please tell me I'm not the only one who has done this!! lol...but anyway, the test line did not even trigger so I figured it was a dud. I stuck it in the drawer and did not look at it until this morning. Today it is Totally an unquestionable :bfp:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I took another a few minutes ago and it looks negative.

I really do not know what to think...I will post a pic if I can figure it out:)

Thanks BabyDust!!! I am pretty excited.. only 6 weeks but I haven't had a U/S yet so I don't know how many. Hoping for twins, but we'll see! I have my U/S on Wednesday next week, so you can check back then!

Please post your pictures, we want to see! I'm channeling my inner Grey Eyes when I say this! Seriously though, we can help you see if there is a line. My first few tests were squinters, but they progressively got darker, in fact I posted one last night! It is at 26dpo though, which is why it is so dark! FX'd that you have a BFP :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp:

This is un-doctored. Looks kind of grayish in the pic but believe me it is very much pink

I see it, that is what mine looked like the first day. The next day it was darker, and by the 3-4th day it was clearly seen! Keep testing every day or so. What DPO did you say you were?

Let us know how it all goes!

I heard that a luteal phase defect can be helped with inositol  I just started taking it because my cycles started getting longer and longer and I was scared that my hormone system was too 'aged'. Just thought I'd throw that in!

:hugs: Hope we get our BFP's this year and they stick!
