Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Coy- HIIIIII!!!!!!! Miss our group!!!!!
Babywhisperer- So exciting

Chantal- where are you

I'm starting acupuncture again. I know I was supposed to do it for a couple of months before... but I couldn't drive all that way anymore. I found one close by. Hopefully it helps.

Hey Grey!

I'm sick :( I have a cold or something and feel
miserable

Beyond that things are good. Just biding my time waiting for the fun to begin. Not long now, I start Lupron in 10 days! Then I have my birthday and fly to Canada for thanksgiving, then home and a few days later start stims! Halloween ER is the plan!

miss you!!!

Hello everyone! Im brand new to this, but not new to TTC! Im 40 years old now and have had my HSG and Clomid last year in high hopes of being able to conceive. My fallopian tubes are clear and I DO Ovulate! What is wrong with me??? My hubby has 3 kids from a previous marriage and we have none together. I started Juicing yesterday and started the whole Zumba thing in hopes of being healthier. Any words of wisdom would be GREAT!! Thanks

Babywhisperer- no worries! On birth I am sure you'll do fine. I worried about tears, episiotomies, etc, as well but I never got a tear one! One thing I found helped me TONS was the perennial massage. Awkward I know, but I swear by it!
Hemorrhoids? Never got them, but there can be stress issues iykwim. After birth practice kegels :winkwink: and really focus when you sneeze :laugh2: Poor milk supply? Just feed babes every 2 hours whether its needed or not. That will ensure a good sleep schedule for punkin :winkwink: and loads of milk! I am proud of you choosing bf'ing btw :hugs: Re: C-section- no worries! You will do awesome I am positive!

B]Sams-[/B] yay for acupuncture! Do you enjoy it? Sounds scary, lol

Ali- just wondering, I was thinking yesterday - since you have identified NK as your roadblock have you since considered good ol' IUI?

Thanks Grey! It is a possibility, actually trying naturally could be a possibility if I had a partner. Only issue us time! I'm almost 41, less than 2 weeks away now. I'm just going to go for the IVF and maximize my chances.

Hi ladies. Think I have bad news. First sono after 4 days of stimming and I have only 2 follies, one on each side. They are 14 and 10 mm. I then have two more less than 8. Dont know what to say. A couple of days ago my acupunturist said I should ask to reduce dosage bc Im on a very high dose, but looks like I need it. Acupuncturist said today that the dosage is really bad for my body and I shouldnt do it again. Not happy at all.

Shame on your acupuncturist for telling you to decrease your meds and that the dose was too high! I know they get trained in eastern medicine, but they are not doctors. Having 4 follies after 4 days of stims is fine. More will pop up and likely those 4 will grow nicely. After being on the IVF boards as long as I have, 4 is fine! Just relax, trust in your FS and when you see your acupuncturist again tell him to politely mind his own business! Remind him that you are seeing him to help promote growth and to mitigate stress, and that is what you expect from him!

So stop stressing and tell your follies to grow, think positive!

Alicatt. Thanks. Im goong back tomorrow for another sono. Im starting ganirelex tomorrow. It is a high dosage of drugs. I know that. I slept for 3 hours after getting home this morning. Im so tired on these drugs.

Hey Ali-- am I supposed to stop taking all these supplements while stimming?

Ok ladies... doesn't seem like this is good news. I have one at 15mm. One at 11mm... Nurse said it looks like I only have one good one. 2 others exist, but they are around 10 and she said that my e2 is around 100... so it looks like a possible conversion to iui. I don't understand.

Oh wow, so sorry Sams. I think that converting to an IUI sounds like a good plan. I think I would question the protocol you were on, it sounds to me like you need to be on the lupron flare protocol (this is for poor responders) and you get way better results with it. I'm on the long lupron protocol, which is used to get all the follicles to be on the same schedule. Sounds to me like if the IUI isn't successful that you might want to have a second opinion.

AFM.. Still super sick, my I am coughing up so much crud, its amazing! So I've basically stayed in bed all weekend. If nothing else I'm well rested! I did however go through my donor website and I picked 3 donors that look promising. Hopefully I'll get some feedback from my Mom and other friends and make a decision! I start lupron a week tomorrow! YAY! Then start stims on Oct 18th. In between I'll be going to Canada for thanksgiving, and I'll need to have my intralipid transfusion to combat the NK cells. Next weekend I'm going out with friends to celebrate my birthday, its a week from Tuesday, and then I'll officially be 41! :nope: I'm hoping and praying that my baseline US that I have next Monday is good and we see plenty of follies.

Alicatt- Hope you feel better!!!!! So exciting for you.. Can't wait.
My doctor is going to do the sono himself tomorrow... Hopefully, much ado about nothing. I bet he's going to try and save the 3 that are growing. My E2 levels though are low.. I'm wondering if its all the figs I've been eating off my tree. I know I sound silly... Well I'll update you tomorrow. Get rest!

Sending you plenty of :dust:

A little silver lining for you to think about. I had 1 dominant follie and got prego with my first IUI. I do agree that if this doesn't work you should take your records and how you have been responding on different meds and dosages and get another opinion.....and please consider Cornell. Dr Spandorfer is the best and got a friend prego after 7 yrs of trying different types of protocols. I am so happy I didn't continue with North Shore Reproductive Group, I had immediate confidence in Cornell and still do.

Rest up and think positive babe. Sending you good vibes!

Afm, well had the GD test Friday and man did I sugar crash afterwards. I find out the results this week. They ended up doing a sono which we were told next one would be 32 weeks so dh didn't come with me. I felt bad he missed a sono, he's been there for all of them. I know they overestimate baby's weight from the sono, but they approximate him to be 3.3lbs and in the 89th percentile. Can I renew my fear of tears and c section????? Omg he's so big and I have 80 days left to go! Help!

Babywhisperer- Thanks so much! You made me feel better! Well the doc did the sono today and he is going to monitor and hope that the rest of them catch up. He's going to try and retrieve 5. I have one at 17mm and the rest around 10mm. So let's see. I see him tomorrow and he will let me know how we are progressing. I'm with you, if it doesn't work. I'll take my package to Cornell. Do you live in the city?

So excited for you...but yeah I would be terrified of tears and a C-section!

Good vibes your way!

Crossing fingers the others catch up. I don't live in the city, I live in Manhasset, but work in the city. Now try this exercise, close your eyes and while making circular motions with your fingertips around your ovaries while lightly touching your skin, visualize the follies growing like a blooming flower and do this whenever you can. Have faith girl.

You can also use a heating pad on the side where you have the smaller follicles. It helps them grow! So does increasing blood flow, so maybe a quick walk around the block? Grow follies grow!

Babywhisperer- Thanks so much!:flower:

Alicatt- I went for my walk this am. will go again! and thanks for the tip!!!! Let you know tomorrow!

Babydust for everyone!
