Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Wow, Georgia, awesome clip! And such a great cause, I am glad you were able to do this! I bet you were excited--did you get nervous? Years ago I worled for several tv stations as a floor director and photographer- it's awesome fun but a lot of stress too!

I know...when I mc'd back in November I wlaked into the doc office and there was a teeange girl with the most adorable newborn girl laying on her chest. The teens mom sat nearby. Finally the teenager picked up the baby and literally tossed it at her mother and snarled "I am so sick of this sh&*@! and walked out. Pretty sad, huh? It always seems like an imbalance in the world when there are so many trying so hard and others- getting it and not even caring. That bothers me too.

Today- I am trying to decide what to do  I have an assignment to finish writing...maybe work on my dd's room some more  I have been feeling tired lately, not sure why?

Glad to have you ladies to talk to as well! It helps to rant ocassionally or just voice an opinion w/o being judged for it :hugs:

Grey Eyes, you put that so well. My husband and I don't ever want to question what the Lord has in store, but just recently our local paper has been filled with stories of babies and toddlers being beaten to death by their parents. There was one story about a couple doing Meth and their tiny twins roaming the streets unsupervised.

https://chronicle.augusta.com/news/...rrested-after-toddlers-wandering-unsupervised

My DH and I can't understand why we can't seem to have our own babies when we would love them and treasure them so very much. It is a hollow feeling.

Each day, I watch pregnant women come and go at the Library on the college campus where I work. I think about how I probably wouldn't be able to stop gently rubbing my stomach and talking incessantly to my little one. I am amazed how cavilerely they take being granted giving the miracle of life.

Makes you wonder when you see stuff like that.. here we are desperate for a baby, and those that have them take them for granted.. maybe she was smart and put it up for adoption? One can only hope!

Grey Eyes,

Thank you! I was nervous. I had danced in recitals growing up and those were taped, but I had never appeared on camera like that before. (My Bachelors is in Public Relations and Advertising.) Funny thing is, since so many people have graciously commented over the years on my voice, I have really wanted to do voice-overs.

My voice did waiver once, but what made me the most nervous was the reporter's mike had already cut off once on him at the beginning. He said that he just does that sometimes. Also, I have a soft voice and being outside with some breeze going, I wasn't sure how well my voice was going to be heard. :dohh:

Ladies,

I have a question I'm hoping you could please help me decide on the correct answer.

I've read that if you start spotting at night, you should count the next day when your full flow starts, as day one of your period. If you begin spotting early in the day and continue to spot all that day, you count it as the first day of your period.

If I followed a 28 day cycle, I would start on May 18th. That day, toward the middle of the afternoon, I slowly started to see slight brown on the bathroom tissue as I wiped. I never saw anything on my panties though.

The next day, May 19th, I was ready with a pad on. Finally, later that afternoon, I saw some "burgundy" colored blood on my pad. Maybe about at least two Dixie cup fulls - not much. I did less the rest of the day and it was dark brown blood. :nope:

Sunday and today have been the same - not much at all and dark brown.

What day do you think I started? Would you say I'm on a 28 day cycle or a 29 day cycle this month?

I appreciate all your help and advice!

The Dr's have always told me to count the day that you first had any measurable flow as Day 1. So if you only had a little spotting, then it doesn't count.

I think we are suposed to measure by the first day we have a flow- supposedly spotting doesn't count  Funny though- I always counted spotting  O btw, it sounds like several days of old blood- have you talked to your doc about that?

He-hee! Yep, that's what I'm going to go with!! Lol! Your BFP sure is taking it's time. Doesn't it know that we are all out here waiting on it? How inconsiderate that BFP is!! Lol! You have all the signs!! It needs to make itself known asap!! :)

Me on the other hand, I am 8DPO and the only signs I have are I am incredibly sleepy still...probably from my lack of enthusiasm for my current job...and I am so gassy that I pray no one needs to come have a meeting in my office!! I'm not ...bbs dont hurt... But, we shall see...

I know! How inconsiderate for my BFP to be so shy! :haha: It needs to show itself before I go completely crazy  I sure hope it comes soon, that is for sure. Then I can at least relax and know why my body is acting so strangely. BFP.. where are you?

You are 5 days behind me, I didn't have many symptoms at that time either. Just cramping I think. It wasn't until 9 DPO that I got the implantation bleeding, or at least what I suspect to be implantation bleeding. So don't count yourself out yet! At this rate you might get a BFP before I do!:haha::haha:

Hello there. I spot for about 5 days each month before full flow starts. It's brown colored, but only in small quantities. I believe mine is considered a luteal phase defect. Your spotting, however, seems normal.

The reason I mention this is that I've been told by multiple docs that day 1 is the first day of full flow. You should not count the days of spotting.

Best of luck!

Well ladies, the day is almost over and my deadline for assignment is fast approaching :coffee: Guess I better get busy :haha: I tended the garden...ate some cereal... I went on a long walk with the girls...ate some ice cream...went shopping...ate some cottage cheese. Hmmm. The lesson here is -- (I am pretty sure)-- what shall I eat next? :haha:

Hope the day went well for you all! Stay positive!

Marathongirl- you got about 6 days or so until Ov day, right? You normally ovulate like CD15 if I remember right.... I'm gonna go check your chart :haha:

Today I told dh my tummy felt like it was going to pop and he said "well, yeah, you're growing fast..." then he went on "I mean you're like 2-3 months, right?" I stared at him. "Honey, I am in the 5th month. In another week or so we start the 6th month." His jaw dropped.:saywhat: Lol, it was so funny to see. Now I bet he's gonna start panicking :haha: and preparing lol! Here we women stress every minute away, calculating, planning, charting, diagraming, discussing, diagnosing...and the guys :nope: they just wait around for the baby to pop out, lol!

I actually used the Guaifenesin Tablets. They are the same thing as Mucinex but in pill form because I hate the taste of the liquid :haha: I only used it once as I got prego that cycle :) I found a link to a site that discusses it in some detail:

https://www.in-gender.com/Shop/Robitussin_Fertility.aspx

Check it out! From the sounds of it you may have a very simple problem :) and that's actually very good news! Have you tried to bypass cm buy maybe using a syringe to insert the :spermy: instead? Has your doctor maybe mentioned IUI? There's a lady on this thread (Philomena) who is currently prego using the IUI method :happydance: Those are just a couple methods to combat no cm or hostile cm (thick, etc).

What methods have you tried so far? Are you using opk's for catching ovulation day or charting you basal body temperature at all? I think I used it all :haha: just to be sure :)

My test was not positive this morning, 11DPO :(

And I have cramping that feels like menstrual cramps.
