Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

My test was not positive this morning, 11DPO :(

And I have cramping that feels like menstrual cramps.

You never know until :witch: arrives, but I understand the stress you are going through. If she shows up this time you'll have another chance when you Ov in a few days  How's your temp?

Thanks, Grey Eyes.

Regarding my temp, I have a question. I go to sleep around 11pm. Every night, I've been waking up at ~3 am (likely because I'm excited about the TWW) and then I go back to sleep until 7am. I temp both times and sometimes the results are very different. This is what happened the night of my apparent implantation dip on 7DPO (97.1 at 3am and 97.9 at 7am - I chose to chart the first).

This morning, I was 97.9 at 3am and 98.8 at 7am. Which do I use? I've been charting an average most days, when they only differ slightly, but today's temps are very different.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I am in the same boat as you...except I am 9DPO and I have not tested yet but I have menstrual-type cramps and a little bit of spotting.
Feeling pretty sad this morning...I'm trying to keep my faith and remember that God is the one in control of this, not me. But sometimes it's hard to do...

On a brighter note...Ali! How are you today?

How about you Coy? How is that tummy of yours doing? :)

At 9DPO, spotting could be implantation bleeding. Do you normally spot before AF? If not, it could be a good sign. FXd for you!

Thanks FirstTry...I don't normally spot. But the mild camps are what bother me. They feel like regular AF cramps...

Since I am such a sytrong believer in God, I believe He might delay me getting PG a bit because I am in the process of interviewing for a new job that I really want. It would be a little messed up for me to get a new job and take maternity leave 9 months later...
But I am keeping my FX'd anyway. :)

Thanks again...I hope I don't stay sad ALL day...

Good morning, Ladies!

It's good to see so many new faces on here! I know the journey can be frustrating and it's always comforting to know that there are others who have gone through what you are going through. We tried for a long time to get pregnant and after going through all the tests and analysis and poking and prodding, we were told we had "unexplained infertility". How frustrating! I am 40 right now, and so we decided not to wait any longer than we had to and jumped into IUI straight away as we felt we'd been trying the 'natural' way for long enough!
Lucky for us, we got pregnant on the first cycle and I'm almost 8 weeks now.
I guess I just want you ladies to know that everyone on this forum understands the waiting, the testing, the insecurities, the worries, the deep desire we each have for wanting a baby and as much as we can be, we are here for you each step of the way. Any advice or experience I can offer is all yours for the taking, because I know for me, information was what kept me sane at the end of the day!
Loads and Loads of Baby Dust to you all!!!

AFM- The morning sickness is starting to abate! *yay* but still tired lots and sleeping in strange patterns.... at least DH is doing his own research and leaves me alone to sleep most of the time.... 'oh, the website said that you might sleep as much as 14 hours a day now- so you should know that all this sleeping is normal'..... to which I just chuckle and say to him 'I never said it wasn't NORMAL!'..... I think he was getting worried! So cute!
The tired I can handle now that the nausea is going away! yippee!! Sometimes though, the tired and the nausea and the sore breasts are what remind me that I'm not dreaming all this up! Sometimes I still can't believe that I'm growing a little bean and that our dream is on its way to coming true! I have to admit to POAS every so often just to see that the line is still there, that it shows up quicker than before and stronger than before.... Crazy? maybe, but it keeps me sane! *grin*

Happy Tuesday, Ladies!

Grey Eyes, Marathongirl, GeorgiaBelle?? how are you guys doing?
jm1355, FirstTry, Alicat, TiaTammy, how are you guys too??

I think it's too early in your cycle to draw any conclusions. Good luck with the job!

I do normally spot, starting about 5 days before AF, so that would be 10DPO. While I really don't have many pg symptoms worth noting and my tests have been negative, the best thing I have going for me now is that my normal spotting has not started yet and I'm 11DPO.

Morning Ladies!!!

Jess.. I had spotting at 9DPO too! That is what I thought was my implantation bleeding. Maybe yours is too? I hope!! FX'd!!

Coy.. I loved your DH story.. thinking you were 2-3 months along :haha: typical guy!! Too funny :) Also interesting info on mucinex, thanks!

It appears that I am in some sort of limbo, a black hole where BFP's are not to be found. AF can't seem to find me either, so I sit and wait and drive myself :wacko:. Good news is, my cervix is high, temps are high, and I found lots of creamy CM when I went in search of my cervix (I say that I had to go in search because it was so high a few days ago I couldn't reach it at all)!! In reality this morning I was searching for pink, but there was none to be found (good news). I just don't understand where AF is or why I haven't had a BFP? Its 14DPO, 5 days after I implanted (if that was what it was on 9DPO), where oh where is my BFP or AF? All I want to do is the :happydance::happydance:, please God let me have a BFP!!!

Best of luck.. FX'd!! :dust:

Marathongirl- you got about 6 days or so until Ov day, right? You normally ovulate like CD15 if I remember right.... I'm gonna go check your chart :haha:

Today I told dh my tummy felt like it was going to pop and he said "well, yeah, you're growing fast..." then he went on "I mean you're like 2-3 months, right?" I stared at him. "Honey, I am in the 5th month. In another week or so we start the 6th month." His jaw dropped.:saywhat: Lol, it was so funny to see. Now I bet he's gonna start panicking :haha: and preparing lol! Here we women stress every minute away, calculating, planning, charting, diagraming, discussing, diagnosing...and the guys :nope: they just wait around for the baby to pop out, lol!

congrads on your little bunddle of joy, I have a question I believe I saw in 1 of your posts you used Musinex for cm what brand? and how much? and how oftened, please help been trying to concieve now for 13 months all is well with hubby tests with me seem to great ,but they do believe it may be a cervical fluid factor, Please some advice would be greatly appreacited. Tia tammy

I actually used the Guaifenesin Tablets. They are the same thing as Mucinex but in pill form because I hate the taste of the liquid :haha: I only used it once as I got prego that cycle :) I found a link to a site that discusses it in some detail:

https://www.in-gender.com/Shop/Robitussin_Fertility.aspx

Check it out! From the sounds of it you may have a very simple problem :) and that's actually very good news! Have you tried to bypass cm buy maybe using a syringe to insert the :spermy: instead? Has your doctor maybe mentioned IUI? There's a lady on this thread (Philomena) who is currently prego using the IUI method :happydance: Those are just a couple methods to combat no cm or hostile cm (thick, etc).

What methods have you tried so far? Are you using opk's for catching ovulation day or charting you basal body temperature at all? I think I used it all :haha: just to be sure :)

Hi sweetie thankyou sooo much for getting back with me, I have done BBT charting, OPKs, Preseed, sortsups, Reg liguid Robitussin, On MACA take 1000 mg a day, plus prenatals,Now taking musinex Tablets the only ingrieients is the G word LOL. bedding before and after the BIG O. legs up, and dont get get up for at least 30 min. All test have come back good on hubby, and they did a fsh on me which is normal hormones are good. the doc. is talking to have the tubes checked to make sure they are still opened, and poss. IUI. I am a nervious reck soooo csared that now I will be 41 that my eggs will not mature as they should. Wanting this little bunddle od joy is all I think about. HUGS HUGS FRIENDS

Best of luck TiaTammy - I will be heading in that direction myself (the FEM test to check my tubes and IUI). This month was my attempt on my own, and next month we do the testing, followed by IUI. I'm officially late and have lots of good symptoms.. praying that it works. However if it doesn't I will be doing the same things you are. Just wanted to say GOOD LUCK, and I hope you are successful :)

alicatt thank you for the luck I need it at my age I will be 41 June 27th, sooo I know whta you mean. I am not sure when doc. is going to start this IUI, I do know it will be soon, Hubby just got a ultr sound yesterday and it was normal, and that was the last test he had to get done, sooo as soon as the doc. gets those results, I am sure the test for my tubes are next, and should know when that will be in a day or two, I am soo scared though, I dont have time for things to go wrong, and for medicine to take effect if that turns out to be my route,Just really stressed right now. TiaTammy:
When I last saw the fertility specialist, he said to call him when AF arrived and he would schedule the FEM test (test for blocked tubes) for 5-10 days after that. They do it at that point in your cycle so as not to flush out any fertilized eggs I think.
So now I'm waiting for a BFP or AF to arrive so I can move forward with either. ALAS, neither has happened, which is super annoying.. AHHHH I'm 14 DPO too.

Best of luck, and keep us posted!!

It looks to me like your temps are on the rise- I was at 97.9 a week before bfp then at bfp was at 98.1. So your temps look awesome! To answer your question- the 4 hours of sleep between 3 and 7 is sufficient so I would keep the higher temp of 7 a.m....if I am right you usually post your 7ish temps, right? :)

Tiatammy...

My name is Jessica (Jess) and I turned 40 in February. I am so ready for a little one!! And I totally understand what you mean by you don't have time to wait for medication to take effect. My DH wont even go to the FS with me. But I'm hoping that after a few more months of trying he will change his mind.

I pray for all the best for you!!! :)

TiaTammy- don't get scared or disocuraged! Phil (Philomena) posted on here today ... she is 40 and got prego first attempt with IUI...very similar story to yours, nothing 'wrong' with either her or dh so unexplained--but she's about 8 weeks prego now :happydance: She could fill you in more on the process of IUI  And my doc tells me at 36-40 as long as your healthy you should still have healthy eggs!

This is going to sound very crazy but i don't even know what IUI is...I guess I better do some research just in case that is something I might have to do...
