Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Hi All,

Great news at the FS!! :happydance::happydance:

My blood tests (hormone levels) are all awesome, and where they should be. He even said my egg reserve is excellent! WOW!

We found my right ovary, and it has a follicle of 16mm on it and my left ovary has a follicle of 13mm on it (with a slightly smaller one too). Since my right tube is blocked we need the left one to get bigger!! He said it was early only CD 12, so that is good, we have time to get it bigger. Especially since I don't usually ovulate until day 16-17. So I will be using a hot water bottle and keeping my legs in the air the next few nights (apparently warmth and blood flow make follicles get bigger). So why not give it a try?

Coy- so glad you are heading back tomorrow for another ultrasound, I hope your little one shows you their parts ;) :haha:

AWESOME news Ali! You go girl! I like when you use words like "good", "excellent", and "wow!" ! :haha: Perfect news, couldn't get any better than that. Looks like you are headed for an awesome go for IUI  So...another 4-5 days? Will you be using opk's?

Ali!! That is fantastic news!!!:happydance: How awesome would it be if we got our BFPs at the same time?!?!? I'm excited for us! So, I am sending :dust: and prayers your way!

I am so relieved to hear that things look good, and that we are still on track for this month, let me tell you I was a nervous wreck heading into my appt with Dr. Denker! I told him so, and he said that these results are great, and that there is no reason to be stressed, now we just need to wait for the follicles to mature, WHEW!! Definitely doing the happy dance :happydance::happydance:

It would be great if we both got our BFPs together!!!

Ali,

Congratulations on all your good news! :happydance: I often think about you and how you're doing. :hugs:

I was waiting to post until I saw our RE on Wednesday morning, but I had to vent a little beforehand. It can't bode well when the office calls to confirm your appointment and tells you it is at 9:00 am yet when I called to reschedule my appointment from June 8th, the lady gave me June 6th at 8:50 am. I read it back to her and twice more before we hung up confirmed that it was June 6th at 8:50 am. When I just called to confirm, the girl I talked to was a little huffy about it. "Well, I have you down for 9:00 in my book, but if you want to come at 8:50 you can."

At least the day is correct and it's only 10 minutes later, but his front end staff need an attitude adjustment. He goes through staff like tissue at times.

I'm nervous enough about my appointment already. I pray I can get him to schedule the ultrasound he talked about back in December. Again, he is a wonderful doctor but once he makes his mind up about something, he only wants to go in that direction and right now, I believe he is only interested in doing IUI for us. It will be a while longer before we can afford the procedure, so can't we please keep trying naturally and be given every opportunity to succeed?

Sorry, ladies, I'm frustrated. :hissy:

AWW.. GeorgiaBelle I'm sorry that he is so frustrating, and his office staff so unfriendly. That doesn't make for a good combination. My guy was much nicer to me today. Last week he was mean and I almost cried, but this week he was much nicer. His staff is really nice too, and that helps. I think they often think they are 'God-like' and often talk down to me. That really annoys me. I'm sure he is just trying to get you the best possible plan, and that may mean doing the IUI. I am sorry I can't remember your situation (terrible memory). What are you currently trying? Maybe we can help suggest other options?

Wishing you :dust:, and thanks for thinking of me. Right now I'm just praying for some further development of the 2 follicles on my left ovary! :happydance:

GeorgiaBelle-

I hear ya! Doctors staff generally needs tuning up and I'm just the gal to do it :smug: lol...On eof my doctors assistants is married with children but happens to have a huge crush on my dh--therefore she is very catty to me e.g., "Oooo my- don't you just look sunburnt? How unnattractive..." Then when I step on the weight scale (almost six months prego!!) she gasps, fans her face, and says sympathetically "O goodness...well...not too bad. Try not to worry about it." I'm 132 for crying out loud :haha: Then she cuts this coquettish look to my dh and sways out of the room smiling. What a B. As in "bee-otch" Doesn't bother me though but she def needs an adjustment

Hope you get you U/S soon- is it for ovary check?

Ali- how are you feeling today besides positive, chipper, and awesome? :haha: I am so glad you can de-stress a bit! Phew it hard isn't it? I got my fx'd for you:hugs:

Coy - I'm feeling pretty good today. I am only on CD12 so I have a ways to go before anything else happens. I am doing my temping and testing with OPKs but only just to make sure I don't miss the big O! I think I had a yeast infection from the procedure last week, which was really annoying but I took care of that this weekend. Now I'm just playing the waiting game, come on follicles, grow!!! I must say, knowing that my hormones are good, and my follicles are growing, and that my right ovary has been found has made me feel a lot better!!! I don't think I realized how stressed I actually was until I relaxed this afternoon:haha:

Hi ladies sorry I missed everyone today, ali great news good luck sweet heart. sending lots of luck to all of you. was a bit under the weather today, still bleeding, not sure what is going on grrrr. Hi all,

Sending loads and loads of :dust: and prayers that we have a great rest of the week and that we hear more good news soon.

Tiatammy im so sorry you having a bad day, i hope you hear only good news and that all your fears will be gone.

being 37 and ttc for 14years not fun but today is an ok day, although in all honesty its still early here in SA so we shall see how the day goes :coffee:

Thinking and praying for all my strong ass sisters out there

Where is everybody? :nope: I got nobody to chat with...:sad2:....

AWW.. it was late last night, I was in bed! HEHE.

So does anyone know how to interpret the following results?

Yesterday I was CD12, and had an ultrasound to see the progress of my follicles. They found 3, 2 on the left and one on the right. The one on the right was 16mm the ones on the left were 13mm and 10mm. Since the one on the right is bigger does that mean it will likely be the ONLY follicle to release, or could the others grow and release an egg too? Don't forget I was on clomid. Since I don't usually ovulate until CD17, we still have 5 days for the follicles to get bigger.

Good morning ladies!! How is everyone?

Ali...what are you up to?

Coy, you were up late last night...well, at least for me and Ali you were! Lol!

TiaTammy...how are you? You had a bad day yesterday...I'm so sorry. Is it any better today? I certainly hope so...:hugs:

AFM> well, I am at work (Booo!) But still feeling hopeful about this month. I am going to try the Mucinex and Primrose oil to help with my CM. I am not sure if that is an issue, but I don't think it will hurt either. Any opinions on that?

Hey Jess! Morning!

I'm at work too, :growlmad: BLAH. It is cloudy and grey here, which always makes me sleepy. I'm really bloated this morning, and I'm feel like my ovaries are huge. I guess this is to be expected when you are taking clomid.

I just want to understand whether my follicles are as they should be or not. I am worried that the ones on the left will not develop any further and we won't be able to move forward this month :(

TiaTammy - are you doing better today? I hope so too! :hugs:

Coy - good morning to you! Hope all is well in your world, and I can't wait to hear how the ultrasound goes!!

Jess - I don't think that using mucinex and primrose oil will hurt, and who knows, maybe it will give you the boost you need :)

Hello ladies,

I've been away for AF, but will be back soon when the TWW craziness begins!

Alicatt - I'm excited to hear about your IUI journey. I plan to do the same too, if this month doesn't give me a BFP. Can you tell me how many follicles the doctor wants you to have? Three seems like plenty to me.

Thank you!

Ali...we worry too much, don't we? Let's just accept that everything with your ovaries is going to be super fine!

I didn't know clomid made you bloated. I wanted to take clomid with hopes of conceiving twins (getting it out of the way in one pregnancy) but I don't think my FS will give it to me. :( I saw a website that allows you to order it online without a prescription, but I am not a doctor. Oh well, I guess I can just do it one at a time.

I know our cycle is close together. I don't feel bloated at all. This is my "thin" week. No water retention, stomach is flat as a pancake. My trainer asked me this morning about competing this fall at Nationals. I told him we could train as if I were going to compete and decide as time gets closer. He doesn't know I am TTC. :haha: He would have a fit!! He wants me to win at nationals in November...

Hi FirstTry,

Yes, 3 is good, what I'm wondering is whether the 2 on the left will mature or not? My right tube is blocked and the biggest follicle is on my right ovary. So I am worried that the 2 on the left will not mature, and we'll have to wait until my next available cycle which is in September! (I'm going out of the country in July/Aug). I'll definitely keep you posted! I guess I just don't know how all of the maturation works on your follicles when you use clomid. Hopefully they all mature!!

Best of luck to you!!! What CD are you on?

Ali...are you going to still chat with us while you are out of the country? I don't think I can make it two months without talking to you!!!! :nope::hugs:

Yep! I'm a worry wart! I had no idea how stressed I was yesterday about my results until I got the good news, and suddenly relaxed! I was like WOW! I was really stressed out. :haha:
I might be bloated because of the high salt Chinese food I had last night, it usually makes me bloated. I could also be bloated because I have extra follicles on my ovaries, and they are growing :) That wouldn't be too bad! My ovaries do feel full, I can often feel them, around ovulation. I just want to understand how follicles develop when on clomid, I understand how they develop naturally.

As for you..

I have heard that some Doctors will prescribe it for you regardless of your need. I had a friend that did it because they didn't want to wait to get pregnant. So who knows? Maybe they will? Or you could shop around for a different Doctor? There are risks associated with it, so that is something that you will want to review.
WOW, you must be in excellent shape! What sport are you trying to compete in? Congrats! That sounds like fun!

Ali...are you going to still chat with us while you are out of the country? I don't think I can make it two months without talking to you!!!! :nope::hugs:

For sure! I'll be in Canada (it is out of the country, but barely)! I'll be working remotely, so not much will change. The only thing is that while I'm there I won't be trying to get pregnant. I will still chart and test, so that I know when I ovulate, and so on. Of course there is always the hope that I'm already pregnant!!! That would be awesome :):hugs:

I'm on CD 10. You can see my chart in my signature, I think.
