Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

AFM- Ah, today seems nice so far. I am determined :) Baby has been kicking up a storm, I can feel it on the outside now with my hands pressed, so dh should be able to feel it soon! Sunny but not too hot yet. There have been some really low points to my day though...like waking up and my only motivation to getting out of bed was my doctors words ringing in my ears "one cup of coffee a day is certainly okay for you and won't hurt anything". So I eagerly rolled out, took my shower (bathroom time takes in at least 3 interruptions from children btw, so showering takes longer than it should  lol) and slammed out a healthy breakfast for the girls only to discover .... dh and I were totally out of coffee :sad1: So I trudged my way to the store to buy some. Ah, I am better now though despite the gushing nose-bleed  ....I got a small cup of coffee (and I do mean small, probably 5-6 oz...generally un-pregnant coffee mugs are my favorite 20 ounces :cloud9:) and some toast. So now I am ready for the rest of my day :trouble:. I combatted the girls for an hour on maintaining their clean room. Teagen lost her shoe  omg, kids and shoes! Anyway I told her she couldn't play outside w/o her other shoe and she scowls at me and barks "what's the BIG DEAL about one little shoe??!" LOL! I must be a really mean mom...and way tooooo strict

Btw I am STARVING now! I realized it is already 2 p.m. my time and I only had the piece of toast this morning. Babes must be yanking on that umbilical cord in there saying "Give me fooood!" So now I must caution myself and go eat something very nutritious and healthy....If I can't think of anything I'll just have ice cream :haha:

Ali- sounds like you're getting your bases covered as far as bd timing...and ewcm always feels like such an accomplishment doesn't it?! I always felt that way anyhow, like YES! FINALLY! lol...

Coy...I think this was for me...noy Ali! :haha:

Yep! I think so too! Although I might be doing some BD :sex: myself, it just won't be as effective!:haha:

OMG! Teagen? That is the name I was considering if I had a girl! It is so unusual, but yet really cute! :winkwink: Irish I believe. :winkwink:

I think you should have some yummy ice cream too! Calcium, protein and yummy!!!

Yes, it is an Irish name...I speak some Gaelic and it means "beautiful" :)

Where are all my bnb buddies ? :sad1: I am feeling humung-oid at the moment and need someone to tell me I am a willow  Lol, That's what my dh would always say...about when I felt 12 months pregnant I would get depressed about my huge belly, thighs, etc, and say (why oh why do we women ask this??) "Do I look fat to you??" :haha: and dh - without even looking at me - would dutifully mumble "you're a willow honey" lol! :smug:

Funny, when I am prego I always feel "expanded" in the evenings  I don't eat more in the evening so I am thinking it must have something to do with just being tired and maybe the gravitational pull or something.........

Just got back from a walk with the girls...we couldn't go yesterday because the city uses this stupid pesticide...they load huge tanks of it onto the back of a flat bed truck and slowly drive around town spraying this pesticide mist... It is melathion, here's what I found out about it:

"absorption or ingestion into the human body readily results in its metabolism to malaoxon, which is substantially more toxic.[ Malathion breaks down into Malaoxon. In studies of the effects of long-term exposure to oral ingestion of malaoxon in rats, malaoxon has been shown to be 61 times more toxic than malathion . Acute exposure to extremely high levels of malathion will cause body-wide symptoms whose intensity will be dependent on the severity of exposure. Possible symptoms include skin and eye irritation, cramps, nausea, diarrhea, excessive sweating, seizures and even death. "

This stuff causes cancerous tumors in rats and yet here my city is spraying it in the air I breath! It's pretty horrible, we never go out or let the kids out durig these times and currently fighting the city because of it...all of our surrounding communities have banned its use. Lucky us, huh? :growlmad:

Be happy if you're gaining weight. That's a good thing when you're pg. Smile :) We're all looking forward to being in your position!

HEHE:haha: Yep we are all hoping to be in your position. Still I'm sure it is daunting. Me being a little on the chunky side to begin with, is hoping that I don't gain too much weight.

That sounds horrible! They spray here for mosquitos I think, but they do it overnight. I'm not sure what they use to be honest. Definitely a good idea to stay indoors until the spraying is complete!

Morning All!

I was just looking at FirstTry's chart, and it looks like we are at the same point!! I just got a spike this morning showing that I either ovulated yesterday or will do today. That is expected because of the HCG shot.

I'm not really sure when I ovulated, if I have. Usually I have way more symptoms, and I think the Clomid/HCG shot is hiding my normal symptoms. Normally I get a nice EWCM for 2-3 days, and the OPK is positive for 2 days, then I get ovulation pain in my ovary. This month, the OPK has been positive but only since the HCG shot, and I haven't had any EWCM at all! I hear that this is a side effect of the Clomid (good thing I'm not trying to conceive naturally)!:haha:

However, with all of that said, I did feel ovulation pain on both sides around 11pm last night. But my OPK is still positive? Maybe that is just the lingering HCG?

So I used an IC HPT just to see if there was still HCG in my system, and yep I got a positive! At least I know the following now: the ICs work, and my body does excrete HCG in urine! LOL!:haha: That is the first time I have ever had a positive HPT. Too bad it wasn't real!

Off in a few minutes to have IUI number 2, but this time John will be staying home. He wanted to sleep in. I don't blame him, he's been working really hard lately, and he is painting the bedroom right now, so he'll be working on that once he wakes. We settled on a really soft shade of blue, that matches my duvet, and then an accent of darker blue for the archway into the master bath. Can't wait until it is complete, I slept in the spare bedroom last night (the one that will become the nursery if God permits), and it was cramped in the Queen with the dogs and all. Will be happy when my bedroom is back to normal, and my huge King bed, and the paint smell is gone!

Ali: Glad to hear we're on the same schedule. I'm hoping to sleep a bit more, so I can test my BBT again to confirm the rise; plus, I've only slept 4 hours so far. I'll be happy if I'm past O b/c, honestly, I'm tired of BDing right now :/

Good luck this morning. We are all rooting for you :)

P.S. - Please send John to my house; DH is not handy at all and the house needs work!

HEHE! Sick of BD! I can understand that! Sometimes it gets kind of mechanical when TTC. Any other signs of the O besides the temp?
I checked in to do the IUI but they told me to come back at 9:15 so now I'm hanging out waiting! Found a good breakfast place.. yum!

John is pretty handy! It certainly helps!!

Yes, I had extreme nausea yesterday. It's the funniest thing; since we started TTC, I have had nausea during ovulation every month. That never happened before. This may sound crazy, but could it be a reaction to the sperm? Could sperm be making me produce more LH or estrogen (I read that those hormones cause nausea during ovulation)???

FirstTry - I'm not sure? HCG definitely causes nausea, that is what causes morning sickness, but you wouldn't have that until implantation, it doesn't surprise me that other hormones cause nausea.

Day 2 IUI is complete! The Dr seemed to be quite happy with the timing of the IUIs and my ovulation at 11pm last night. This sample had 45M sperm! That seems like a lot considering that this is washed sperm. Only the best and brightest little guys. Hopefully they find the egg!
I am going to go order my Crinone later this afternoon, as I'm supposed to start that tomorrow. I read that it helps thicken the lining and make it more conducive to implantation. I hope so!

So my temp actually rose this morning, YAY! I was starting to think that it would stay low, but I guess I was wrong, YAY!

I'm really tired right now, I could take a nap, let my cervix relax a little. It is still cramping from the IUI.

And the 2WW wait begins, I'm officially 1DPO today. :wohoo:
