Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Ali- yay, congrats! 1dpo and amazing odds for you right now  I am excited :happydance: Bring on the tww :trouble: lol! And yes- progesterone helps thicken the uterine lining to maximize implantation efforts  I am so glad that we (dh and I) decided to go that route and take the extra progesterone. Can't wait to see that bfp lady! :hugs:

You'll make it :laugh2: Tww is a bugger though isn't it??

HEHE! Sick of BD! I can understand that! Sometimes it gets kind of mechanical when TTC. Any other signs of the O besides the temp?
I checked in to do the IUI but they told me to come back at 9:15 so now I'm hanging out waiting! Found a good breakfast place.. yum!

John is pretty handy! It certainly helps!!

Yes, I had extreme nausea yesterday. It's the funniest thing; since we started TTC, I have had nausea during ovulation every month. That never happened before. This may sound crazy, but could it be a reaction to the sperm? Could sperm be making me produce more LH or estrogen (I read that those hormones cause nausea during ovulation)???

FirstTry - I'm not sure? HCG definitely causes nausea, that is what causes morning sickness, but you wouldn't have that until implantation, it doesn't surprise me that other hormones cause nausea.

Oh, I forgot to mention the other sign of O...positive OPK on Friday and this morning.

Let's hope this is a short TWW. Here's me waiting --> :coffee:

I hear you first try! Yep pretty good odds you just ovulated! Awesome!!!
2DPO.. argh.. 5-12 more days..

Where is everybody today??

I'm here Coy.. just getting laundry done and thinking about the work week ahead..
I don't have any symptoms at all today at 2DPO..
I also started crinone this morning, not too bad.. so far.. it is going to cost me about $460 a month :( maybe my max out of pocket for RXs will come through?
What's new with you?

Hey up all, hope you are all having a good weekend?

Ali - fab news honey, bring on the 2ww, sure you're already down 2 days, see it's flying in :winkwink:

Greyeyes - your post about your daughter Teagen made me laugh, oh that just confirms why we are all on this road doesn't it? The sweetness and innocence of children, bliss :awww:

How is everybody? Firsttry, Sunny

Nothing new here, starting to get itchy feet WTT but only have about another week or so to go until my next AF turns up, and then it's show time again!

Hi ladies!

Ali- 2 dpo seems like its going to take forever but test-time wil; be here before you know it! By 2 dpo I didn't have any symptoms either...let's see, I'm going to look at my chart--

Ovulated on the 28th temp was 97.5.
29th temp was 97.9 w/ thick/creamy cm @ 1dpo.
30th/2dpo temp was 97.9.
31/3dpo temp was 98.0.
1rst/4dpo temp was 98.1.

- stayed there through the 4th/7 dpo where it bumped to 98.2.

By 10 dpo temp was 98.6 then I pretty much quit temping as that was bfp day :) I got my fx'd for you! Your chances are excellent btw! :) Some of my first symptoms that I remember were a stuffy nose and being tired all the time :) Ali I am so glad you are on the progesterone it is an awesome boost for your lining and helps keep babes in place until your placenta takes over at 12 weeks....you should be able to find it cheaper though. Mine was compounded micronized progesterone...The pharmacist gets a kit and uses his micriwave  to melt it all together then poors it into these tiny little pink-finger sized molds...then you refrigerate it. Each little finger size mold is a suppository that pops out, um, then in :haha: Anyway I only paid $107.00 per 30-piece kit so not too bad...maybe ask your OBGYN about it??

Angel- hope your day is going perfect for you!

Jess- how are yout oday?

Marathongirl- where are you ?:nope:

Phil- hope you are still feeling good and percolating baby nicely :haha: What date is your us again??

AFM- have been exhausted lately and trying to determine how best to boost my energy levels. I tried a Watchamaccallit candybar yesterday...it didn't help extremely but it was soooo good I think I'll have to try it again today...You know  give it a second chance :haha: lol Feeling babes move tons now, it's sucha relief every time and so comforting! Also got this bloody nose thing going...I remember having it from my two dd's but my last mw's assistant stuck-uppedly (yes it's a word!!) informed me it was my imagination and nothing to do with pregnancy! Uh-huh, is too! :haha: I think its increased blood flow and hormones...as my nose is always stuffy again just like when I got my bfp...Could be allergies, but  Other than feeling generally tired I am feeling great! Gonna dig down deep and pull out my energy resources cause I got STUFF TUH_DUH! (um, stuff to do, lol)...:) Lovely to see you ladies on here today, I am feeling very happy at the moment! Gonna go drink a ice cold root beer and look out the window at this gorgeous grey day! Nothing can get me down at this point :haha:

Marathongirl- I checked your chart today- up to 98.5 looking very awesome!

Phil- where are you lady?

Ali, FirstTry, Angel, Jess, all you new ladies! I am feeling chatty today!

Hi ladies-

Just am chatty today, soo.......
Well, I got some of my energy back! :smug: Took the girls on a very long walk up into the hills...spotted some horses that they got very excited over and had to pet. It's amazing how curious horses are of little kids! Dogs too! There was this very old yellow lab waiting at the bottom of the hill for them. We took a different path home so he became very sad :( lol. Then we found bushes of wild roses and moss roses so picked a bunch to put in a vase on the table. Bright red and bright yellow! Mmm smell awesome...oh, and light pink :) Anyway, then I fed the girls again  lol, made a cheesecake, and now am cooking donner, steak and mashed potatoes again. Hey, spuds are on sale so  lol, dh just can't eat too many. :) My butt'll be wishin' I hadn't had ANY at all  Aw well :)

Hey everyone! Well, I think I just stay way too busy on the weekends. I didn't even get on my computer since I left work on Friday and I never think about checking in with everyone on my phone! :dohh: I went to two movies this weekend ...Men In Black III and Snow White and the Huntsman...both were really enjoyable!! So I haven't kept up with anyone...how is everybody?

Coy...you had A LOT of energy yesterday! I wish I was over for steak and potatoes! Yummie!! I am making that tonight...

Ali...what's up with you girlie? Good weekend? Great weekend? Talk to me!

Tia...It seems that you are feeling a lot better. I'm so glad. My heart hurt for you last week. I'm so glad the bleeding stopped!!

Phil, Marathongirl, and everyone else...how was the weekend for you?

Well I'm not sure I'm happy that it is Monday, but I am in a great mood! Who wouldn't be when you could be making a baby?:baby:

So the rest of the weekend was busy, between the IUIs and the cramps, and painting the bedroom and giving 3 dogs baths, and spring cleaning, I was running around like a crazy woman!

Bedroom looks awesome, the colors turned out so nice, and for once I have color on the walls, no more institutional white! I swear I thought I was going being committed to a rubber room everytime I was in there, the walls were so stark:haha:We chose a soft shade of blue that was called dawns early light, and then the same blue only 2 shades darker for the archway into the bathroom. The colors match my duvet cover, and hopefully will help tie the room together better. My next chore will be to recover my chaise in a blue fabric, currently it is a forest green, and doesn't match the decor. I have done some re-upolstery in the past, and this piece doesn't look to be that bad. Maybe I will tackle that this weekend!

I am now 3DPO, and I don't really have any symptoms, mild lower back pain and slight cramping, but it is so minor. I seem to tire easily, and took lots of little breaks while running around like a chicken with my head cut off. My temps are rising a little day by day, Coy? What do you think, do my temps look good? They seem so low to me, but maybe my temps are just normally lower? Since this is my first month charting, I have no idea. I have also heard that people with a thyroid condition have lower temps normally, and perhaps that is why mine are lower? I do take a thyroid medication, and it is keeping my TSH, FT4, T3 etc all in the low normal (which is good since without medication they would be off the charts high).

Coy, I do think that I can find a different progesterone supplement that is cheaper, and will do so if I am indeed pregnant. My FS only gave me enough for 6 weeks anyway. I figure if I am pregnant, I will get a new Rx from my OBGYN and use his Rx from then onwards. Plus I will be in Canada, so I might be able to get the Rx even more cheaply. That would be nice :)

Jess I hope you had a fantabulous weekend and enjoyed the movies :) I agree steak and potatoes sound good! (I made spaghetti sauce yesterday and roasted a spaghetti squash, so I'll be having spaghetti sauce over my spaghetti squash for dinner)!

Angel - glad you are doing well, and thanks for your continued support!

Tia - so glad you went to the Dr's with your charts, I know that it isn't fun to hear that your cycle wasn't great, but it is true, mine has done that in the past, so don't sweat it, and its time to start anew!!!:hugs:

FirstTry - how are things with you today? Any symptoms to share? I know its kinda early, but you just never know

Did I forget anyone, if so I'm really sorry, and I hope you are having a great day too:happydance:

Good Morning everyone!
It's been a super busy weekend for me.... On Saturday we went to a "New Canadian Citizenship" party for one of the ushers from our wedding... He's a welshman who's now got dual citizenship! He specially requested a Guinness Cake (for which I'm famous around these parts) so spent Saturday making and decorating it up for the party that night!
Other than that, I've been working to get these dresses done for Friday! YIKES.... I started putting the skirt onto the bodice for the main part of the Italian Renaissance Gown.... but pleating in about 4 yards/meters of fabric takes a bit of time!! I still have the whole Overgown to make, though the fabric itself is cut out at least!!
I always forget how long it takes to make a new outfit for these things and feel like I can just whip one off.... but with the amount of fabric I'm dealing with, it really does take hours and hours.... Hemming the skirt alone, without stopping to pee usually takes a good hour and a half!!! The light at the end of the tunnel is that as soon as this one is finished, I don't have to make another one throughout the whole pregnancy!! I've brought the waistline up to an empire waist so my belly can just grow and grow and grow!!!
I may be a little mia the next couple of days while I work to get this all finished... next week I should be able to load a couple of pics if you guys are interested in seeing the final product??
chat soon, lovely ladies! Good luck and much baby dust to ALL!!!
phil.

OHH.. I forgot to say hello to Phil!!! I'm sorry :(
Sounds like you are keeping busy, and that is great! Guinness cake, mmmm.. that sounds really yummy! I would love to see your handiwork, I wish I could do things like that. But alas, I am useless with a needle and thread. I can darn socks, and sew on a button, LOL :haha:

:hugs:

Phil...Of course we would like to see the finished product!! I am amazed by anyone that can take fabric and sew it up in a way that allows it to become clothing! Lol! Needless to say, I am not that person...my attempts in the past border on horrific at best! :haha::rofl:

HEHE!!! Me too! My last attempt at making clothes was for my cabbage patch kid! :haha::rofl: remember those? HAHAHAHA!!! I am fairly competent in other ways, like home decor, painting, re-upolstering, handy man type things, but not sewing or knitting. I too am in awe of those that can do these things and do them well

you guys make me laugh!! The best I used to do was halloween costumes for my DD, and they were definitely only functional!!! I got interested in the medieval society here and there have been some lovely ladies who have taught me along the way.... I like to make my own patterns and even though it feels like it takes forever, I like a good finished seam!! (that's sewing down the seam so it's flat, flat, flat!!).... the feeling I get from taking a piece of fabric and then wearing it as clothes I've made is addictive!!
Now, if I could only figure out how to make 'modern' clothes, I'd be set!!!
giggle
