Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Wow! Bring on the Gonal-F!! :haha: I wouldn't mind twins! :) That'd be awesome, two at once- talk about a time saver lol :) Yay! Got my fingers and toes crossed for ya Ali  Sounds like an awesome opportunity! Can't wait for your tww :hugs:

OMG!!! Can you imagine how hard triplets would be for a single mom! You would very no sleep!!! :coffee: to the rescue...That settles it...I'm coming to help out if you have triplets.

I would love the help! I certainly hope I don't have triplets! Not sure I could managed that it would be pretty insane at my house, 3 babies and 2 doggies. EEK! I wouldn't mind twins though, especially if I had a boy and a girl. That would be perfect. I will know more next Tuesday when I go in for another scan to see how many follicles developed. Right now I only have 2 that registered above 7mm, but it is only day 3! By day 7 last month I had 5 or so on each ovary, but by day 12 only 1 had grown to full size.

Jess how are you feeling? I hope that you are feeling good, your temps look good, and I really hope this is your month, GL, FX'd and :hugs:

Hi ladies. Thank you for your support. I went to dr today and they ended up sending me to surgical center to get fluid tapped. That was excruciating! I was wide awake. I think the numbing was the worst part. I did feel some relief as the fluid was being drained. They did as much as they could but unfortunately they may need to do it again once things settle. My lungs are pretty raspy. I am hoping the worst is over.
Thinking about all you ladies. Sending lots of baby dust!

Gncope- Sending :hugs: your way! Hope you get feelin gbetter soon! Hang in there, you are a tough lady!

AFM- I am starvin gladies :nope: lol! I fforgot to eat dinner again...I fixed it but got busy as I had assignments, then kept pushing dinner back. Now it is going on midnight and everyone has been asleep for hours. I finished my work but realized I need to go raid the kitchen :haha: Oh I perfomed a test this morning...I checked my fasting glucose at 79 which is perfect. Then I at about 5 half-sized saltine crackers and a half cup of black coffee. Waited half an hour and checked- my glucose was 122! Now, I can see after eating a full meal it may spike momentarily, but 5 little crackers? That's nuts. So I checked online and I guess the glycemic index of saltines specifically is very high! So no more crackers for me until after babes is born :sad1: But I did read that peanut butter (aside from having tons of protein) actually prevents glucose spiking, so I just had PB on whole wheat for lunch...anyways, then I forgot until just now to eat  Hope the PB doesn't have a catastrophic effect upon my thighs and butt cheeks :haha: :haha: I know it is high in fat (good fats though) but  Mmmm, speakin gof food (can you tell I am hungry? :haha:) I tried making Kung Pow chicken for the first time last night - for myself, as my family is afraid to try it  and I loved it. More importantly babes loved it :haha: She kicked like crazy then got hiccups- which means she was tasting her amniotic fluid. Hmm. A spice lover :haha: Gonna go eat now ladies- have a great night (good morning Terry-tracey! :friends:)

Morning Coy, and morning everyone else, strange isn't it, I've been awake for 2 hours and you're just going to bed, I hope when you have your baby that she doesn't have the same kind of schedule, can you imagine your baby staying awake as late as you, it'll drive you potty!

Ali, Wow, now I've always said I would love twins, but I think if I had triplets, we would have to move back to Nottingham to be near the Mother-in-Law so I would get some help. Twins would be ideal for me, with my age, I would only have to go through all this the one time as I desperately want at least 2. Hubby has said 1 at the moment, but I'd definitely like more.

Jess, any symptoms yet? I'm still not feeling it, my temp went back up again this morning, but who knows eh? Roll on Saturday when I'll be testing.

Oh, my! I've had that done before and it does hurt so bad. :hugs: Hope they don't need to do it again.

:hi: Hello everyone!

gncope...I hope and pray that you get better really fast. I can't imagine what you are feeling but I am so sorry that you had to go through that procedure with removing fluid. :sad1:

Coy...First of, how in the world do you forget to eat? :saywhat: That never happens to me!! Lol! Kung Pow chicken, huh? I'm making chicken fried rice tonight...it is the ONLY Asian dish I can adequately prepare. Everything else ends up tasting like...well, something other than Asian food!

Terri-Tracey...(made me laugh when Coy called you by this name!) How are you feeling today? ...no symptoms yet for me either. :nope: Sore breasts come every month...although they came a few days earlier than they normally do. But that ain't sayin' much. I see your temp spike again this morning. Do you ever go and look at other charts similar to yours on FF? I seem to be obssessed with it right now...but I only look at pregnancy charts...not any of the others...:dust: to you this month! Maybe we will be preggo buddies!! :friends:

Ali...did you have dreams about triplets last night!?!? I woke up thinking about you and the chaos that would ensue from triplets. :haha: But it would also be such a magnificent blessing!!:angel::angel: Three little angels running around...I tell you, sometimes, as I am watching "A Baby Story" on Lifetime Network (or is it TLC?), I am envious of those moms with more than one baby...

AFM...well, I watched more Olympics last night. I have to be careful not to watch the news since it gives away who won given that when I finally see the events they have already happened.
My temp went up again today...I hope that is a GREAT sign!:happydance: I also feel like my appetite has gone up a bit. Or maybe I am just having my normal junk food cravings! :haha: Never the less, I ask God every day to send me an ...

Wow, Jess, your temps are looking really good, just going up and up, fingers crossed its a really good sign. Still nothing for me, except going to the loo a lot, but then I'm drinking a lot too as I'm really thirsty at the moment. My boobs hurt again straight after ovulation and I've got pimples, which I only normally get with AF, I'm quite lucky really, my skin is pretty good.

I often 'forget' to eat too. It has been known for me to go whole weekends without eating anything, the problem lies when I start eating again, its as if I haven't eaten for a month!!

I haven't done any knitting for a while, but last night I decided to start again, I make premature baby cardigans for a local hospital. My Gran and Mum make them too. I can make a cardigan a day if I'm doing it all day. The one I'm making at the moment is a gorgeous pink colour. I've kept a few that I've made for 'later'. Every time I see my Gran, she'll ask me if I'm making it for myself or donation, she is desperate for me to get pregnant again. She doesn't like kids at all, but she knows how much I want them. She regularly tells my Mum that if they had protection that we have these days, she wouldn't have had any children. Charming eh? She's a strange one!

gncope, sorry about what you're going through at the moment, I hope August is a much better month for you. xx

Coy, I hope you got some decent sleep last night.

Angel, where are you? haven't heard from you for a few days.

Everyone else :hi:

OK...does ANYONE have any ideas on how to creatively tell your significant other that you are preggo?

How about getting the positive preg test or a photo of one, wrapping it up in a huge box with a bow on top. I'm not very imaginative I'm afraid.

My Bf's birthday is August 24th. If I find out I am pregnant before then the present idea is doable. I could give it to him for his birthday...
Originally I was thinking I could actually put a card in the mail to him from his baby saying something about "see you in April." I if I can actually keep it to myself for that long.... But he might ask me to check the mail! Lol! So maybe a card with the present would be better...:winkwink:

You will definitely know this cycle before the 24th August, in fact, you should know nearly 3 weeks before then. I don't know if I'd be able to keep it secret from my Hubby for that long, besides, won't he be expecting you to be wanting his er 'services' sometime by then????

That is what I was thinking! You might have to spill the beans about the sticky one before August 24th! I think I would put the test somewhere that he goes/looks all the time. Just put it somewhere that you know he will find it, and wait for him to see it, and come find you! Or as I think Tracey said, you could wrap the positive test up in a box, and tell him its an early b-day gift! That would be really sweet too!

Hey Ladies!

:hi:

gncope, boy I hope that you start feeling better soon! Sounds like you've had a rough couple of days.

Coy - EAT! EAT! EAT! I often forget to eat too, but you really need to EAT. Kung Pao Chicken sounds yummy! Make sure you get some nice restful sleep too. GEESH! You need it silly!

Tracey - cool that you knit for the hospital, I wish I was able to do things like that. I know how to knit (well I used to) but never got beyond making scarves! :haha: I didn't have the patience to sit down and knit. I always seemed to want to go off and do something. I hope you do keep a few for you for your :baby:

Jess - great temps and I hope you can come up with some awesome way to tell your BF when you get your :bfp:

AFM - nothing to report here.. just playing the waiting game. I have decided to do my shots at night because they make me tired and give me headaches. That way I can be tired and headachey and go to sleep! I will have to order my sperm soon. Needs to be here by next week, and Monday is a holiday here Civic Holiday (August 6th). Maybe I'll do that when I get home. Mom is dragging me to the store with her, and we've been cleaning and re-organizing the kitchen all day. Great vacation I'm having! LOL. It is raining and icky outside, so I guess we may as well get some stuff done inside.

Ok...I am looking for changes in my body because other than having sore breasts, I have NO symptoms.

So I have to share with ya'll...we are all friends, right? :winkwink:

First, I told ya'll about the uterine cramps after my orgasm during :sex: on Sunday...well, today...
After I took a shower this morning I was looking in the mirror trying to figure out if anything looked any different. It was then that I noticed the hair on my va-jay-jay!! It is out of control!! I normally get a Brazilian wax every four weeks and there is not a whole lot to do. But right now, it looks like I havent been waxed in at least 8 weeks! (I go this weekend for my wax.) AND, the hair on my legs, well, I'm having to shave EVERYDAY. It seems to be growing faster too! When I researched it, the sites I found said this has something to do with the prenatal vitamins you start to take when you are pregnant. But I have been taking my prenatal for almost a year!! I don't know what the deal is, but I hope these are my UNCOMMON pregnancy symptoms [-o<

Jess- took a look at your chart this morning- this continual rise is an awesome, a very good sign. Course this is the first month of temping right? So we don’t know if this is your norm or not. But generally the continual rise is an awesome sign! Can’t wait to see it tomorrow! Hm, telling your significant other..I have heard of things like putting it on a T-Shirt then wearing it and waiting for him to notice…giving him a shopping list with newborn-diapers on it….I liked the idea you mentioned about mailing him a congrats card!  that sounds fun! Lol, I didn’t even think of trying something like that :dohh:. With ours I just walked in the room, stuck the positive bfp in his face and squealed “Look!” Of course in my excitement I forgot he probably didn’t know how to read it  "is it a pregnancy test...?" "Yes!" He stared at it for a minute then asked “is that an ovulation test?” I said “No!” and he stared at me for a minute then said slowly, “Soooo…..you’re pregnant?” lol, silly man. I should have thought of a fun way to do it :dohh: Re: getting hairy…hm, I think it is a symptom, I shave, um, everything  everyday anyway just as a preventative routine, I would love to wax! But I do notice most women (including me) get a fuzzy tummy, so check your tummy :haha:

Ali- what you need is a vacation! Lol! Try to take is easy for a few days and stop planning beyond your bfp :winkwink: And wow, it is finally raining! :happydance: Don’t call it icky it sounds awesome! Get out in it and get wet, lol!

AFM- well, I experimented with my glucose again today. Yesterday I consumed about 5-7 half-sized saltines and it jumped 43 points. Today I consumed an entire PB sandwich (2 slices whole wheat bread) and it climbed only 29 points. So a big difference considering the amount consumed. Btw, I always prefer to eat more  lol! I worry about the fat in PB but  Today no school required- phew!  I was up til 0100 getting finished up last night :growlmad: Today I think I will hike maybe and find something to organize…the garage or closets or something….I am going to cut weeds though. Oh and we had a small drama here today. One of the crazy neighbor lady’s cats killed a bird out front of our yard  The girls wre out playing and saw the whole thing :sad1: Anyway then we realized after the cat left that the bird wasn’t dead  Then they started clamouring to “save it”…So dh and I,, what can you do. So I called the local dog cather dude and told him to prevent my children having to watch a bird die :haha: So he was gracious enough to come and “save” (re:dispatch cpvertly) the little bird. Oh, but he also saved a newborn kitten ina bush we were unaware of so my girls quickly got sidetracked (Phew!) lol. Little Kid Drama :haha:
