Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

AFM: Had our spa day today! I'm sporting eyelash extensions, had a massage, a facial and a mani pedi!! I'm almost ready to have this baby!! Blessingway ceremony tomorrow! Very excited!
So today, I also had my latest ultrasound and was told that the baby was approximately just under 7 lbs - so exactly NORMAL size for gestational age.... AND my placenta looks good and healthy, and all the other factors they look for to determine health of babe and placenta all look good as well....
I meet with the obstetrician tomorrow morning where we will evaluate the results and then I will get the official recommendation from the obstetrician about how she wants the labour and delivery management to go... last time I was there, I was told that if everything looked good (healthy placenta, normal sized baby) that her recommendation would be for me to stay with the midwives and allow labour to happen spontaneously and naturally (as opposed to being induced).... So that is exactly what I'm expecting to hear tomorrow!
If that's not what she tells me, I'll really advocate hard for it.... I can't see any reason why I can't have the natural labour I want at this point.... all signs are pointing to getting what I want!! *grin*

So, the obstetrician appointment, then the Blessingway.... then I can just sit back and wait for her to come!! I have a few little things to wrap for my daughter for Christmas, but will be doing that on Saturday.... and then I can reward myself by just being a bump on a log until after Christmas!!

Time for bed.... It's past midnight and my world hasn't ended yet.... must be ok then, and NOT the end of the world??
Goodnight ladies!!

I am happy that all signs are pointing to you having the natural birth you want Philomena :happydance: Hope you had a wonderful time at the Blessingway :)

Hello Coy :hugs: I hope that you are able to relax and enjoy Christmas soon and stop working so hard.

Hi Ladies. Sorry I've been MIA. My computer has been cranky. I was able to post a title but not the text? It was very frustrating!

Babywhisperer- Sorry your news wasn't better. I agree with you... we have to go through all the hard work, pain, stress, meds, etc... and the guys usually only have to work on the fun part. So Not Fair! Hopefully your FS will tell your DH to stop taking that.

Coy - Girl, you need to put your foot down and demand a break! Or just take one.

Ali - Congrats on your promotion :happydance: :happydance: When are your doctors going to test? I would stop testing and wait for that test.

Everyone else - :hi: I'm still trying to catch up on the posts. :flower:

AFM - Wow, it's been an interesting week. Hubby and kids left on Monday to pick up MIL. Right after they left, we were predicted to have a Blizzard on Wednesday, the day they were coming back, so they had to spend the night on the road and finish the trip a day later. We did get the blizzard, I enjoyed the extra day to myself, and they made it home safely. :happydance:
I have been sick with whatever crud is going around here, and still don't have much energy. But I'm starting to feel better.
:witch: arrived at 2:30 this morning, but I knew I wouldn't get pregnant this month, so on to another cycle. That actually works out better. My insurance premium went up about 40% starting January 1st, so I'm going to have to cancel it. Just can't afford that right now. We are looking into https://mychristiancare.org/ right now. It's not health insurance, but a plan where Christians share other Christians' medical bills. We can all be on this plan for just a little over what my premium was. Right now I am the only one with insurance. And the best part is that it will cover a pregnancy, where my insurance has a waiver on it for anything female since I did fertility treatments 16 years ago.
Well, I'm starting to babble... I think I'm going to try to get a little more sleep  We are going to go into town today for some grocery shopping and hopefully I can sidetrack my husband so I can pick up his gift. :winkwink:
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ali-

Here is what I have read so far re:progesterone:

Progesterone levels after ovulation (midluteal, middle of the second half of the cycle) in a non-preggo woman is about 8-10 ng/ml. After you eat prog drops too- did you get your test early in the morning? Most doctors like to see progesterone levels around 16-18 ng/ml or more though there are many successful pregnancies with lower levels.

So- I think you're sittin' pretty!

Hahahaha you had to buy a fridge for extra cold drinks? :saywhat: Can I come over :winkwink: lol......

Ladies!!!

So great to hear from you all each day :hugs:

TwoToGo- hope oyu kick this crazy sickness and make your kids do all the Christmas cookin'

Chantal- odd that kind of pain- I wonder is it ever associated with the Fybromialgia? I am glad it has gone in any regard- are you ready for the holidays? :hugs:

Babywhisper- whatup girl? Thinking about you over in shivery cold NY right now! Stay warm

Babydust- where are you???

Angel- :hi: I know you are lurking- hope you have a fabulous Christmas!

Traci- :hugs:

Alin :bunny:

Everyone- :hug: to you !!!:xmas16::xmas16::xmas16:

Keep popping on stalking news of Ali, up to my eyes everybody but hi!!!!!!!! xoxo

I'm here Angel!

Not sure what is going on down there and I've decided not to test again until Christmas! I was driving myself bonkers and I realized what will be will be and I can't change it now. So I'll just wait!

Does anyone know why it would smell like semen down there? Such an odd smell! Especially since I'm not having :sex:

Has anyone ever heard of it? So strange!

Ali - first I want to say- Yay! You're online :happydance:

Seconddly-kind of odd but not unheard of I guess. All I could find (so far) in research is that cm smell changes with your diet....so have you added anything to your diet? Is it sweet smelling? could be the influence of certain flora iykwim, yogurt, etc...

Heheh...God MUST love me :cloud9: I was discussing with dh my need for a new mop against the intimidating pric of new ones, fixing my old one, and how I hated rope-mops  Well, ten minutes after our conversation I drive to our local thrift store and they have a second-hand mop that is still NWT!!! It is a steam wet/dry vac that does everything from dusting my ceiling to scrubbing the bathroom floor to steam-cleaning my carpets to steaming out wrinkles on my silk blouses!!! It's tag price was at $172.00 w/o tax :sad1: but they tagged it at $20.oo so I grabbed it right? Well at the register the lady is prmoting their Christmas sale and says everything is half-off and also because I shopp there often I get a $5.00 iscount  so I paid a total of $5.30 !!!! :saywhat: I really AM Irish (lucky)lol! :winkwink:

Oh and I found a spring-style carousel riding horse for Kat's birthday for 20.00-brand new!

Ali- that sounds like a great idea to wait till Christmas to test again. That will be the best Christmas gift and by then you could have enough hcg to be detected on hpt :) I have never heard of the semen smell you spoke of and googled it and didnt find much either. Maybe you could ask your nurse?

Coy -that is an awesome deal! You work so hard taking care of your family that God sends you good deals to help make your tasks a little easier

twotogo-You and I are are starting a new cycle on the same day :)
The :witch: showed up for me this morning but I am managing to keep cramps to a minimum with tylenol. (surprisingly).I really think the primrose oil is helping. I had stopped using it and can see a big improvement using it again.

My gluten-free fruit cake was a hit today. They asked my secret and when I said I added rum to it everyother day my brother in law's girlfriend said no wonder I am feeling drunk
We have a burst pipe on our front lawn so if they come and fix it tomorrow they will have to turn off the water and I am cooking for 6 people. Dh's brother lives 15 mins from here so they said we could wash dishes and have showers there if we need to. Hoping we still have water tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your burst pipe! How frustrating.

They have blocked off our street and digging up the road in front of our house and fixing it right now. Looks like they will be working during the night. I guess most people would have their family over for Christmas eve or day but we are having them today and tomorrow because the weekend was convenient for them but that may have to change to the 24th dec. I think dh's Dad is the only one not working though. We will see how the street looks in the morning.

Hopefully it will be back to normal by then! I have to work on Christmas Eve (but I'm doing so from home) that is my last day of work in 2012!!! YIPEE!

It is :cold: down here in FL, I went out for a walk and needed my winter coat on! I even have the heat on in the house, and turned on my electric fireplace. I miss the real thing, and always make my family sweat in the summers because I want to have a fire in the fireplace at the cottage. :haha:

So we're trying to figure out what to make for Christmas Eve, thinking something with seafood, like a seafood casserole. Then a turkey on Christmas day. I found a really yummy breakfast casserole that is GF (potato, bacon, egg, cheese) for Christmas morning, so we'll give that a try. YUM!

Chantal-

Aargh! I hate plumbing issues and there is absolutely NEVER a good time for them to happen...but worse at Christmas, right?! Nuts! I am glad they will keep working until its fixed........in my town they'd hand us a flier letting us know they'll fix it after the holidays :haha:

Ali- lol, you miss fires, eh? Your Canada and Colorado lifestyle! I love them too, we burn a fire every night in winter. We have a gas furnace but it is expensive and just not the same...
Hm, seafood casserole? That's def the influence of FL :haha: I never learned to cook with seafood :sad1: I did make pork steaks cooked in citrus with a fruit salad for dinner- was pretty good, but then again  I was hungry, lol.

I do miss my winter, so it is nice when it is here. My doggies both slept under the covers last night, it was just that cold. Had to pull out the down comforter, we were all snug as a bug in a rug! I have one of those fake fireplaces that are electric, and pump heat. I use it rarely, but it is nice to have as a focal point in the room. Growing up we always had some weird thing for dinner on Christmas Eve, my Mom would do a goose, or a rabbit, or a rack of lamb, or a standing rib roast. That was back when we had 10-12 for dinner. Lately though we've been having seafood for dinner, then the traditional turkey the following day. I love seafood, and so does my Mom. My brother on the other hand, would rather have chicken! Typical man, wants his meat and potatoes. Speaking of my bro, we pick him up at the airport around 6pm tomorrow, YAY! Then the festivities begin!

I love seafood too! In Barbados I got it fresh from the fish market. Here I have to settle for frozen and there are not many to choose from. I mostly eat wild salmon. I miss the barracuda, red snapper, swordfish and tuna from Barbados. Everyone ordered steak today but me, I had the salmon. I am baking a ham tomorrow but for Christmas dh and I are going out for a Japanese lobster dinner and they serve raw oysters. I eat as many as I can since they are high in zinc and good for fertility :haha: Ali I make that same casserole for breakfast Christmas morning. It is yummy :)

Hello Coy:) Have you got all the girls gifts wrapped? Must be difficult wrapping them so they don't see huh.

So the guys from the ulitility company just knocked on our door and said they hit a gas pipe while trying to fix the water problem so they had to come inside to check for gas leaks. I was going to go to bed but I think I'll wait. Oh we have a gas stove. handy for when there are power failures but in this case..NOT!!There are a dozen or so working out there now.:muaha: I am sitting here drinking red :wine:while dh plays halo 4. Only time I can drink wine when the :witch: is here :haha:
