Welcome to 'Trying To Conceive Over 35'

Coy this is for you since I know you will be disappointed if I don't post a pic. I can't see anything on this but in person there is light pink line

R u kidding? I can see that line clear as day!!! Congrats!!!

Ended up getting a cold sore :( stress of tww and building the new house. AF is bright red but pretty light.

Thanks twiggers! I have never tested until I was at least a day late and :af: isn't due till tomorrow. I only tested cuz I wanted to know if I should continue progesterone and FF has today as my test day. I had a bfp a year ago with a faint line like this but it got never got darker and I started spotting and then :af: showed. I never told Dh. I still don't know if I should tell him tonight? I will be so disappointed if this isn't a viable pregnancy and I know he will too:nope:

Building a new house is so stressful but when it is all done you will be so happy to have a home just the way you want it. :)

I phoned to make an appointment for hcg blood test here at the clinic down the street. The nurse said that if I got a positive hpt then I am pregnant and don't need a blood test and said she would book me for a prenatal appointment but it's next week and I told her I would be in Barbados. I told her about the miscarriage. She said that she still couldn't book me for an emergency blood test. Maybe I should phone the nurse from the fertility specialist and ask her how I can get a hcg blood test tomorrow but I haven't been her patient since June 2012. She will most probably tell me to make an appointment with a midwife.

Chantal. I knew it!!! I have a good feeling. Do it again. So excited. :cloud9:

I finally got my crosshairs and Coy you were right my baseline whatever you call it is 97.4. I was so excited to even see i got crosshairs. Well we bod all weekend and Tues. Florida trip was relaxing. So lets see...

Yay! for crosshairs Samsfan. A relaxing trip could do the trick :) Your chart is looking good

Chantal! OMG!! I see it, I see it!! It's not only there hon it is DEFINATELY there! :happydance: I can't believe it how amazing! Quick, call your doc! :headspin: If it were me I'd jump on those progesterone supps right away! Are you still applying a creme? That was you, right? Oh gosh, I am mentally running in circles! Yes, my advice is tell your dh. What I did was just handed the test stick to my dh. He stared at it, then stared at me, then back at the stick and was like "Sooo.........." haha! He didn't know how to read the stick! :haha: So funny. Such a great Valentine gift Chantal

BTW- I was just going to chew you out for no pic! You read my mind!

OMG OMG OMG Chantal! That is amazing! :happydance::happydance::happydance: :yipee: :yipee: :yipee: :yipee: :yipee:

My regular doctor (not OBGYN) will draw blood for me or give me a req to get it drawn at the local quest lab. So you could try that?

HOLY CRAP!!! YOU JUST MADE MY VALENTINES DAY!!! WOHOO!!!! :headspin:

I would definitely get in somewhere to discuss the progesterone thing. I know you are using the cream right now, but I would get a second opinion on what needs to be done, whether you should be on something stronger. We need that little bean to STICK!!!! So if you get a HCG drawn, get a progesterone done too.

WOW!!! I'm still bouncing off the walls! :wohoo:

Oh yeah, and check w/your doc (any obgyn or mw) about flight during first month....and be careful sunbathing....and no alcohol...lol!

Oh wow! Thank-you ladies for your awesome support!! I will definately take your advice!

Ali your enthusiasm is so contagious! I couldn't help but get a little excited when reading your post despite the fact that I have been telling myself not to get excited till :af: is late and the line gets darker. That is a good idea about the lab but I have never been sick since I have lived here so I don't have a primary care. The place went to the first time I got bfp don't want to do a blood test so early. I will go anyway tomorrow morning and see what they are willing to do for me in person. Yes I am still using the progesterone cream. I have some stronger suppositories leftover from ivf but I won't be able to get more of those as they were prescribed by RE.

Coy I am so glad I refused all alcohol, even with the party in going out to the restaurant last night. Wasn't taking any chances. I feel it is too early to get a ticker though. I have been looking bfp pics and had convinced myself it was too faint a line for 15dpo so your comments made me feel better. Do you think it is unsafe to fly so early? What about scans at the airport?

Twiggers I probably won't sleep tonight waiting for FMU so I can test in the morning. You know how after the first one you need a second just so you can believe it's true? Well I didn't get to do that cuz I threw out the pee cup too fast. :growlmad: I'm thinking what if it was a false positive? I lived in Barbados for 27 years and have permanent residence but I don't have insurance there anymore. I don't mind paying out of pocket for a blood pregnancy test and progesterone test there if they wont do it here. I have a primary care doctor there and she knows all my medical history since I was 12.

Chantal- it's THERE definately not too faint. Here is a comparison pic of mine- when I got my first bfp feb 7 2012 on a FRER-

btw- IF YOU HOLD IT FOR A COUPLE HOURS YOU'LL PROB GET ANOTHER BFP CONFIRMATION W/A FRER ugh, sorry- cap lock was on and I got cupcakes in the oven ans a babes on my shoulder!! lol

Sounds to me like you need to call around and find someone that will see you. Even a walk-in clinic will draw blood for you. Right now you just need to get confirmation. I would get an appointment with an OBGYN to let them know you got a positive on a HPT, and explain your history, and hopefully they will get you in for some further blood work. I think it is important you get that done before you go to Barbados. I have no idea what they will do with regards to flying. I don't see why it would be bad to fly at this point. Again, I'd talk to an OBGYN about it. I totally understand not wanting to create a ticker or believing it. I think I would be in shock too, good shock, but still thinking.. whaaaaa? Is this real? Then doing a little jig! HEHE.

See what you can do about getting that blood test, go hold up a lab if you can't get anyone to do it.. Just kidding. Call around and see what you can do about seeing an OBGYN. I'm sure you can get an appointment pretty quickly especially considering the situation.

Coy your photo is a better one than what I took with the phone but that's how mine looks in person! thanks! Oh how many dpo was that?

Ali the earliest appointment with an OBGYN is Wednesday and we leave on Monday at 3am. You made a good suggestion about going to a walk-in clinic to see a regular doctor so they can write a form for Quest labs but would I get the results before Monday?. I can get make an appointment for Barbados from here.

When I had a varicella injection they did a blood test to make sure I wasn't pregnant and I seem to remember they phoned me with results the next day..

Chantal-

I thought mine was 9dpo but in looking back at my old chart it was 11dpo- give or take a day of course. I was just looking at your chart and I am thinking that FF placed your ov date too soon. I don't think you would get a positive opk the same day as ov?? On the 30th it shows a positive opk. Then your temp at 97.9 from the average 97.7 or so..the next day 97.9 again. Then on the 2nd a huge temp spike up to 98.5. I am guessing maybe that is your Ov day? And if that is the case then you would be 12dpo! Either way that is a definate bfp- and Answer early results are pretty darn reliable! My MW once told me that there are no false positives- but there can be false negatives. I am sooOOoo excited for you! Have yout old dh yet?

Chantal-

Just to cover something that I know you are thinking about....

Miscarriage (I'll spell it so you don't have too :hugs:) There is NO REASON for you to think it will happen again. I have had two mc's- the first followed directly by a successful pregnancy; the second also followed by a successful pregnancy. SO stop worrying :hugs: But just tomake certyain you do everything you can--e.g., the check-up, talk to a doc, progesterone (at our age advisable) et cetera. Don't listen to the doc that brushes you off- you deserve better than that! I have had docs like that and they don't help people.

Next- if you are worried about telling dh...I did too then realized this is his baby too and I need the support- so I told him. He told me later he was very grateful that I included him and didn't try to spare him stress. Babies come with all kinds of stress - always!!lol-- so don't worry about letting your dh know, he should share in the stress

Hope you don't mind me posting these thoughts :hugs:

Thank-you for taking the time to give incouraging words Coy :) I know you are a busy Mom! They are very positive thoughts so appreciated :) I am so happy to have friends that I can share with. I wish I had known you all the first time I had my bfp. I baked cupscakes and will stick a note in one saying "we're pregnant" for Dh. He always eats dessert before dinner so should work :haha: I am so hungry today! Lobster for Valentine's is a warm food. Acupuncturist says it is good for conceiving. Is it safe to eat during early pregnancy?
