what day do you count as first day of period?

Do you count the first sight of blood as the first day of yor period or the next day when its starts flowing properly? Just starting what i think is my first period after stopping the pill, and even when not been on the pill i mainly spot bits here an there for first day then full flow start next day? What day do i could it from?

I would count the first day with full flow.

I count the first day of any red blood, even if it's light. Sometimes I might have a day when I get a tiny bit of brown when I wipe but nothing more that day and then the red blood started the end day. I don't count that. But any red bleeding, even if it's light, that continues throughout the day counts for me, even if the proper flow doesn't start til the next day.
