What little things gripe you? Pet peeves? Come have a rant! :)

I get annoyed with people who are really slow at the supermarket (staff or other customers). I was stuck in a queue behind a woman recently because she had loads of coupons and was arguing with the checkout lady because some were declined then went off and got something else because the coupon was for a different brand or she had to make it up to a certain value or something. I was getting so impatient with her.

My neighbour on my one side annoys me as they park partly covering my drive sometimes. It doesn't affect me getting in or out of the drive, but I don't like him (he's a miserable old man who complains about everything, despite the fact I am probably the best neighbour he could think of - I'm almost never home, and even when I am, I make barely any noise - I have no TV, I have the radio on quietly, I don't have parties at my house!). I get tempted sometimes to phone my sister/a friend and get them to come over and need to use the other half of my driveway then he's have to move it.

And my other neighbour is starting to annoy me. He has a new girlfriend and, well, they make a little more noise than when his previous girlfriend lived with him. I had to shut my bedroom window before as I could hear them having sex and whilst I would prefer to sleep with the window open, I would feel a bit like a pervert with there being something to do to block out the sound of them. I wish he would just close his bedroom window when he was having sex.

I got really annoyed with someone who had parked at work the other day. I work in a hospital and parking is a nightmare. Some driver had managed to park across 4 bays! Ridiculous, selfish driver.

Babymamma - you so should cover your eye and go oww. That would be so funny.

Pisses me off no end when employers want loads of experience. How can I get experience without someone giving me a chance?! And childcare fees. Ugh

I used to hate the experience thing too! And now I find myself doing the same...When we had to hire someone to replace my coworker who relocated out of state, I didn't want anyone inexperienced because it was already going to take me so long to teach someone the computer system here, how to do the molecular tests we do in addition to the regular cytology work (most cytotechs don't do molecular testing, so since I do, its just a given that I'll have to teach anyone I work with how to do it) that if they were inexperienced, I'd pretty much have to double the training time. Which I didn't have time for, since I was already a month behind. It's a vicious cycle. New employees hate it because they can't get the experience they need, but its hard for employers too, because of time constraints to teach a new employee.

When employees take like three smoke breaks in an hour....wait until your actual break! Its not fair that just cause you smoke you get to take a million breaks in your shift...urgggg!

i agree with this, i really wanted to go into care, i have up to level 3 in health and social care, a diploma at that, & up to level 2 in customer service, but that doesnt matter as im not experienced, to be fair i never will be experienced if they dont take me on and train me.
But on their side, this is why we have(in the uk not sure about anywhere else) apprenticeships?
thats how i got my business and admin & customer service, i worked in a office doing a apprenticeship, then got the job after too so both qualifications and experience x

People who bash into you and don't even say sorry!

Completely agree, this used to annoy me to no end. They banned smoking on hospital property a few years back, though, so employees can't smoke at work anymore which has been super nice as far as not having to hunt down coworkers who are off taking multiple, extended smoking breaks. Also, smokers have to be in the process of quitting. They have provided benefits towards any resources needed to quit. They don't even hire smokers anymore! You have to be already in the process of quitting for them to even consider you.

That's great jd83, where I used to work adopted the same policy. I was a developer at a Food Factory (career break now) and I was on the team that fought for banning smoking on site! Nasty nasty thing to be doing near hospital or food production areas! Yuck!!

I would love to refuse to hire smokers but they'd class it as discrimination unfortunately!

People who don't know how to use chip and pin machines. Yes this goes back to my retail days but they really aren't that difficult and there are instructions on the machine for you to read!

What's a chip and pin machine?

the little machine you pop your bank car in to pay for things in shops etc...

We call them debit machines:winkwink:

Or ATM

Different machine! That's a cash machine!

We mean the one actually in shops if you want to pay by card :)

See that's what I was wondering. I didn't think it was an ATM but maybe a debt/credit machine at the cashier? Although we don't put our card in it, rather swipe. [like this one]

Oh, I was so confused what the heck you guys were talking about...LOL! I've never heard it called that. ATM was all that was coming to mind when you talked about putting your bank card actually in it.

Okay that does look the same as what we have. I think the "putting g your card in" thing is what confused me, rather than swiping card. I've never seen any payment thing in a store that you put your whole card in rather than just swiping it. Pay at the pump at gas stations do have a card insert though.

I was confused too lol That does look like the one's we have. I heard recently that Target was going to change to the machine where you put your card in to the machine. Apparently it helps to keep people from being able to steal your pin/card number from the swipper.

Ours you put the card in the machine as opposed to swipe hence the 'chip and pin' that started it off, our machines read the metal chip when inserted whereas you're a will be reading the strip I believe :)
