..are you all buying?

My DH has fallen in love with an adorable snowsuit in Mothercare but i won't let him buy it for 2 reasons.

1) I have no idea if the baby will even need a snowsuit in March?
2) Do i buy new baby (up to 10lbs) or 0-3mths (up to 14lbs)?

I don't want to buy it and then not get any use out of it - it's £26.00.

Please help me!!!!!!

I've also been wandering this, so don't know the answer, but would love to see people's responses

Well, I'm new to all of this too.. but I have bought very few things in the newborn & everything else in 0-3. I know that the newborn clothes won't last long at all but I figure that in December, I want clothes that will fit and won't be too big to keep baby warm, so that is why I have a few newborn clothes.

I would say that 0-3 for a snowsuit in march wouldn't get much wear as by the time May comes, it will be waaaaaay too hot for a snow suit. I would wait until closer to the time for that time of year to see what the weather is like and you might get it in the sale or cheaper after Xmas :flower:

ive bought some of both, it depends what weight they go upto, some newborn ive got go upto 8lbs some go upto 12lbs, depends on the shop xx

i bought a snow suit from mothercare and i got 0-3 ithought oo i wont be having a 11llb but it might be a bit big at 1st but you acually nevr knw! x

I am just nipping in from 1st, when I had my first baby I didn't bother with newborn sizes and it was a huge mistake I know 0-3 months look small but unless your baby is a whopper you are probably going to need newborn, you also might be better with a little coat in March but its up to you hun, I bought a snowsuit for for each of my three daughters and only used one for the last who was born in October. I was wondering if you are due in the middle of March because you may end up with an April baby and then you have even less chance of needing a snowsuit.

I'm buying a few newborn (and even newborn can vary alot in size - Next is MUCH smaller than ASDA!) and a few 0-3 as with my son we only took 0-3 to the hospital and they all swamped him, hubby ended up going out to tesco to buy him some newborn clothes.

I'm not going to buy loads of clothes before baby is born though, just enough to do for a few days. Family can get things from the shops while I'm in hospital or when I'm just back from hospital.

I'm due in Feb and we will need a snowsuit but I have no idea what size to get either

I bought newborn for my son, then when he went into 0-3 he was only in it for 2 weeks befor he was too big!!
I wished I'd bought 0-3 now looking back as I wasted so many clothes.... All of which I am about to start selling as they are now of no use to me!!!

I also bought a snowsuit in size 6-9 months as he was born in May & i THOUGHT he'd be in 6-9 by Xmas.... But he's in 6-9 months NOW & will never get any wear out of his snow suit now!!! Now I know there is such a thing as being TOO organised!!

Jo xx

All the mums I know have said to buy a handful of cheap babygros (sorry if that means nothing to folk, I still work in old money when it comes to babywear)/sleepsuits and vests etc, something nice in boy or girl colours for the birth/hmecoming (we're staying team yellow) and then to get the rest when LO is here in 0-3 months size as you will never know exactly what size the baby will be, they grow out of everything so quickly and folk will go nuts buying things for you when LO is here aswell.

i bought a mixture :D newborn and 0-3 coats and stuff are 0-3 as he will have clothes underneth them but baby grows n stuff alot are newborn have a couple 0-3 tho x x x

I wouldnt have bought a snowsuit for march, just cardigans and a coat.
Im buying all newborn and all 0-3mths, reason being, i have a tiny family
literally just me, mum, dad and 2 brothers (no cousins/aunties/uncles ect)
So im not expecting to be bought anything much in the way of presents.
Also my daughter was big at almost 10lbs and 0-3mths would have swamped
her at birth, she was in newborn (up to 9.9lbs/10lbs in boots/m&s/ladybird ect) for
about a month and a half. x

With my son (now 5yrs old) i purchased both sizes.. he was born 7lb 6 and grew SO fast that he was only in the new born the matter of a couple of weeks - this time round i am only buying 0-3 and 3-6 months (believe it or not my son was in 3-6 months clothes before he was even 2 months so try and stock up on a few 3-6 months sleep suits too.

Good tip - you cannot have too many sleep suits/Baby grows !!! and if they are a little too big it doesnt matter as they spend so much time sleeping that no one except you will notice. !!

P.S i have also seen a snow suit i want in mothercare - its a little brown teddy bear suit ... i WILL be getting it shortly !! :D i have my 20 week scan/gender scan tomorrow :) so im waiting untill after that.

Yup, my son was in 3-6 clothes at around 2 months too! Mainly for the length of them. They do grow sooo fast that you dont want too many clothes really. With my son being born in May I should have just bought packs of vests as that was (and is) all he ends up in as he gets so hot & chewed! There's been no point in me buying fancy outfits really!! Though he looks lovely in them, he's never in them mor than a couple of hours!!
xx

My May and July babies lived in vests too so I got lots of nice ones! I've got some lovely winnie the pooh ones this time and it seems a shame that no-one will see them lol

I'm getting 0-3 as my last baby was just under 9lb and they've got exactly half a pound heavier each time so far so not expecting a little one! I do have some newborn vests and grows just in case that I was given and I'll just pass them on later.

Thanks for all the help girls - i think i have managed to talk him out of buying it - £26.00 is way too much to spend on something i don't even know will fit. I have found something very similar in Asda for only £6. I can buy both sizes and still only have spent half the money.

I'd say go for it, I'm getting a snowsuit cos my baby is gona be born in the coldest month February. I still wear my thick coats in March, and babies r sensitive so would probably be better off in it. Didn't it snow this year in March and April? Its good for windy rainy days too. xx
