I was at the doctors today. Anyway, I took the children with me and the doctor, who I'd never met before but it's his practice, was really nice and was admiring them.

I got the usual "Twins?". So I said "Yes and IVF twins so they're very special". He looked at me, looked at my notes on screen and then said "aw, you didn't need IVF". He said it in a kindly sorta way, the way that people say "aw, you're not fat".

But seriously... What?!

To which he made some comment about how people often get PG naturally after IVF.

Well maybe some do, but having a "medical masturbation" (sorry a phrase me and DH use to lighten the whole ICSI thing) isn't gonna improve DH's sperm, is it?

I hate it when ordinary people come out with crass comments but it's just damn stupid when the docs do it!

How strange, what did he mean by that. Such a thoughtless throw away comment like he thought that you were embarased by the fact and as you say felt like he had to say something to make you feel better.

Why don't people engage their mouths and their brains before they speak!
