i really want a crib instead of a moses basket and i want one with some movement. i was going to get a rocking crib but the sites i looked on the reviews weren't that great and i do think gliders look nicer but they look like they'd be more awkward to use but i have no idea really so just wanted some opinions on which you think is better. thanks

I think i've decided on the obaby sophie swinging crib but it's typical that the one i choose would be the one that none of the sheets seem to fit the mattress is 85 x 43cm and all the sheets i've seen are 83cm. it'd be easier to just choose another one but once i decide i want something i have to have it! lol

hiya. We've gone for a cradle instead of a moses basket. We opted for a rocking one. I quite liked the idea of a glider crib until i tried a couple of them in the shops and found that the back and forth movement of them was really qiute jerky and a bit harsh. The rocker one is nice and smooth and easier to control the movement of. It also has a stopper for when you dont want the cradle to rock (more for when we dont want the dog to rock the cradle lol).
Think it just depends what you prefer but that was the reason we opted for a rocking one

i have a rocking crib hun the gliders are more expensive and no difference except the glide not rock but i too found the gliding cribs a little jerky x

we have a rocking one, but only cos it's a hand me down (family heirloom sounds better doesn't it!)
TBH, we ended up wedging things under the rockers (it's about 60 years old, no stopper built in!), as we never used it to rock to sleep (didn't want to form bad habits!) and when Charlotte shifted her weight it tipped and she rolled to one side...

I have the rocking crib from mothercare in white , its gorgeous and very sturdy , it also offers a locking system so can be still aswell :)

We have a rocking crib for bubs - it was given to us by my Sister in law but to be honest I think I prefer the rocking ones. xx

I have a white glider, but its still in its packaging so not sure how good it will be x

we went for rocking, as we thought it mimicked my movements more than gliding :) x :blue:

we bought a rocking crib with a locking option and wheel option. you can turn the wheels upwards to change it into a rocking crib and you can also lock it to be still

I had a rocking crib for Luke and he hated it! So we've bought a gliding one this time, hope it's a better buy lol

I bought the Saplings glider grib (white) it is beautiful and despite what we thought the glider action is really, really smooth, we love it. It can also be locked into place at both ends and is really sturdy.

The instructions to put it together were all in writing (no pics) but I'd say it was relatively easy.

We bought it through Amazon (Tots of Love) it was £74, more expensive than a moses basket but I really love it.

We went for rocking, although now we put things under the base to stop it rocking as when baby moved and the crib rocked, she slid and leant more to one side, then every time it rocked she got closer and closer to that one side so it was getting dangerous and now we put muslins underneath to stop it rocking.

The glider ones seem better, she also likes a more jerky movement than a gentle rock.

i have rocking crib jut because it was cheaper and as long as it moves then thats all we wanted
