I'm a week overdue at the moment and trying to induce labour naturally is occupying most of my time, I'm personally not too bothered about being late, I'm just desperate to avoid a hospital induction as I've planned a home water birth which I am determined to get!
I'm off to jump on the trampoline!

I really thought things were getting started on their own last night. I had incredible pain/pressure straight down on my bum starting Sunday evening to the point where yesterday I could barely move. Last night I started to get pretty intense braxton hicks every 10-15 minutes for several hours, continuing into the night while I slept (not sure how regular they were then as I was only half awake for some of them). But now this morning I've only had 1 contraction and the pressure is not near as bad. Sigh!!! I go see the mw this afternoon and hopefully baby's head is now engaged and I can have a sweep too. Good luck to all of us with the sweeps today.

Hello ladies who are overdue... I just wanted to ask if any of you know if you are dialated and effaced yet? My doctor told me she really doesn't think I'll go past next week because my cervix is favorable. I am not convinced though because this is my first baby and I expected to go overdue. Because baby hasn't been engaged at any of my appointments yet my midwife hasn't done an internal on me, so I have no clue. Hopefully I'll find out something at my appointment later.

My midwife doesn't do internals until sweep point, so I don't know. I know that the baby is pretty much fully enagaged which is good.

So I had my sweep this morning which was not very pleasant!! She told me that I am almost 2 cm's dilated, she managed to get one finger in my cervix no problem and sweep round baby's head. Not had any bleeding, but been quite crampy, baby has been going crazy and having reg contractions every 10 mins. Not in pain at the mo but hopefully they will build up to something later x

sounds promising! Good luck, they do sya most labours kick off properly in the early hours - babies must learn about traffic jams early on!

Trying not to get my hopes up coz it will probably all calm down. I found it more uncomfortable than a smear tbh. It didn't hurt, just really uncomfy and not pleasant at all. I felt like she was in up to the elbow but clearly she wasn't!!! Just make sure she lubes you up well, my MW didn't today so that didn't really help either. Oh and if you try to relax it really does help! x

I know what you mean, its so hard getting excited just for everything to disappear again and feel like you are back at square 1!
Never imagined the day i would have to ask a stranger to 'lube me up' it comes to all us women i guess! Thanks for the tip though. Not looking forward to it at all. Oh and thanks cat lady for the advice re. liners/pads, i hadn't even thought about that, would've gotten in a right mess on the walk home with my luck!

I know, tell me about it!!! I got out to the car , sat in there for about 10 mins whilst I realised the horror of what had just happened to me!! There really is no dignity in pregnancy and childbirth!! lol I wasn't looking forward to mine either, all I can say is focus on how great you'll feel on the way out, it'll be over before you know it hun x

well had my sweep too, lost a smidge more blood and stuff but not even half as much as I did from last weeks, so I dont really know whether that is a good sign or a bad sign. The thing is although I am abit crampy am not as bad as last time, the mw was very hopefull this time and said it was an excellent sweep. She half-heartedly made another sweep appointment for thursday morning as she said she reckons I will deliver by then. But I am not so sure!!! I guess we shall see, have been out for a nice long walk along the beach with the dog, having spicy enchiladas for dinner and will be bouncing the rest of the evening!! So we shall see, I just have a horrible feeling I will be going in for induction a week tomo as initially planned!
Am glad yours wasnt too bad NG09, hope things keep going!! Fingers crossed for us all and hopefully Emma, you will go anyway and not need a sweep.

Ive been having pains since Thursday off and on with really bad back ache.
Went for a walk round Donnington market yesterday and ate a full pineapple, and to try get things moving!!! had loose sorry tmi!! and lots of pain, went to bed and it seemed to ease off, got up this morning to few pains so hope today is the day!!

Well...Day 13! Im so used to being pregnant now its silly lol.

Got my induction tomorrow! Today is a day to sort everything out. Had to go into hospital yesterday for monitoring as babys heart rate dropped a fair amount, but everything is fine now I think baby wants to come out now, bless her.

Today's the day then? Unless something happened overnight? Keep us posted!

I see the MW tomorrow for routine appt, had hoped I wouldn't be needing it but guess I will, she is just too comfy in there! She mentioned at the last appt that she would book me a sweep for next Mon or Tues at the appt tomorrow, I think I'm going to ask if she can do it on Fri instead, otherwise there is only a day or so for the sweep to have any effect before they move straight onto induction, which I want to avoid as much as physically possible.

Maybe she will do sweep today? I have MW today as well, I'm planning to ask for sweep, (as well as asking a million other questions!) good luck!

Well I have MW in an hour, better go and get washed and dressed. Managed last night, 2nd time in a week which is a bit of record for us... no indications of anything happening though. DD being a right pickle this morning, so I'd better get a shift on if we're going to get out of here in time!

Havent seen anything from NG09 on here today so hopefully shes gone into labour and will holding bubs by the end of the day.
All cramping stopped really, getting tiny odd twinge and thats about it! Really frustrated - 3rd sweep tomo!! Getting bored of this now and feeling quite fed up!

oh hun i bet you are. Just try to bare in mind that it can just suddenly start and for many people thats how it goes, it doesn't need to build up from cramps etc. so you never know it could be just around the corner. Your midwife was hopefull and i think thats the best sign we can get!
I was wondering where NG09 is too - fingers crossed for her.

Still really crampy and feeling lots of pressure down below, lost lots more plug this morning, how much is thre in there???? lol also (tmi) but had the most upset tummy of my life last night, clearout??? I dunno! I managed to sleep which is the main thing so if bubs decided to come today at least I've had a rest.

My first i had no sign whatsoever - 35 weeks exactly stood up to clear plates after lovely dinner of roast beef and GUSH waters went! They didnt do anything to trigger any contractions etc hospital just sent us home and monitored/scanned daily and he came along at 35+4 on his own, this time is killing me being late but still want him to do it himself - his big bro did so he certainly can follow, hes only already in a one way street....saying that he is a boy so may be in need of diretions cos dont think theres satnav in there...

Hi Ladies,

Well, day 3 of b eing overdue for me today! I have cleaned my nets and windows just need to put my nets back up which I will do once I have finished typing. I have been getting alot more BH's and they have been abit more intense but, nothing that makes me stop what I am doing and, they are not regular at all. Yesterday they were every 50mins for about 3, then the 4th was 30mins later then went to and 1hr15mins then stopped!!!! Today has been similar so far so, just keeping an eye on the time but, not getting my hopes up at all. I have my first sweep for tomorrow at my MW appointment but, she will only do it if my cervix is favourable so, will have to wait until 3:30pm tomorrow to find out. She did say last week baby was deeply engaged so, who knows I have been wearing a pad for the last few weeks due to discharge(white/milky)so, at least I am prepared that way.

I have my FX for those that are having inductions today and this week really hope that at least one of us will be holding our babies by the end of the week.
