Every scan I've had (we're up to about 10 at this point) has put me ahead on dates, despite the fact that I'm 100% sure of the date of conception, due to IVF- that includes my first scan at 7 weeks!
I really do sympathise and I can't begin to imagine what it feels like to be in your situation. I certainly don't think you've done anything wrong. That being said, whilst it's unlikely that the baby is the other guys, you really need to find out for sure. It wouldn't be fair on your baby or your partner to let them believe he is the Dad, only to find out later down the line that he isn't. My Mum found out at 35 that the man she grew up thinking was her Dad may not be and it really messed her up- I still don't think she's dealt with it 15 years later.
