i know i've not been through labour yet, but my theory is if labour was so god damned awful ladies wouldn't go back again and again............

It's a day or two or three in agony, but.......the benefits are amazing and you do forget. We're women. Men would never do it twice.

I am actually really excited about labour. Mine was induced due to PET and was horrific thanks to the labour inducing drugs but it's not put me off and I'm looking forward to the challenge x

Funny enough, I think DH's gender wishes are getting stronger (he wants a boy) the closer we get, and mine are getting weaker, I just want to meet my baby, don't care whether I have a boy or another girl! I asked him today if he would be okay if this was a girl, and he replied "kind of"...sure he will fall in love anyway!
I'm still working! I'm going in for an hour a day. I'm a teacher, and I have senior classes. So although I was so pumped for mat leave, I haven't really taken it yet!
So exciting- we are almost all in third tri together! How fast is this going???

Chele- went into work today- tried to teach a bunch of 17 year olds with Emma crawling around the floor! Wasn't all that successful....I am hoping to go in next friday as well if baby hasn't made an appearance by then!

And babyhopes, labour for me was completely bearable. I spent the whole time with my face in a bowl of ice! After many, many hours at 3cm dilated, they gave me an epi, and then I went to sleep! Woke up, ready to deliver :) So definitely not worried about going back a second (and hopefully more!) time!
And can't wait to be our first team yellow baby! Hopefully only a few weeks to go!

Missmayhem - I don't usually go around with my labor stories because I had two completely different labors. My son, I had the epi done but it didn't work, so I had him w/no pain meds - and it was agony, yes. I can't even describe it. But it's the outcome that I wanted and I would do it all over again to get him. But it is the most painful thing in my life. My daughter, I had an epi and it worked... I watched TV the whole time. See, I had two different labors. But some women have very smooth ones to start with, even with no epi...

Chele - HEY! How have you been? :)

Cat - you are getting closer and closer! I can't wait for your big day either! You'll be our first, and I'm excited to find out. Are you all ready to go by now? :D
 
depends on what you mean by ready....
hospital bag- not packed!
Place for baby to sleep- not yet! (although a friend has a bassinette that we can pick up at any time, just haven't got round to it)
Clothes for baby- if it is a girl I've got plenty!
Car seat- Check!
Pram- Check!
Nursery- it is a mess, but at least Emma isn't sleeping in it any more! Baby is on our room at first anyway :)

So, ready? Not really!
 
Eh... you don't need much to be 'ready', especially with Emma still being so young-- you've got all you need for the beginning! Just relax and enjoy... man I WISH I was sitting back, waiting for labor to start...!
 
Hello my lovelies. So I had my 4d scan on Saturday and it was bloody amazing!! I'm def glad we didn't have one with Max, as this baby looks a lot like Max and you can def tell in the face it's a boy, so I think if I'd had one with mAx I would have suspected he was a boy from his face.

I packed my hospital bag today, after getting some period kind of pains yesterday that turned into nothing! Hoping baby doesn't arrive till next week though, I'm enjoying being with Emma at the moment!

not engaged at all- although apparently this is common for second babies. 2 friends who had the same due date as me had their babies yesterday- this is getting a bit scary now!

Chele - amazing photos! The scans do show that these little guys are brothers. How cute! I bet you're thrilled. :)

Cat - it's getting there now! I'm glad you finally packed your bag. LOL. I didn't have my bag packed with my son... Shame on me. Lol. Oh man, the final two weeks! *HUGS*

Me - I'm on my final week in the 2nd trimester! I can't believe I've hit less than 100 days! Crazy. I can't believe come this Sunday, I will officially be in the 3rd trimester. o_O Crazy.

AFI HAS GONE DOWN TO NORMAL LEVELS SO FINGERS CROSSED NO MORE SCANS!
BABY ALL HEALTHY ALTHOUGH A LIL CHUBBY LOL 4LB ALREADY EKKKKK OUCH.

So glad babyhopes!! You have been in my prayers, and so happy to hear that everything is fine :hugs:
I've been experiencing cramping for about 30 hours now, had a few contractions yesterday (20 mins apart) but it really doesn't seem to be going anywhere! I'm getting frustrated! It seems like the contractions stopped after I started to get excited about meeting baby, and now I can't seem to get them to start again...hope this doesn't go on for another 2 weeks!
