Worried about my 10 month olds Weight

My little boy was born at 4lbs 6oz, and I hoped he was catching up but the more we see kids his age the more I worry.

How much does your 10-11 month old weigh, and how much have they put on in the last 8 weeks?

My little man weighs less than 18lbs, and has put on less than 1lb in 2 months.. Is this too slow? Pictures would be appreciated x

My son is 11lbs at 5 months. He is tiny. They are worried about him though. My niece is 18lbs at 17 months. I don't think she's small really.

My son was 7lbs at 8 weeks, I'm trying to think what he was at five months.. I think it was around 11lbs. I'm more worried that his weight gain has slowed, is 1lb is 2 months okay? X x

My baby was weighed just last week at 11 months, weighing 16 lb 1 oz. She was 7 lb 1 oz at birth. At that rate mine has put on less than yours, but she's perfectly healthy and I'm sure yours is too. Lots of books I've read say around a year their weight gain slows.

ETA: she was 14lb 15oz at 9 months, so she only put on 1lb 2 oz in the last two months.

That sounds really good actually. I mean he has more than tripled his birth weight, which they want them to do around a year. My 17mo has just barely done that, granted he started out bigger but still. At this age they will slow down a lot, so 1lb in a month is ok. They are more mobile now so they are burning more calories so they just don't gain as quickly. Preston was about 18.5lbs at 10mo...7lbs at birth. He's 17.5mo now and exactly 22lbs. He is on the smaller side, he varies between the 8th-15th% but he's very healthy.

If it makes you feel any better, I know P is older but he was right under 20lbs at a year and still just right at 22lbs now...almost 6mo later. So he's gained about 2lbs 4oz in 5.5mo.

He's tripled his weight, I think that's great!!

Our LO averages about one pound a month now, at 9 months he was 21lbs so I would guess he's around 22/23 lbs now. He was born 7lbs 5oz. My friends 10 monther was born around 7lbs and she's only 17.5lbs right now

She was born at 8lb 15, at 10 months she was 18.1, at 1 she was 19.7 and at two shes about 25lb. Its normal for their weight gain to slow down after 6 months and again after one.

As the others have said he's tripled his birth weight which is brilliant. As a guideline I was told to aim for this by 1 year!

My son was 2 lbs heavier than your LO at birth, so mine should probably be a bit bigger than yours at 10 months - at 10 months he was 18 lbs 1 oz , so my son has gained less than yours in the 10 months!!

The weight does slow, thats why the on the centile graps the curves really start to taper off and are not as steep.

My sons weight was really slow, he went off the bottom of the charts, under the 0.4th line, and it wasnt til past 8 months that he caught up a bit!!

EDIT - to add......from 8 months to 10 months he gained about 1 lb 14 oz over those 2 months - so just under 1 lb each month - but as said above his weight has shot up from around 8 months on, compared to what it was before that. Most folks LOs weight does slow down but my LO gained more rapidly think to make up for such poor weight gain in his first 4 months or so. Also, he wasnt crawling or moving around really til he turned 11 months so he wasnt burning much calories!

At 10 months ds is exactly 9kg, think that's about 20lb. He was born at 6lb 14oz.
As others have said as babies get more mobile, increase in weight reduces (otherwise we would all be huge!) lol.
What centile is he in and has he roughly followed that curve?
My ds has fluctuated between the 0.4centile to 50th!

I just looked at the who weight graph and it looks as though the expected average weight increase from 9 to 10 months and 10 to 11 months is 200g. This is 7oz. So your lo is doing great!

10.5 months she's 16lb 6oz, starting off at 7lb 1.
She gained 5oz in the past 4 weeks and 7oz in the 6 weeks before that. So under 1lb in 2 months.
He sounds like he's doing fine, just diddy

Tanwen was 8lb 5oz at birth and at a guess is about 24 or 25lb now at 11 months! Despite her being really active her weight gain hasn't slowed much and she's climbing centiles! She's big for her age though and always has been and I know that's it's very unusual to climb centiles after 6 months! Your LO has tripled birth weight, which, as others have said, is really good!

According to the new charts they are expected to gain around 1.75oz a week after 6 months so 1lb in 2 months is fine xx
