I posted the other day about having loads of pain along the top of my bump, on the right side. I never realised this was a sign of pre e. tie that in with my 3 week headache, blurred vision and that I've been up since 5am vomiting, and I'm a bit concerned. I just thought all this was normal and pre e was high bp, protein in urine, swelling. My bp last Tuesday was 110/70, and I had no protein, but glucose in my urine. Don't know how quick this can change though. Currently trying to stop throwing up so I can get to my drs. Going to be a nightmare though, my drs is also a walk in centre, and its bank holiday, and half term, hopefully I'll be seen quicy and this is all just a coincidence :( x

In the US most pharmacies have BP machines you can just walk in and find out your BP real quick. Do you guys have anything like that there? GL hope everythings ok and you start feeling better

Your BP isnt always raised with Pre e but you certainly sound like you have a lot of the symptoms :hugs: it can change in an instant too, they say it can come on very suddenly especially after 32 weeks and i have read a lot of ladies get it around 36 weeks.

please please go to your hospital today, there should be a day assessment center for pregnancy at your hospital or failing that call the labor ward they will want to see you asap and carry out some checks xxx

Just been to the drs. Completely useless. "I can't really diagnose you, but if you're still in pain in a few days, come back and we'll try again". Umm, seriously?! My mum developed pre e by 22 weeks in all 3 of her pregnancies, my grandma by 32 weeks in all 4 of hers. So I've got a family history. He just checked my blood pressure, said it seemed ok, and that was it!! Grrr. x

Thats terrible!!! seriously forget the doctors, mine sent me home with crazy high BP to "rest" i went to the day assessment center on the same day and im now under a specialist for PIH and on BP tablets and monitored weekly and have regular growth scans! So much for the doctors LOL get yourself to the hospital hunni xxx

I'd never go to the GP. Have you got the nr for triage in hospital? I'd call them and they'll probably want to see you but at least they'll check your bp and your urine as well.
I had pe with my girl and it was just there from one minute to the other, no previous symptoms or a slow build up.
X

I have 4 weekly growth scans anyway due to a high risk pregnancy after losing Joshua to iugr. I'm seeing my specialist Thursday so I'll mention it to him. Just couldn't believe they just dismissed it like that x

I would phone your local assessment unit, they may want to run some bloods and pop you on for a ctg xx

Lexi did you manage to speak to the hospital hun? Really think its worth seeing/speaking to them xxx

I'd call triage at your maternity hospital now Hun. I've had pre-e twice now and both times my BP was average til day before with each but I had all the other symptoms coming out my butt for weeks! The epigastric pain (right sided rib pain) and vomiting also could be HELLP syndrome a complication of PRE-E which cn be life threaten if not caught in time.

I'm honestly not trying to freak you out or scare-mongre but please don't rely on your GP and thur is too far away in my opinion. It hopefully will be a wasted visit to the hospital but will give you peace of mind :hugs: xx

I can't get to my hospital tonight :( neither me or oh drive and with it being bank holiday, no buses :( can't afford a taxi as its £20. If I still have it tomorrow I'll ring my midwife instead and see what she suggests/see if she can do a home visit xx

Good idea hun  i hope she can do a home visit for you tomorrow :flower: keep us posted on how you get on xxx

Hope everything is ok. I started with pre-eclampsia at 25 weeks and Sophie was delivered at 27 weeks. I mostly didn't have any symptoms that I was aware of - it was the MW who discovered the protein and the high BP and I was monitored every day. I had vague niggling headaches but I do get a lot of headaches anyway so I'm not sure if they were related. What I do know is that the day Sophie was born, I woke up with a headache that was not like any other I have ever had in my life, and I never want to have one like that again. I also had so much swelling that I couldn't even bend my fingers. I'd been fine when I went to bed the night before. Luckily I was already in hospital because I'd been admitted at 26+5 and was going to be staying there until whenever Sophie arrived.

Don't let anyone fob you off, they MUST take you seriously. I hope everything is ok xxx

I just googled hellp syndrome as I hadn't heard of it, sounds terrifying. My gp told me at my scan on Thursday to ask if they can check my liver?? Wow, what a fighter after being born at 27 weeks!! Couldn't of been an easy journey for you. Joshua arrived at 34 and that was scary enough x

She certainly is a fighter, we actually had a relatively "easy" journey through NICU compared to what we were told we could expect, but it was scary nonetheless. She was in for 12 weeks. I honestly don't know how DH and I didn't crack up though! She's just turned 3 and has absolutely no problems as a result of her prematurity, which is a miracle.

Can you keep us posted with how you get on? Please make sure you see someone tomorrow :hugs: xxx
